Description

The northern section of the San d'Orian capitol has an open layout and is home to the Parade Grounds, a home for many festivals throughout the year, as well as a regal setting for the consulates that can be found there. Access to the Chateau d'Oraguille can be found to the north of the Parade Grounds, while adventurers can find solace in Altana within the Cathedral to the east of the square. Laborman's Way to the west, however, is in direct contrast with its enclosed feel and perpetual state of construction. Here, adventurers may purchase weapons and armor, as well as sign up with the Smithing and Woodworking Guilds. Beyond that is the entrance to Port San d'Oria. Low level adventurers beware: clicking certain nondescript doors will lead you to danger...

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 22 2005 at 7:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I waited for the boat (30min wait) to goto North point, I get there and I can't zone to san d'oria maybe it is one way from sandy only, or I could've missed it but not likely, north point is small.

Trying to get the second quest in San D'Oria, but can't find which gate guard to speak to. They all just give me 'reports' or can't talk.

Hrm.

The gate guard is Grilau. He can be found in North San d'Oria, the gate to West Ronfare (The Ranperre Gate), Loc: C/D-8, it's like right on the line of C and D. It took me forever to find it,Lol.

Your fame must be lvl 4 in San d'Oria to have the quest. If you want to lvl your fames fast, buy 30 stacks of La Theine Cabbage from a region marchant and go to Selbina. Trade your La Theine Cabbage to the guy near the 2 sheeps (5 Cabbages). 30 stacks will raise 1 lvl of both San d'Oria and Bastok fame so do it a couple of time and don't worry, it's cheap cause the quest gives you 100 gils for each 5 Cabbage you trade... Good luck!

To answer for future reference:
No..you do not have to change your nationality to rent a room anywhere in Vanadiel
You speak to the NPC outside the MH to have your stuff moved from your previous MH to the rent a room.
Hope this helped.

Where in Sandy do I obtain maps for Valkurm Dunes and Ranperre's Tomb? The map dealers in No. and So. Sandy don't carry those particular maps.

You have to do a quest for the map of King Ranperre's Tomb. You can start it by talking to an NPC named Aurege in North Sandy at (F-3), I believe. Check the quests related to North Sandy for more info ^__^

That would be from Windurst, and then talk to one of the War Warlocks. I've gotten all of my Mercenary Captain gear this way.

Does anyone know about the connection between North San D'Oria and Carpenter's landing through the laborman's way? I think it just might be an exit from Carpenter's Landing. There is a wooden door that say is it locked when examined.
RE: Carpenter's Landing Entry
# Oct 13 2004 at 11:51 AM Rating: Decent
You can get throught the door........But I think you need chains of Promathia to do it......I am not sure, I did not discover it until after I installed the update, but I can get through the door! It may have something to do with level to.....I was a level 22 RDM when I got in there!!

I'm about to start playing FFXI, as an Elvaan Warrior in Sandy so I'll get the ring. But I also want to join the fishing guild in windurst. Can I do it immediately? Or is traveling to Windurst too perilous, and I have to lvl up for a while? And if I can go immediately what do I have to do?

It won't be safe to travel to Windhurst for awhile. I wouldn't try it without an escort or party till you level up past 10-15. Besides you can take your fishing skill to level 10 without joining the guild and that will take you awhile depending on how much you fish.

That's not the Cathedral, that was Bostanieux Oubliette, the dungeons under the castle. It is actually a separate area.

To change your nationality you have to go to gate gaurds and for me it cost 12,000 gil to change. You might just wanna check it out first before saving up 12,000 gil i think it just forms to how much gil you have.

priests robe

where the heck is the priests robe located in N. San d'Oria?????? I know its dropped by an NM, but the info on this site about the item says that it is also found in N. San....
RE: priests robe
# Jan 21 2004 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
I'm having the same problem! I can't get this quest for the Priest's Robe. I am San Dorian, Rank 3 and have a butt load of Fame. I've done like 80% of all San Dorian Quests.

The guy that is supposed to give the quest for this item is: Pagisalis (M-6) He's in the basement of the N. San Dorian Cathedral. The first quest he gave me was one that grants a Friar's Rope. I completed this but so far, he's not offering anything else.

Has ANYONE done this quest? I'm thinking that it doesn't exist. Thanks

If you are from San D Oria there is a lady that you trade the coupon to in Port San D Oria. If you exit form your moghouse in this area go past the magic shop and when you exit the tunnel she is just ot the right of when you exit.(She is watching the airships)
