I saw someone shouting in Jeuno for a WHM and decided to whip out mine and give it a go. It was a full alliance... of French people.

It was me and 17 French people lol

Besides trouble with links due to our size and some truly stupid people (my guess is half the alliance was either an idiot, badly equipped, or both, but that goes for most of my fellow adventurers...), we got there with few deaths, one of them mine.

Then we entered the BCNM and pwned that **** Empty like there was no tomorrow. So easy I can't believe I failed it before.
How?

Hey there!
I give up. I have looked, and I just cant find the info I am looking for.
How oh how do I get INTO Promyvion?
What I mean is, if I am standing at the shattered telepoint, how do I activate it to get into here?

Have you already completed the tasks in the first two Chains of Promathia missions (starting with The Rites of Life and Below the Arks)?

If you complete both of those, when you click on the Shattered Telepoint, you will get a message asking if you wish to Investigate Further? If you say yes, it will tell you the next zone is level capped at 30, then asks if you have finished making your preparations.

Good luck!

i did this bout a week ago with a 2 ls buddies one of which was a smn dcd so we spent bout 2 hrs gettin a replacement. we had a drg, sam, smn, rng, bmage n wmage for our party.(cant remember theyrs subs sorry). we made it through pretty easy to the boss with only one death which was our smn,who never doin this before, didnt have lvl 30 gear so we had a naked mithra smn. all in all we beat the progenerator with no trouble at all. the sam(me) n drg had war subs n kept voking when one of us was gettin banged up. smn 2 hrd at the start n used ramuh which did 400-500dmg. at half rng sam n bmage used theyre 2hr along with a psychoanima. it was a quik n easy fight, i dont think anyone even got in the yellow health. easyest of the promys by far. well thats just my story of goin there hopefully it can help someone out if need be.
Too easy.

After failing on Holla 3 times in a row, (1st on 3rd floor, 2nd on 4th floor, and 3rd on the boss) I decided to do Dem since I heard it was really easy.

Party Setup:
WAR/THF <me>
WAR/NIN
RNG/NIN
DRG/WAR (yes we had a DRG and we won, he was the also the only one with animas.)
SMN/WHM
SMN/WHM

We got to the boss without any problem (only 1 fake recepticle ^^;)(well the DRG was new at promyvions and used a pychoanima on a MR ><)

We got to the boss, rested up in the spire, and went in. The 2 SMNs used Astral Flow right away and started to pound on the boss. When the boss got to around 25% HP, me and the other WAR activated Mighty Strikes. The boss was dead shortly after that.

We beat the record by 1 second ^^. The old record was 3minutes and 49 seconds, and we beat it in 3 minutes and 48seconds ^^.

The WAR was transported to Lufaise while me and just about everyone else except for 1 SMN who already beat the promyvions was sent to the highlands.

Promyvion count:
Promyvion - Dem: 1-1
Promyvion - Holla: 0-3 ; ;
Promyvion - Mea: 0-0

lol! I've read some prety awfull posts on this page... ppl need to calm down about prymivions. They aren't hard if ppl calm down, do their job, and follow the leader...

I'Ve won 7 Promyvion yet, and failed 10. 8 of my failures are from back in the days they were hard...

When I form my parties, I always get:
1 WHM
1 TANK
1 SMN
3 DD
-------------------------------------------------
1 WHM (no need to comment this I think ! ^^)
-------------------------------------------------
1 TANK
I personnally greatly prefer PLD, for all Promyvion. Makes me feel a lot safer. if the Paladin has some Hi-Potions and def food, he will never get even close to die, and will keep hate like no blink tank could ever keep hate ! ^^
-------------------------------------------------
1 SMN
Astral Flow from 50% hp = kick in the empty's nuts !
-------------------------------------------------
3 DD
Now, this is the interresting part... we could deal with anything at these spots... even a thf if the 2 others are strong enough... What I usually look for:
-- SAM : (at 30, their damage almost equals RNG, have more HP, more DEF, and their 2 hour is also stronger then Eagle Eye Shot.)
-- SMN : (more Astral Flows = faster boss fight !)
-- RNG : (usual D with barage and eagle eye shot)
-- MNK : (their regular damage is great, Hundred Fists owns)
-- BST : (Jug pets are very usefull on floors and can help on boss, while the BST himself can provide either additionnal damage or additionnal curing...)
-- BLM : (duh ! Constant strong Damage, espescially if they learn to recognize mob's weakness)
-- WAR : (I like a lot less... constant damage is getting lower, lack of accuracy, mighty strikes miss too much.......)
-- DRK : (same as WAR, but 2 hour is simply useless, even if it hit harder then WAR, it's still not so good)
-- THF and RDM; the ones that don't have much to do in a promyvion... (-_-);

Here was our setup, which had seven people since an extra PLD came along:

PLD/WAR
PLD/WAR
DRK/WAR
SAM/WAR
BST/WAR (That's me ^^)
WHM/BLM
WHM/BLM

We did quite well. Due to my Beetle Earrings+1 and my Spike Necklace, I had 5 points higher attack as BST than the SAM (all from my armor, but it's all good). I was also keeping up perfectly with the DRK, doing 2-3 points less or 2-3 points more damage overall. Not the normal setup, but it worked very very well, proving that as long as the players ar smart and well-equipped, this can be a success story.

We had no idea where to go on the last level (none of us had ever gotten to the end of Dem), so we ended up going a bit slowly and just trying to avoid aggro while we hoped to see the zone-line. Unfurtunately, we got aggroed by a couple Weepers, which we beat. Then a Seether owned us like we were his personal property.

I see from this map that it looks like you simply stick to the Western turns on the fourth level, so please remember that when you have to do he Border Patrol Run, as one of our members put it.

But, I am quite proud of how well we did, as were the rest of us. Also, my BST was owning as usual (I even got a compliment about it from my WHM - who was afraid to say it since it might start an argument). Only person to beat me in damage was the DRK, so here's a toast to anyone who decided to act like punks and tell others that we are "worthless." I own you all, often and with great pleasure ^^.

/sigh

I will do my best to keep calm while saying this. I also greatly apologize for the length. I am on Cerberus server, so if you are upset with me, feel free to /tell me :)

BST is as good or better than DRK here. You want my proof? I just logged out from a failed Promy (people had to do other things and respawn was taking too long, you know how it is) with a DRK, and I was BST. I outdamaged him. Easily.

My overall delay with pet was probably about 325 (best guess the way my pets hit and the weapon I had) and I was dealing a lot less than the DRK, personally. Thing is my pet was dealing more than anyone except the DRK (melee, so not counting our awesome BLM ^^), so in combination, we were outdamaging the DRK by about 15-20% regularly. And for some reason my pets and I were hitting criticals like crazy and often at the same time, while the DRK wasn't hitting a helluva lot at the times I was checking. When doing a critical at the same time, we were doing 100%+ more damage than the DRK. I know all this because when people say BST suck, I can prove it with analysis and logic. That's why I tend to rant. It's easy to make bold, random, almost obscenely uninformed comments in a paragraph rather than think, analyze, deduce, and present.

Truthfully, my equips might have had something to do with it, but I wasn't wearing anything special except Beetle Earrings+1, and everyone and their mother wears those.

I also had a WAR sub so that so that I could voke strays off the avatars and pets and assist the PLD, which helped the damage dealing of course. Hey, guess what? At that level my defense was only lower than the PLD by the margin of a Protect 2 and a couple points. BSTs have defense above all others except WAR and PLD, the tank classes. Which means in an utter mess or emergency, a BST/WAR can and will be your saviour. Although if your team needs a saviour that badly, they probably suck or need to go somewhere else ^^

Simpy put, I was owning. And that's the way BST is: underated and EXTREMELY useful. Hey guess what? We can party just like you people, too! Amazing, isn't it? Sure, sometimes we take a hit to XP, but we've done it before and most of us honestly don't care. Plus, a BST/WAR taking first voke so a THF can SATA off a PLD is better than anything else, due to our high defense and "Killer" traits, which can intimidate a mob. We also happen to be fantastic pullers, using pets so we don't take damage, or just bows so we can pay more attention to where the mob chases us instead of our pets. And, once again, I mention our high defense Some people would actually have a DRG pull, which is laughable. I love DRGs, but having them take first voke or pull is dangerous, as their naturally low defense makes them, you know, get beat down hardcore. Plus, we're one of the few jobs that isn't gimped by the need for a specific sub when we party. NIN seems be be loved, since with two axes we are a force to be reckoned with and can blink while trying to distract a link for a while.

So, yes, BST is useful here as a damage dealer. Much like SAM, MNK, and DRK, etc. The point of these missions is to have some fun, no matter what. And having jobs better suited to the area helps as well (I still wish we had a RNG in our LS that was online and willing to go lol).

And just because a BST or two did something bad to you doesn't mean the rest are just like them. We are just like any other jobs, we have our a$$hats, but most of us are good folk trying to play the game (which is hard when after you enter a zone everyone tells you to fck off and leave >_<). Saying we should blist all BST cuz you met a couple a-holes is like saying we should blist all BLMs the next time one of them trains gobs on newbs and warps. Well, should we blist BLMs, or are we gonna be civil human beings for once?

Rate me down, insult me, blist me, contradict my theories which were proven no less than an hour ago, but you will prove nothing except your lack of ability to think openly and debate with respect.

Thank you to those who have listened, and I hope to have brought some light into the awesomeness of BST, and their usefulness as damage dealers, stray vokers, and emergency members in your Promyvion adventures. Good luck everyone, and I hope you bring a RNG lol

Edit: Anyone else think Allakhazam needs spellcheck? No? Okay, maybe I just suck at typing...

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 19 2004 at 3:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Methinks the only reason you outdamaged the DRK is because he was an idiot who didn't equip himself properly. On top of that, your pets probably wouldn't help much in the boss battle, if you can get any at all (I haven't seen any random mobs in the boss battles I've been in overall, and I haven't heard of any for this one either, so that means no pet in the boss battle; correct me if I'm wrong on that point, but I don't think I am from what I've read, which is that the boss battles are nothing but NMs, which a BST can't control). If someone with the STR of a WHM is outdamaging the DRK (with or without a pet), there is something seriously wrong. Might be why the mission was a failure. That's why equipment is a MUST. That's probably how you had such great defense as well, seeing as your VIT ranks with a WHM.

ROFL!!!

Dude, have you ever played FFXI? Have you EVER even seen a BST? VIT the same as a WHM? STR the same as a WHM? Im not a stat buff, I just have fun, but I'm pretty sure your off.

Frankly, I would normally just laugh myself to sleep at your flat out ignorance, but the Colts game doesn't start for a little while, so I figure I got enough time to rebuke your massive n00bness.

Point 1: BST don't make you lose XP, that TAKE a hit. It has been proven a million times. Ask anyone who has partied with me in Garlaige (both low and high level areas), The Kazham jungles, Valkurm Dunes, or Qufim. Only if you Charm a pet that is T, VT, or IT does the party take a hit, but a BSTs specialty is charming an Even or Decent.

Point 2: The DRK was fine on equips. In fact he was doing fantastic - I was really impressed at his damage. The reason I beat him was a COMBINATION of me and my pet. I was doing a little less than half his damage, and my pet was doing about 59% (calculated average - wow I'm a geek), so together we were doing more overall. Okay, so I exaggerated a little on my original post, but I was still outdoing him, but I suspect it was luck. I have partied with DRKs before, and only they could outdo me - a BST and a DRK on a team is a fantastic combination of outright power. I'm not counting THF using SATA, though, just the second-by-second hitting.

Point 3: A BST is never meant to be a frontline attention-getter, more of a speedy hitter who is good in an emergency and has a certain flexibility. Therefore, a BST/WHM or /RDM, while being lower on the power scale, will be great to have. After level 54 or so, a /mage is pretty useless in a pt, but having a class that can take care of themselves saves the WHM or RDM healer from worrying about someone else. Our usefulness is proven, and it is being proven moreso by the growing popularity of our class and the growing respect people are having for us.

Point 3: This was so funny, I literally laughed out loud, prompting my brothers to wanna see what the h*ll was so funny; I'm talking about that little thing you said about BST being useless since there are no pets around the NM. I mean, seriously, have you EVER played FFXI? We have those jug thingies... you know (actually you seem not only to not know but to not care), the ones that allow us to Call Beast and have a pet for a while. Oh sure, the damage and defense of most jug pets is laughable, but with nothing else around, we gotta manage somehow. My Tigers and CourierCarries were doing well against the memory receptacles and other mobs, though, so it wasn't all bad.

Point 4: BST don't get Leave until level 35, so before that we simply use natural pets that are easy to re-charm when we lose it, or Jugs. Jugs are weaker, but we don't lose control and can use a pet that has an advantage over a mob. I distinctly remember partying in Qufim Island and winning over a skeptical team when my PET outdamaged everyone... except the DRK, but you can't have your cake and eat it too sometimes =P

Point 5: I told you we didn't fail, we just had to leave. When your in a six person team and one has to go, let alone one of your mages, you can't really keep going. It doesn't help that we waited at least 30 minutes for a respawm of a receptacle and started getting a little pissed since we were short on time after waiting HOURS for people who didn't show (I'm lookin' at you, Peleus ^^) In fact I gave the WAR 72k so he could buy tanking gear, but that was secretly so I could prove that BST are useful here. And I did, so the investment was well worth it.

Point 6: The finale. No offense, but you seem to be a grudge-holder. A couple BST did you wrong, and now you join the cult of haters. Big deal, a couple people screwed you over. I've been screwed over a million times and I have yet to start caring. I am still the first person to heal someone in danger, protect a zone-line, or guide someone on a quest if I'm able to. Why? Because I've seen others do wrong and I refuse to be like that. I'm a Mentor, so I hold myself responsible for helping people who need it
So just because I chose a job for its uniqueness all the actions of me or my honorable brethren should just be ignored? Next time someone asks me for help, should they refuse my assistance because I might be a BST?

Once again, I'm sorry for the length, but I don't just throw out random statements - I prove them. If you want to start a flame war, do it with someone else and somewhere else, cuz I have said enough. Thank you to anyone who decided t read this long post, and double the thanks to anyone who decided to play a BST, invite one, or simply stop spreadin' hate because of this.

Okay, sorry, but how can you say (in your post way down) that you need to deal damage as fast as possible, but then say not to bring DRK, MNK, or SAM? They are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th best damage dealers respectively, and they can do Dynamis well enough, and Dynamis is MUCH harder.

SAM at 30 can easily keep up with the RNG, ESPECIALLY if he subs RNG (for better ranged attacks) or THF (for Sneak Attack). The same can be said about MNK/NIN or MNK/THF. DRK, of course, is a no brainer, although I would require massive ACC+ equipment on them, only the best of course.

From the sounds of it, you seem quite biased against these three great jobs. I do, however, agree with you about BST being useless here. They don't do very well in any real team situation, and their overall power is pretty low regardless of their sub (they've got similar STR and VIT of a WHM even, and you can verify that yourself, I just looked it up). I wouldn't say blacklist them all and what not, but I certainly wouldn't take them here. (Although I do hate BST for my own reasons. One started releasing pets on my friend's party in Crawler's Nest because they refused to leave so he could hunt there, and another got all the worms in Korroloka Tunnel killed trying to kill a spider, and he still died himself of course. So no repect for BST here.)

Anyway, the point is, don't dismiss three of the best jobs out there. RNG, NIN, and SMN are not the be all end all of everything. That's quite noobish, honestly.

I entered the Promyvions to farm Recollections for the Promyvion I'm doing with my LS in a few days, and when I typed [/sea] I found that there was a BLM63 that showed up on the list inside Promyvion - Dem. There must be an uncapped area of this, I'm guessing it's past the doors that I saw while climbing. Anyone know more about this?

It was just search lag. The guy had entered Dem from the Spire, and the fact that he was in the zone loaded, you searched, and then the cap was placed on him.

I THINK, if you reach the castle at the end, just before the BCNM battle, if you zone back out into the area, your cap will still be off. Just a guess, I've never tried it before. He probably went back to farm the "memories" to either sell or craft with.

here was my setup

rdm(me)
galka whm(^^)
blm
pld
rng
war/drg (yes thats right ><)

we didnt really do much strategy. the only reason i think we won, and considering the gimped war/drg,

was that me (the rdm),and the pally were both in all shade gear, and the blm was also well equipped.

good gear makes up for a lot. the pally intimidated the mob 8 times with his gear.

also 2 of us had psychoanima, although we didnt need two to win. that thing is great - papralyzes mob for 30 sec.

as a rdm, the way i used him was a melee/healer
i used all attack equipment (+17 attack). i used the correct enspell that corresponded for the mob. i managed to outdamage the pally. also i used most of my mp as healing and didnt use any enfeebs.

we won quite easily even though we didnt have the "ideal" setup, and set the record actuaally.

dont know if this had more to do with being done right after update though ;)

lesson i took form it: dont put so much stock in "ideal pt" most important thing is good gear. check that first. i had better pt fight before and not win. we had summoners, rangers, blm, war/nin etc.

but it lost. i tihnk difference was gear. especially shade gear.

Right on. This man has the right idea. Very few jobs are actually worthless here (in fact, BST is probably the only one, really); if the people involved know what they're doing, it can be done easily enough. I have no intention of levelling up specific classes just to do this quesy with jerks.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who demands that ideal party setup is a noob that I don't wanna party with anyway.

As said in the post I'm replying to, equipment and skill make ALL the difference. The ideal party crap is a crock of BS (especially when it leaves out three great DD jobs like DRK, MNK, and SAM).

Hey !
for those of you guys who tryied them, you may have noticed that Chains of Promathia missions aren't really easy... and since you need to reach ppl with apropriate jobs and that HAVE the CoP expension........ and that are not complete loosers... then Organising a CoP raid can be peticularly painfull...

about 1 month ago, I created CoPalliance to make it more simple...

Anyone who is not a looser and have CoP( :P ) is welcome...

For now, we are trying to concentrate on getting as much ppl as possible to chapter2; 2-3 of us are ther yet...

We have over all, over 40 members, even if most of them are very rarelly putting the perl on; they put it in Mog-house and forget aobut it ><

We need as much active members as possible (less active ones are also welcome)

I've created a Forum for our LS (again, too much ppl are too lazy to even register or visit it... >< But me and some members actually do... I've even posted faqs on it...

I also give perl sack to every members since we need as much memgers as possible.

and btw; this is not meant to be a "primary linkshell"; only a secondary one that you equip when you want to do CoP raids... and stuff related to it...

If you are interrested to join, and you are on Diabolos server and have Expension pack Chains of Promathia, please contact:
Johny (me) ( chapter 2)
Sidien ( chapter 2)
Hicks ( chapter 2)
Afrancis
Nitecrawler
Lema
Theloneranger
Michaelw
Dracs
.... those are the one I can remember ^^

went in here for the first time today with about 2 in a half pts allianced. we made it too the third floor (right before final boss floor) and had a aggro and 3 links killed our smn and one of our whms. '.' we were kinda freaked after that but after every1 was raised and healed up we kiled final memory recapticle, now this is when everything went wrong there were about 5 strays left and we were dieng we made a mad rush for the memory stream i made it and so did 4 others. one of them warped out and it was just us 4 left we start running around looking for spire of dem we go wrong way they all die. im all thats left i find spire of dem i go in i rest up and go into web of reccolection. progenator was hitting me for about 90-100 dmg (im 35war btw) and i die in about 5 hits. oh well this was fun and im looking forward to doing it again, we should all buy reraose scrolls with CP it would really help

I cant believe we pulled this off: rng/nin, 2 war/mnks (thats rite), like a sam or something, and a blm and a whm. 12 person alliance made for less aggro. Once we made it to Progenerator, we tried going in full force... bad idea... we escaped and zoned back and regrouped. Ended up going in again and tried it WITHOUT HAVING MELEE ATTACK... worked great. Just had war/mnks tank with voke, dodge and defender as needed and run around the room in a BIG circle. Attacking by melee spawns the little guys so big no no on that one (at least in our situation, not sure bout 2 war/NIN... i didnt have much luck with ONE war/nin previously, but it was pretty close). Used Hysteroanima last 3rd of hp, then went in with 2 hour after our whm went down (two party members ended up dead). By the way, whole pt gets cutscenes regardless of death, its just that someone has to kill Progenerator whos in yer party. Sorry this is so badly written im at work and fitting this in between bulls**t tasks. Good luck and dont give up, this was my fourth try and FINALLY got it. Warning tho: this was a close one, obviously.

This place is a cakewalk if you got people who know what they're doing and don't freak out if they get aggro.

It also helps to aviod aggro, esspecially on the 3rd floor.

Karakka (me) Monk/War
Kaisha Blm/Whm
Gwyneth Whm/Blm
Broli Rng/Nin
Dragon Pld/War
Alair Pld/War

We entered and buffed and Alair charged Progenerator and provoked with the rest of us following.

Broli took up post opposite the entrance and Gwyneth and Kaisha held back.

The 2 Paladins tanked it bouncing it between them while Broli and I kept pounding it with Gwyneth healing while Kaisha Nuked and backup healed.

At about 35% I let rip with hundred fists and Kaisha used Manafont. Alair popped invincible followed by Dragon when Alair's expired. Total duration of actual fight just under 4 minutes.

Progenerator used 3 special attacks during the fight. Stygian Flatus an AE Paralyze and Spirit Absorbtion, this was a 199 hp drain.

The third was Vanity Drive, unable to determine what it did as was used against a Paladin with Invincible.

Kaisha ran out of mp just before it died.

Total time from when we entered was 5:47 with no deaths, a new Asura record

Good luck to everyone doing this one

I find this Map is better than the one up there!!

http://www.benri.gotohp.com/MAP-Promyvion-dem.htm

the only problem is that... it's in Japanese...
so... guess like I do... hehe

btw, this link's map also show the pop point for the Map chest/point...

RED points = the point that u will pop out when u reach that lv of floor.
YELLOW points = the point to warp out or warp back to the level u came from... (level 2 to level 1 or lv.3 to lv.2)
GREEN points = MR pop point
BLUE points = Map chest pop point

This is not an outdoor area, far from it. You can tell by the fricking battle music. (Correction sent, or should be)

Anyway, that aside, all my Promyvion runs have failed due to people we call Idiots
Holla - Guy runs off, literally gets EVERYONE killed.
Dem - 6 person party, 2 SMNs, 3rd floor, Weeper spawns near MR right as portal spawns.
Dem again - Idiot decides to deathwarp on 3rd floor. No, really, he RAN into a Gorger.

I go as DRK/WAR and well, haven't really seen how that works in the BC. You people keep forgetting, DRK can do A LOT of Damage at lv 30, its just no one wants to try it. And, if they want a war/nin, then i guess I wont ever get past these Promyvions. My Nin is 1, and i have sold all my Ninjustu scrolls from the quests, and already have enough crap to buy for my DRK.

Granted, I wasn't in the most organized partial alliance in the world, but we won this the other day. I had fought the dem boss 3 times before on 2 runs and pretty much failed horribly and don't mention the mea runs where we didn't even MAKE it to the boss T.T

We went in with two full parties, mine was rng/???, rng/nin, war/nin, whm/blm, blm/whm, and my RL friend.... a nin/rng. I don't know what the other party had per say, but i think it was a rng, rdm, smn, thf, war/nin, and something...

Well, first floor, we make it through unscathed.. Second floor, little tougher, couple fake orbs, but we made it to the third. THIRD floor however first orb was fake, second orb, 2 ppl died and didn't make it, the other pts rdm and my pts rng, so we went back. After a little glitch where the rng "claimed" that he was still standing and couldn't see the tractor message, in which he fixed by alt-tabbing and coming back, we fought the orb again which had respawned. Well, wouldn't you know 3 ppl died this time... the rdm on the other team was one of them again, and she gave up and hp'd. When we asked her why she hp'd she said, " I didn't I swear!". Ok, so now we're a little peeved, so we go back, raise the 2 war/nins that were taken out T.T and the orb didn't respawn this time, so we sought out another, found it and rested up.
Well, we thought we were in luck, a JP alliance stopped by and started attacking strays and the orb, we figured they would help us take out strays so we started attacking orb/strays as well. So... when the orb was dead, we send the thf in first with perfect dodge on (knew he was good for something ^^;) and the jp alliance just runs in while we were pulling the strays.... now, the thf is running around with like, 6 strays on him we can't do much about killing them so we bolt for the portal, and the thf tries to hold out till the end of perfect dodge. needless to say everyone made it through but him. Now, we were pissed. Pissed more at the japanese cause they didn't help us, but moreso at ourselves for failing again, so my pt says, " ***** you other pt, we're not going back for your thf." Sorry, we were getting impatient.. it was 3a.m. for god sakes... So... the remaining four members of the other team found subtle ways to deathport and my pt continued to the spire, following the jps and letting them all get the aggro ^^;

Anyway, so the Spire of Dem, where we met the lovely boss that killed me thrice before, almost deleveled my 37 blm, whom i leveled up to 38 so i wouldn't. But this time, i had a plan. I would use my Blackmagedness to HEAL instead of nuke, not to mention i brought a Psychoanima on this run, i was damn lucky to get the recollection of fear on my first run but didn't know what it was at first. I brought with me 2 yagudo drinks too, i don't know what everyone else brought ,but that doesn't matter.

So we start the battle, the war/nin runs in and vokes, i do nothing but cure until it spawns the first offspring, of course rangers and nin are "nuking" war is voking and whm is healing. but when the offspring spawns(75%HP), i leave healing to the whm and nuke the HELL out of the first offspring. IT dies after 2 stone II's and a water II, i drink a yag drink. at 50% hp on the main boss, it spawns 2 more babies. This is where it got fun ^^. Used the psychoanima, and the boss just seems to forget how to attack! I scream"GOGOGOGOGOGOGOOGOG" and the war and 2 rngs both use 2 hrs and i spam firega. The main boss is down to just a sliver of health and the babies are just smoltering carcasses on the ground. we just meleed it till death. I didn't use my 2 hr or other yag drink was so happy! ^^

anyway, theres my story... lesson learned? BRING ANIMA!
Alliance? Why?

Hi all just a quick post to let you know that an alliance is NOT needed for any of these missions at all and in most cases makes them much harder because you are worrying about 18 ppl getting throught the ports as opposed to 6 I have completed all the 30 cap prom missions and Holla x 2 with 1 PT each time some jobs are definately more suited to the BC than others but if you want to go as a single PT and avoid aggro from all the strays I am going to give you a very big tip and one very useful piece of info.
The tip is for a pt of 6 ppl attempting this alone is to have at least one SMN in the PT this is not purely bcs their 2 hour is godly in the BC its more practical than that.
The best thing i found that helped my PT more than anything was to have the SMN cast Ramuh just as the MR (Memory Receptacle) is dead/dying Ramuh for all those that havent played SMN has an AOE attack that timed right will claim every Stray at the MR and use Ramuh as a whipping boy letting your PT walk to freely port in saftey.
These missions can be a true drain on time and patience my other tip is now you know an alliance is NOT needed do this with friends your temper will not fray as much and your experience in these hell holes will be sweeter for it.
on the 4th floor any mob without some crazy link a semi decent PT can destroy without breaking a sweat or resting MP afterwards so careful treading is recommended as a 1 PT group.

A note to the wise I will not knock any jobs as being bad/stupid/waste of space ETC but is sheer Fact that some jobs really cant function to their best in the BCs so pick carefully and have fun.

Really hope this helps some of you guys/gals that are worried about ending up in an alliance that for the best part of 4-5 hours that does nothing but argue and get you killed.

I would love to read other peoples opinions on my post good or bad, but it does work folks just patience is key to winning this thing. Good luck I look forward to reading your replies.

See you in Lufais Meadows

in regaurd to Rujind's post, that was a low blow to SAMs, a SAM/RNG with RNG equip actually preforms quite well here. give it a shot
