Description

A severe ground where snow storms always rage. Deep crevasses abound in this region, where the Allied Forces of Altana traveled to reach the Shadow Lord's castle during the climax of the Crystal War. Gigas, statues, ahrimen and goblins have made a home in this frozen wasteland.

Around the glacier, ruins of the same type as the Horutoto ruins of Sarutabaruta were discovered. Controversy over the specific creators of these structures continue among archeologists of Windurst and the priests of San d' Oria. Adventurers can also find the ruins of Fei'Yin at the northernmost point of the glacier.

Some odds and ends...

As others have noted, Ranguemont Pass is the only way to reach this area. Ranguemont has a doorway with a couple of elvaan in front of it. Talk to them and they'll open it for you after they warn you that you can't come back through the door.

However, between the door and the entrance, there's a fork in the cave. If you take the other path, you'll see a ledge, and you might also see the scorpion that likes to hang out in the room at the top of the ledge. If you're exping on the monsters in the early portion of Ranguemont, the scorpion will wipe your party out without too much difficulty, so leave it alone (left to itself, it'll stay up above - although I wouldn't set up camp too close just to be safe). This ledge is your way out from the other side of the door. You can't use the ledge to go deeper into the dungeon, but if you've gone through the door, you can use it to get out.

IIRC, once you're past the guarded door, the first passage to the West will take you back south again. You'll come to another door with some goblins nearby. You'll need to open the door yourself (and need to drop invisible to do so if you're using sneak/invisible), and on the other side of the door is the room with the scorpion - and the ledge that lets you drop back down to the entry area for Rangumont Pass.

ok guys - find a whm in game to help you, as whm's need SMN too... cast sneak/invis and go to ranguemont pass (entrance NE E ronfaure) print out the map from this site first. seekers are NON aggro - basically the only thing in the pass that doesnt. batallia is exit only - im right around the corner - about to get my last weather when the server comes back up :)
The closing doors

I hated trying to get to this place, I entered through that door and it locked behind me. I barely escaped a monster thanks to a japanesse person, and then went back to the door and had to wait for an hour and a half for a person to come along and open it. (sigh)

Ok I am also doing summoner quest and trying to get Ice from here.

You definitely cannot access this area from batallia downs - you can only access it by travelling through the Ranguemont (sp) Pass which is most northerly point of East Ronfaire. You travel through the pass until you reach a room with a gate guard. She will open the gate for you but once you pass through it you have to find another way out - I assume the battalia downs must be the exit only.

Cant help you any more than this because I died very quickly once I got into the area beyond the gate.

Once we enter through this gate in east ronafaure will there be a cutscene if there is ice?

And once we get cutscene for summoner quest we can just warp out right?

Please let me know if i have the right idea?

is there any aggro in the pass?

Can someone please post some detailed information on how the heck one gets into this zone. I'm currently doing the summoner quest and i need to experience the ice weather pattern here. finding any help in game is close to impossible. maybe it's the hours i play i dunno seems anyone helpful can't speak a word of english.
It's not simple to get in

It's not a simple as you make it sound. Unless I completel spaced out while searching, there is a ridge all the way around the E4/5 area that you cannot get up (the ridge is actually a bit south of it, but it circles all the way from one wall to the other, no way up)

Can anyone tell me how to get to this place?
how?

how do i get here?

It's quite simple to get in - you need to first find the Gate to get in, then have the guard next to the gate open it. Major problem is, once you're in, you can't get out through the gate - the Guard closes it behind you.
