Did some ptying at 67-68 today. But after around 18 k xp and getting lvl 68 pld,i got the feeling the mobs was hitting me harder and getting inn more critical attacks. Even Tropogans was hitting me for 100+ hp. Not to mention Catoblepas banging away for 120+ and 500+ when doing stomp. This is with Artifact armor, Diamond shield, Glut sword/Esp sword, Vigor rings etc
So what id like to know is: Do these mobs store hate for u like Tonberrys do? If so, how do i release hate?
I went to do bard quest tocay and i wanted to blood port back to jeuno when i found reuned stone; but befor i did i found the zone lol i got stone, and though "hmmm i go kill my self there cuz i brought sam lv l5 just so i can die fast and save exp, i go in there and i end up runing around the entier time think mobs would agro me XD so i just look at stuuf and took pictures; this could be some sort of a relly fun LS event planed hmmmm
Anyone else notices hwo much different this place is after the patch? They added Hobgoblin Toreadors in a lot of the usual Fascinator/Martialist/Venerer spawns. Toreadors are RDM mobs and like to use Stoneskin. In an exp of 65-67 we had a tough time killing them because their Stoneskin would stay up for so long. They also swapped some of the Smithy/Shaman spawn for some Martialist/Fascinator/Venerer spawns. They made this place a whole lot tougher, they must have also made Alastors tougher because I remember being able to kill them at lvl 64ish in an exp group but this time we had a somewhat tough time killing them.

I was in Mhaura doing quests today and I decided to go do some exploring - by myself 37 Rdm - to kill some time.. so I ask my LS how to get to Bibiki Bay. Armed with the info I need, so off I trot..
Firstly I zoned and found a Coastal Rabab or some other type of evil bunny.. and it reads EP+ so I think 'Why not give it a try'. All I can say is thank you to all the gods in existance that I was still close to the zone.
Note to self and all others - these bunnies are not nice and DONT wana play..
Any way so after I zoned with only 25HP and rested, I thought I'd push my luck and go for another look.. the first rabab I checked read as EM++ so I put my head down and keep on trotting. Next I see the Coastal Dhalmels - didnt even bother checking these.. I was distracted by the creepy crawly thing I spyed moving around their legs..the Efts.. o.o
Cos I had never seen one before and had no idea what it would aggro to, I frose, and as fast as my little fingers could move I asked my LS. None of which had any idea. >.<
Well after one hopped right up to me and kept moving past without any sign of wanting to kill me, I figured I was safe and headed for Sunshine Docks. Now there are Efts crawling around this place EVERYWHERE...
Anyways I spoke to the lady at the shop/stall and the shop was closed and I kept thinking what a waste of time it was coming here, when I spot the Manaclipper docking.. so I trotted over and spoke to the lady at the dock and purchased me a multipass - 500g - and jump on board.
I had no idea where I was headed but I figured anywhere had to be better than standing around with those efts. So off we sailed, first we went to Dhalmel Rock - hmmm a rock shaped like Dhalmel legs o.o - second we went to the Purgonorgo Isle - this place was very cool - and third we went out to the reef thing - not much from above but its pretty cool if you shift the camera angle.
Purgonorgo Isle had to be my fav place of all three - i'm actually trying to see if i can organise my in-game wedding here - as there's not many people here, other than the NPCs I only ran into 3 others. And the landscape is spectacular.. even if all the mobs here checked at IT+++ or VT++.
I explored the whole Isle and found giant shellfish type things, monkeys, evil looking mandy things and toucans. The best thing was that I didnt need to use Protect, Shell, Sneak or Invis, even when I spotted the 2 Kraken or the Vicious Clots.
But one question I have is what is the ???Warmachine for? I didnt dare go near it incase it aggroed me. But I am curious to know.
Hey thanks for your post. I've been wondering what the boat took you too and now i know =) I'm going to go there tomorrow if i have time while seeking for pty.
Hope yall dont rate me down for this but i was told something a long time ago about the way monsters con. I was told that upto level 10 mob cons are on a you vs. it system. But after 10 the con of a mob is how it would be to a pt of your level. If im wrong thats cool. Just trying to throw a suggestion out there.
my friend told me the mobs here are from lvl 20 to lvl 80. So the lvl range here is pretty wide. But, thats just what my friend told me I my self have never been there before but from what i hear its a very pretty place.

wow....last night, with the following setup, 61-63 pt (3x rng, 1x nin, 1x brd, 1x whm), killing dhamels, we were gettign more than 350exp per kill. On a chain 3, we got 390 exp!

I've never pt'ed here (one of my static members doesn't have CoP ; ;), but i'm just curious: were you getting past chain #3? How much downtime did you guys have?

"Although the stars would love to claim credit for your fate, Occam's Razor and plain common sense point to your becoming a colossal @#%^."
SE kinda screwed up when they made the Hobgoblins here.
They made them very high level, but forgot to make them difficult to kill. Very easy xp here. Can get chain 5 with a mediocre party simply because no one taught hobgoblins how to hold bombs correctly.
in the south of G-10, on the shore, you can see down (down and north) to a small ledge close to the water's surface. There seems to be no way to get to this ledge from either side of the mountain, and no tunnel that goes under the zone to access it.
There are mobs there- it makes me think that this is intended for people to walk on, eventually.
My guess is that if this zone is really connected to Hu'Xzoi like the data says, it will be accessed from this point.
Anyone else notice this? I'll try to get some SSs.
-Go to Mhaura -Walk straight once in from the entrance -Turn east up a small step of stairs -NPC named Ludwig sells maps, and one of them is Bibiki Bay
In order to get there you must first go down Khoonta Dunes entrance at H-9, then keep heading west on the bay of the sea. You will go under a tunnel and that leads to Bibiki bay.
For Bst experience, I would say that it's probably more of a lv20-25+ leveling zone for early bsts, to pair up on Efts.
The mobs around this range seem to be 30-40's, then 70-80's at the second part.
How do I get in here? I installed the expansion and registered the expanded services, and it's marked on my map in the lower left corner of Buburimu Penn. But when I go there, there's no way in, just a solid rock. Please help me... ;>.<;
Is there a cutscene in Bibiki Bay, like there was for Lower Delkfutt tower. My friend said there was, and it was better than the one at the Tower, so I just wanted to see it...and I thought it'd happen when I entered, like the Tower. But nothing. Anything special I gotta do?
Nah, there isn't, at least not for just being in the zone like with tower (maybe there's a CoP mission here?). Your friend was prolly messing with you.
urggggh, decided to run around here last night.. Everything was too weak to be worthwhile, or so I though.. Just bepoppin around, see a gob ahead, thinking eh, no biggy, didn't think to check it.. WHACK!! Hobgoblin Martialist hit's Kalia for 330 points of damage, Hobgoblin Martialist hit's Kalia for 360 points of Damage... Kalia was defeated by the Hobgoblin Martialist....
While he was slaughtering me I checked him, IT++.. Hmmm from to weak to be worthwhile to IT++ I didn't like that. So friend who was with me casted raise and ran away from me... I think I'm safe for a milli second and cast raise, soon as I clicked yes the jerkface turned around... Hobgoblin Martialist hits Kalia for 250 points of damage, Kalia was Defeated by the Hobgoblin Martialist.... SNORK!!!!!!!!!!!
Raise again, waited, raised and friend invised me and I ran... LMFAO
We explored more with sneak and invis on this time around, and didn't see anything special, I don't think i explored every nook and cranny, but I got pretty close. THe boat was cool I only took it once, I will be going back.. But If I die again I delevel =/ 457 into level 51 now...
I was expecting to see a bit more in the new areas then I did.. But I'm still having fun anyways =0)
I went here as RDM lvl 18. Bibiki Bay itself would have been easy: Almost nothing aggroes. The area around it (From Mhaura to Bibiki Bay) IS hard though. Aggroed by a bunch of Gobs under way. Fortunely a SMN on around level 32 and a RDM around level 45 helped me get to Bibiki Bay there. We went on the Manaclipper to the prettier areas. I didn't get to see them though. The SMN and RDM attacked some Kraken/Squid on the boat and got killed easily. I wasn't fighting it (Duh) but the Kraken/Squid used a Poison Spray-ish attack and Poisoned me. I got like 30 damage every 3 secs and my small Cures couldn't help me stay alive. We all died on the boat and I got back to my HP to level my Sub again. v.v;;
With the release of CoP, several people from my LS decided to go to Bibiki Bay to see if it was a viable area to gain experience points. Heading to the west side of Bibiki Bay, we camped at the a small pass before the spawn point of the Hobgoblin martialist (pass located at F-7/F-8). From here we camped the Hobgoblin Martialist (warrior-type), Hobgoblin Venerer (ranger-type), and Hobgoblin Fascinator (black mage). The party consisted of a lvl 60 PLD/WAR, lvl 63 RNG/THF ,lvl 60 BLM/WHM, lvl 61 MNK/WAR, lvl 61 BRD/WHM, and lvl 61 RDM/WHM (me). Experience on the first kill in the chain ranged from 165-180, and we were able to get to chain 4 for about 240 at times. Lvling on these mobs can be viable for a more balanced group and provide an alternative to Labyrinth of Onzozo or Valley of Sorrows.

he island was kinda boring, everything Too Weak to my 50RDM, with the odd EP here and there, not much though. Those things on the beach were annoying though, that bury themselves to Regen HP, and pretty much temporarily cast Protect and Shell 10 on themselves, lol. Found a ??? in the center of the map on the island, not sure what it is for, and found an NPC ???Warhamme. No iea what this is for either.
This place is nice, I went here with a lvl 53 PLD from my LS. It's like Valkurm Dunes but for lvl 40-45, give or take a few levels.
We took the manaclipper and on the clipper some monsters were running about. When we got to the island we ran around a bit, some things were easy prey to the PLD but everything I saw on the island was too weak to me (56 WHM).
We tried one of those creatures with the big shell on their back and it was pretty tough, we were hitting for 8-9 damage when it crawled in it's shell. Took us about 5 minutes to kill one. Magic seems more effective to these creatures, since we saw a BLM my level kill a similar creature in about 2 minutes.
i am a lvl 42 DRG, and the easy prey here and other areas are a little too lethal for me, and it's not like i'm weak. I think the rating system is messed up and whacked beyond control. I'm sick of the weakling mobs practicaly killing me for no apparent reason. My armor is the best i can have at 42, so why is this happening? those little lizard things in the bay killed me with a dose of poison, i owe tham one...

I'm not entirely sure on this because SE never actually announced this, but I think these areas are made for the "competent" parties. Meaning that the mobs here are harder than normal and smarter than the average bear. Soloing in these areas should be discouraged till a higher lvl. Other than that, if u find u are not getting good XP in a place like Crawler's Nest, but it is not because of lack of mobs, I do not recommend going to lvl here.
That still doesn't make it right. The con system should be consistent. If they don't want you soloing a mob then the con should show as tough or better regardless of your level. I find it very annoying that a EP can take out my DRK58. It should be that EM and below could be soloed no matter your level and T and up should require a party.
I find this annoying as well but also think that it has more to do with your job/equipment. I have even seen comment on some poeple saying "solo even match hunter" and i notice while out leveling RNG that the mobs that are "tough" can be dropped with a couple of arrows even before they come into attack range (RNG had best euipment and was eating chief kabobs{homemade}and had some milk for hp regen but never had the need to use it}. If you got the right equipment and know what your up against. you can take on IT++ solo like maze makers {worms}in the maze of shak. On the flip side while out leveling my WHM and finding mob conning as too weak with high Def I think Hey I could skill up on this mob only to find myself calling for help or finding a zone. please note that when you /check something you have no preknowledge of what elemental basis it is or how it attacks you, also the equipment and spells of your character have no effect on how something will check to you. If you have gimped eqipment or dont have spells like RDM {phalanx/ dispel) or WHM (erase/among others) than you should adjust your /check yourself. I think the biggest challenge is the elemental status of the mob, say you have a balanced elemental state and check a wind elemental out the is ep, you can take it out fine, but if you alter your equipment for wind/earth and try the same mob it will drop much easier and faster, with no changes made to the mob or it's con. my suggestion is to get to know our mobs and there weaknesses, and to adjust accordingling for such mobs. Feel free to carry extra equipment to switch out on the spot as mob requires it. If you don't know don't try. IMO this is the reason that we have many people saying I was lvl 50ish and it was tough, with an updating saying that was too weak to my lvl 40ish ... Oh and I love the worms, cant persue so best mobs to solo on imo, attack with stone/ga, silence, rasp, bind, but very prone to ranged attacks and magic, need to rest a bit, simply back up enough and rest up. perhaps SE could add a "mob insight" to the check like the fishing system now has. "The .... is decent chalenge <this could take a while> or <I don't think i can take it by mself> or <will probably kill your whole party> or <should go down swiftly>". another thought you could also watch your tp as a varible for /checks (once you have a weaponskill) if you got 290% TP ready for use than expect to swing a little harder. If you just zoned build your tp up before fighting the first even match you come accross. Just my thoughts now back to {work} /sigh.
weather or not you can solo an EP or DC mob demends on your jop and equipment. the checking system is not messed up at all, it tells you how much xp a mob will give you, not if you can beat the mob or not. if the system checked mobs based on how easy they were to kill you would be fighting IT+ mobs and some would give less then 100 xp. it would suck to think "ill solo a DC with my 2hr for some xp, then you fight it and it gives you 12 xp cause its 9 levels below you but checked as DC.
Yeah this annoys me too - the Rarabs con as EP to my 39THF - and then proceed to kill me before I can get them much below half health, and I too have the best armour, best weapons and maxed skills.
Is there a Map of the island that could be posted here? It seems that there are only maps of the Buburimu side ok the Bay and the Manaclipper routes. I didnt have a map when i explored the area so i couldn't see the island's paths. If anyone has a map of Purgonorgo(sp?) Island please post it :)
There is a vendor at the top of the first flight of stairs that sells the map for Bibiki bay. when you buy it, you will have the map to Purgonorgo and I assume the other Tour areas
The mobs around the "town" area conned EP to DC to me at 41 (RDM) but as I explored the area more I began to find things that were IT++ namely a whole family of mob class called Hobgoblins (they look like goblins so maybe its the same family)and some of the Efts, bunnys and dhamel also became IT++. A 59BLM from my LS went thru the same area and also found them to be IT so there's a very wide level range here so becareful!

40 RDM/19BLM (Ok so I'm behind) Taru M - Windy Onionsminions LS
Yes there are mobs in the "town" if you want to call it that. It isnt really a town, but it is basically a lot of mobs...Marine Dhalmels (level 35-40ish probably), Efts (same level) and some rarabs. There is a dock there with a man standing there selling tickets for the Manaclipper boat for 80 gil a piece. We went out to one of the islands (There are 3 and it is on a rotation as to where the boat goes) and once we got to the island it is about a 30 minute wait for the boat to come back. You can go clamming here for 500 gil a bucket, which will break if you fill it up too full and there are a few clamming areas on the beaches here. You can clam in the same area more than once and the clamming areas never go away and never move. The mobs here were Easy Prey (a few too weaks) for my level 50 Paladin and NOTHING aggroes over there. I also would not recommend fighting the green slug looking things and to stay FAR away from anybody fighting them. I think they are called Stagmites or something like that... I cannot remember. Anyway, I was with a level 50 Ranger, 62 BLM and we took one on that spawned on the boat over there well, it gave us a run for the money and luckily there was a high level WHM there. This thing has the worst poison I have ever experienced and his poison attack is a area attack. It drained like 20 hp per click and it clicked often.. ALSO to make matters worse, it has automatic life regeneration and it regens fast. luckily these things do not aggro, but stay away if somebody is fighting them.. I got poisoned twice just walked by one. Also, there are the black Mandragoras over here (like in the BCNM 40) which are pretty easy, pugils and toucans (birds) and slimes. Just so you know.. the drops here suck and I was unable to get a single thing to drop except a lousy bird egg and that was it in 2 hours of killing over here. Also, my fishing skill is only level 9, but I was only able to fish out Bastore Sardines, Cobalt Jellyfish and Quus. Also, you can go clamming here. It costs 500 gil to clam and he gives you a bucket that you can fill up. You can put about 5-8 things in the bucket before it breaks and if it breaks you lose everything and piss the guy off that gives it too you pretty bad.. lol. Clamming spots can be found on any of the beaches (usually 2 per beach) and they never move, so you can go back to them over and over, but there is a delay between how often you can clam in an area. Also, more than one person can use a clamming area as it never goes away and never moves. I was able to dig up pebbles, Bibiki Slugs, and Jacnives... The only bad thing is that your clamming kit is a key item and you cannot throw things back that you dont want, so you have to go back to the guy that gave you the bucket and turn it in and he takes the bucket and gives you the contents.. Then, if you want to do more clamming, you have to pay another 500gil to do it. It can get expensive and so far on my server only 3 have sold of the bibiki slugs for 500gil and a few Jacnives for 300gil. By the way, eft skin goes for a lot of money on my server (like 3k a piece) but they just dont seem to like dropping them. Good luck and have fun in this area and post anything you find. Also, if anybody is able to find out what is up with the NPC "??? Warmachine" on the back of the island that only goes "<clunk, clunk>" when you click on it, post it. It looks pretty scary but I am sure it is some kind of quest.
Also i believe Krakens aggro. Also a word of warning Krakens can be pulled up while fishing, it appeared IT- to me at lvl40. Also the poison by the Stagmites (or whatever) is bad! 23 ticks each time, I had full health 747HP and i died from it. It is AoE and it sucks!!
I did quite a bit of clamming, and besides the slugs, jacknives, and pebbles, I also got a piece of ingeous rock (but lost it when my bucket broke on the 3rd item).
I also saw somebody fish up 2 NM pugs called Bibiki Pugil. That was on the beach just east of the dock.
Not entirely true. After thinking the same thing and walking by dozens of the same mob over and over again....Vicous Clot do aggro.
----------------------------
Follow your heart, minute by minute and day by day. Let the course of the river run as it will, instead of tying yourself up in fears that you may never realize.
Okay, I heard that some of the mobs are somewhat in the town a bit. Is this true? I havn't had time to check it out yet, but I will this afternoon, ^^. I was just wondering, so I'll know whether to keep my guard up or not, ^^.
It looks more like this would be a good area for a group of around lvl 30 to party. I am lvl 44 and the mobs at the zone(dhamels, rarabs, efts, etc.) are all easy to me.
I was origally told by one of my friends that Bibiki Bay was supposed to be an area around the same level as Qufim. I was totally psyched because I despise Qufim and I want someone just as good to level in. But after reading a few posts here, it doesn't look like that's the case. Can anyone confirm that ther are mobs that level 20-25 can level off of in relative safety?
I've been running around this place for a while and see further in the zone a few high level mobs. Once you get into F8 everything becomes IT... and even though I'm only 58, I was with a 64 RDM and he said the same. Various Hobgoblins (Alastor, Blagger, Physician, Angler, Toreador, Venerer, Fascinator and Animalier), Cataoblepas (a kind of Dhamel), Tropical Rarabs and Tartarus Efts.
I got to wander around this zone for about 15 minutes on Saturday night, during the Square Enix release party in Milpitas.
This zone connects also to the "Manaclipper" zone, which is the catamaran boat you've seen in the pictures. I'm guessing that Bibiki Bay is divided into two sections, separated by water. The Manaclipper takes you from one section to the other.
Mobs I saw and fought here include Marine Dhalmels, Goblin Pathfinders, Acrophies, black Mandragoras orf some sort, squiddy things with shells, birds and rarabs. They were all TWW for the level 60 characters we got to play.

You guys are a class act... don't even understand the point of an EXPANSION PACK. Why on earth would they allow just anyone to etner areas from the expansion pack... then it wouldn't be one. Perhaps if you guys actually read www.playonline.com and, in FFXI. You'll see that JP/EU got it 5 days before us. Stop taking out your childish angers on SE. They're not forcing you to play the game.
No one said that we expect to go into the new areas without buying the expansion pack. At least I did not.
I'm guessing the the U.S. is SE's biggest market and one would think that it would pay special attention to it. Yes, SE is a Japanese company and, yes, it makes sense that the expansion pack would be released in Japan first.
I was trying to have a little fun with my comments ... not really compaining.

I trust Milich.

2nd is there a good spot for lvl 32 bst?
tx!!
For Bst experience, I would say that it's probably more of a lv20-25+ leveling zone for early bsts, to pair up on Efts.
The mobs around this range seem to be 30-40's, then 70-80's at the second part.

I'm guessing the the U.S. is SE's biggest market and one would think that it would pay special attention to it. Yes, SE is a Japanese company and, yes, it makes sense that the expansion pack would be released in Japan first.
I was trying to have a little fun with my comments ... not really compaining.
