Description

A field of peaceful meadows that are part of the Tavnazian Archipelago - a tiny island off the west coast of Quon which was once home to the proud nation of Tavnazia. Before the Crystal War, this region was actually a peninsula connected with the mainland. However, a devastating explosion caused by a secret weapon of the beastmen resulted in the disintegration of a large portion of the surrounding landscape.

The explosion also sent the nation's capitol, a city built on the profits of its thriving trade business, into ruin. The remnants of the beastmen army remain in control of the archipelago, and until now, it was thought that none of the former inhabitants had survived.

Points of Interest

  • The ruins of Tavnazia can be viewed from the ledge at Blueblade Fell at J-6.
  • Zone into Tavnazian Safehold at E-8.
  • Powerful monsters lurk in the clearing at J-7, K-7 and L-7.
  • Fomar mobs appear throughout the zone during evening hours.
  • The swirling vortex at K-8 leads to Valkurm Dunes.

Map

The Map of Tavnazia, which includes Lufaise Meadows, is a reward from the quest Unforgiven.

Logging

Fishing

Fisherman can fish in the rivers at G-9 or F-8, the lagoon at I-7 and I-8 or the seaside at H-10 and I-10.

Ok, at 14:20, a DRAGON appears at the very eastmost side of the lake. You cannot fight or target it; its as interactive as the birds in windurst. You see it over the lake starting at the north, and it dive bombs near you, flies around, then back over the lake. Man was i spooked when i first saw it.

This may be worth a visit to this area, Haven't been to the map yet, and I love to explore new areas. Is there a board or link for just the CoP quests? And how do you get here? I haven't been to any of the connecting maps either, So I guess I have a lot of exploring to do.

This is true. Also, if you're looking at the ruins of Tavnazia at dawn (06:00), two dragons take off and circle the city for an hour or two.

Quite gorgeous to watch.

At (I-8) near the lake there is a "???" that spawns 2 NMs, after beating them and clicking it again, you get some bracelet key item. Does anyone know who starts this quest? (i am assuming it is a quest)

Hello MystBattalion,

This is for the quest "A Bitter Past." Talk to Frescheaue H-8 Tavnazian Safehold on the 3rd Floor. Then talk to Rominey J-7 on the 3rd Floor. Then talk to Equette on the 2nd Floor at the Alter of the Dawn.

Its easy. Good story. Long cutscenes.

Talk with Frescheaue again for the Reward.

Reward is the Yinyang Lorgnette.

After recieving the reward, talk with Equette again for more of the story. Its sad as stated in the quest description, but you will be glad you did it.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting :D

Something I found very interesting...

IF you go to the edge in the North East corner (J-6) Where you can see "Blueblade Fell" you actually see the town above the arched rock that was defended in the first CG animated cinematic at the beginning of FFXI. To bring the story around like this really plays a big role in why I adventure. I loved this site.

Here's a Pic: From The KoolAid LS website: Blueblade Fell

I was thrilled to find logging points here, as soon as I found them, I ran back to the taznavian safehold to grab some hatchets that I had stored away. I have found points near the bridge of the taznavian safehold entrance along F-7 and F-8. Further in too in G-6. G-6 however had tough monsters roaming the area such as leshy, a walking tree. Luckily there was a level 75 paladin killing them. Anyway my findings were:

arrowwood log
ash log
Walnut log
Oak log
Acorn log
Faerie apple

As a level 45 White mage, most enemies checked from DC to IT. I wonder if this could be the next Ifrit's Cauldron for Logging, where you can find lance and laquerwood =). If anyone has any other findings please add to this.

Complete logging
================
I-8 / I-9 (lake) ~3 points
G-6 (leshyville) ~5 points
F-7 / F-8 (bridge) ~4 points
================
arrowwood log (common)
ash log (common)
maple log (common)
faerie apple (semi-rare)
walnut log (semi-rare)
acorn (rare)
oak log (rare)
elm log (very-rare)
For safe logging here i recomend at least 55+ (at the time i'm 62 and nothing agros me in these areas) Also please, be nice to fellow loggers, this isnt the outpost and working together will help each other out (i find that 2-3 cooperative people work best since there are 3 general areas).

getting to Tavnazian Safehold
# Oct 05 2004 at 1:46 PM Rating: Decent
After exploring Lufaise Meadows a bit when I first finished all the Promyvion missions, I came back through the swirling vortez in Valkurm dunes to explore some more. The goal was to reach Tavnazian Safehold.

Exiting from the vortex, I chose a direction and headed west. After a while, passing by the coast, and a bridge (beautiful scenery), I was zoned and found myself in the safehold. The entrance that I came upon was at E-10 on the map. There is another entrance at E-8.

I didn't have a map when I came in through the vortex, so I don't know the <pos> for the vortex. I'll go back later to find out. ^_^

Hope this helps whoever wants to go to the Tavnazian Safehold.

Edit: The swirling vortex is located at K-8

again, there is no zone enterance to this area. so if you have been searching for a zone, you havent found one because it does not exist.
to enter here, you must first have cleared all 3 crags for CoP mission 1-3 and 1-4. then, after all 3 are cleared, you can be ported here via the "swirling vortex" in either qufim of valkrum dunes.

The Qufim vortex is in the tunnel that also leads to Behemoth's Dominion. Having not done any of the Crag mission's for CoP I just walked up and slapped the vortex a few times since it does nothing for me but swirl. That was a good way to kill about 2 minutes, then I left.

I explored this area a fair bit after completeing the mission. I was dumped into there as a 50 RNG (with level 30 gear) and explored later as a 61 THF.

There were a few EP at 61, but not much of it seemed agro, with the possible exception of some Dark Spriggan like creatures (dark, evil versions of Tarus, Humes, etc etc).

Still, be very careful in the NE area. The monsters there conned IT High Def to my 61 THF (making them possibly good exp?) and were giant bird types.

The rest of the area is full of medium tier (Footsoldiers, Bowshooters) orcs and gigas (EP to 50, twtbw to 60). There are also some Buggards there that apparently eat the sheep found in the area.
Ok I understand

You need to beat Promyvion Dem, Holla and Mea to reach this place. You'll be automatically sent there after you complete the third one, and afterwards it can be accessed via the vortices in Valkurm and Qufim.

Some helpfull Info.

Well I dont like to say somthing when information is still hard to find about thigs, it whould appear you must complete Promanthia Holla, Mea, or Dem, or course I dont know if you have to complete just one of them or all of them to enter this area, I tried to do Promanthia Holla tonight (Level 30 cap, get your items and level 30 gear ready.), things were going well we decided to follow a japanese party of 2 groups but our party got to much agress in the third level, without much info about this we were very poor in our plans, my party died and disbanded but I had reraise and followed my way up watching the Japanese going up and following after them. Promanthia Holla has 4 levels, in order to go up you have to kill a Big White Ball at the end of each floor thats spawns Strays to protect itself. The ball it self has some really nasty area attack that can knock you back about 10 times more then a Goblin rush, lol. Best to have rangers here and if strays agress your party pull the monsters back to a clear loction to have your tank hold them off while rangers and black mage hit the ball. Each floor gets harder up, thats why people form 3 partys to help each other up, each level up gets harder, best to from a big full 3 partys before going in, on the fourth floor you will not have to kill a ball but find the entrance to the room before the BCNM, in this room you can buff up also you wont have the level cap in this room of 30 like before but once you start BCNM you will go back to 30 cap, also only one party can do this at a time so the 2 or 3 partys you got can split up here. I got to this room and seen japanese groups go to fight, cant see how the fight is of course, but it must be hard since one group came out all dead. Anyway after some time I did searches of the names of people who went in to fight the BCNM and did not come back out since they won and found that they were in Lufaise Meadows. This looks like the way to make it.
Before going in the groups tested the items they were to use, seems like Yudago drinks and Selbina Milk will be helpfull, also one party had 2 people using ninja as main or sub using there copy images before going in, all I can say is I hope I can form good people this week to get this done myself, lol.

there is no zone enterance to this area. to enter here, you must first complete promyvion dem, holla, and mea. then you can be teleported here by entering a "swirling vortex" in either valkrum dunes or qufim.

I got to spend about 15 minutes in this zone on Saturday night, during the CoP launch party in Milpitas.

We were running level 60 characters on the Atomos test server. This is a grassy, hilly place not unlike the highlands. Lots of mobs here, including several new types of orcs and goblins (didn't get their names), big bull-like mobs called Bugarts, some gigas, and I can't remember what else. Everything was TWW for us.

Didn't find any zone exits, but I did find a rope bridge that crosses this amazingly gorgeous river gorge.
