Description

The churning industries of Bastok are powered by the ore and minerals carted from the republic's mines. The district of Bastok Mines, cut into the mountains south of Bastok Markets, is the blue-collar region of the city where Galka workers mine the rocks for anything valuable. Bastok Markets also provides access to the Zeruhn Mines and, beyond there, Korroloka Tunnel.

While Bastok Mines provides important resources for Bastok, the district also illustrates the glaring socioeconomic disparities between the humes and Galkas. While many of the humes live in Bastok Markets and Port Bastok, many of the Galkas reside in lesser conditions along the dusty streets of the mines. These living conditions have made some galkas resentful toward the wealth of the humes.

while i was going to rent a choco in South San d'Oria they person who rented it asked me if i could bring a lost chocobo back to its master in the republic stables in bastok mines
well i brought it outside the south gate except the chocobo wouldnt go in and i gave up when the chocobo ran away..
has anyone else got this ...quest??

first, be sure you are using the entrance for the mines which is the closest to the water.
second, the timer is to show the fastest time for delivery of the chocobo to the intended destinatioin.

i personally have taken the quest from bastok to jeuno and jeuno to windurst and been one minute ET less from the fastest time. I don't know how i can be that far behind when i am taking the shortest route and not running into anything, but i find myself with long zone delays.

lastly i have found the reward to be nothing of any importance. i just do it because i can.

I got this same request. I decided, what the heck, and took a ride to Gustaberg South. Once i crossed into Gustaberg I noticed a timer reading "Vanadiel time: 9 hours. Earth time 26 minutes" or something like that.
When I got the "quest" though, I was told to talk to someone for a reward. I have yet to find anyone who will give me a reward. Could it be the guard at the checkpoint in North Gustaberg?

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but this is the best sector of Bastok. Why? Mog House and Auction House are very close to each other, Chocobo stables are here (if you got a choco licence), LESS CROWDING! Zerhun Mines are connected to this sector... Great place to hang out and do business if you give a care.

I don't know why everyone *has* to be at the fountain square in Bastok Markets. Bastok is the only starting city where the sector with chocobos is *not* crowded. (I mean, in Sandy and Windy, there are AHs near their Chocobo stables, and its always crowded)

Whee for opinionated post XD

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 13 2004 at 2:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You people are obviously noobs. Have you heard of a map? The place Galkans aren't allowed in is to go to a place near Rabao, not the Zeruhn Mines. If you looked at the map, you would see you can turn and go south to go to the actual mines. I don't like being mean, but really, how stupid do you have to be to not turn left?

Help with Zeruhn Mine entrance
# Nov 11 2003 at 6:15 PM Rating: Default
Trying to get into Zeruhn Mines, but being a Galkan, I'm prevented from going through the gates. Someone said that I needed to talk to an NPC to get through, but I'm not sure of who I need to talk to, or where I can find them, or what I need to do in general to get through. My friends (tarutaru and mithra) walked through just fine... Any help would be appreciated...

In order to pass the gate in Zeruhn mines you have to have the expansion pack Rise of the Zilart installed and REGISTERED. That's all.

Parragoh's house is located beneath the Bat lair's inn. After the arch, it's the first house on your left.
