Ifrit's really cool looking and has good physical damage but in the end, he's pretty much useless when he's in a party. I've had him for awhile (NA, not JP) and I've found that Garuda and Titan are much more useful for their party abilities, Stoneskin and Blink.

I am a 72 blm and i took on most all the avatars except leviathen and fenrir with a 75 rdm we duo'd them with ease.

reverse the jobs to 75rdm/27nin and u can solo all the avatars

irifit is the best summon regardless that u can summon all of them at lvl 1 and garuda is the biggist

Yes, this is where Ifrit's Protocrystal is located. You must go through Ifrit's Cauldron to enter this area.
