Description

Battles rage nonstop upon the dreary wetlands known as Caedarva Mire. The Lamiae, the Qiqirn of Nashmau and the fomors of the Near East are locked in an ongoing battle for control of the land. Meanwhile, the ongoing conflict is often interrupted by bands of adventurers looking to hone their skills. Years ago, the Mire was also the site of an epic battle between the Empire of Aht Urhgan and the Kingdom of Ephramad.

The Caedarva Mire encompasses four islands: Azouph Isle, Dvucca Isle, Sharug Isle and Hediva Isle.

I'll ask nicely...

The XP in Caedarva Mire is excellent! I was there as a 68-70 WAR the other night killing Imps and Jnun and we were pulling in 300xp a kill +/- on EXP Chain #1. Way better than those stupid Dhamel and Gobbies in Bibiki Bay.

Caedarva mire is like a Stock, higher risk = potentially higher return. The chances of dying out there is high but the XP is good. Specially with IMP AoE Silence and Amnesia.

Haraldic Imp = level 80-81 (Eh, they suck)
Jnun = level 72-77 (Axes and GAxe slice through these fools nicely)

Bibiki Bay Dhamels and Gobbies are like Bonds, more than likely you wont die so the XP is okay, not the best though. The worst thing out there is a Dhamels Healing Breeze which helps it recover about 1000hp.

HobGoblin Alaster = Level 76-79 DRK
HobGoblin Blagger = Level 77-79 THF (THF job high EVA btw sux)
Cetoblephas = 76-80 (High Defense)

With the new expansion, you could get away with never leveling in Bibiki Bay. You can go from Mount Zhalom straight to Caedarva Mire. TY SE for the expansion areas!
??? Found IT!!!

While going to the ??? to spawn the lamia for the Finding Faults quest I ran into another ??? in the same area. I wish I remembered what it said but after I checked it, it went away. I think it said something along the lines of “soil looked uprooted” or “looks like something was here”

It wasn’t the ??? for Finding Faults and it wasn’t the ??? for the fang key.

Any idea what it was?

Do not try and solo this thing even if you are 75 with full merits. I know there are a lot of people that post here that are helpful as cancer is fun. Everybody in this post except stokjock qualify as not helpful.

This guy hits very fast, and steals mp every single hit. I took away about 400 hp and not 1 dent in this guy. He hit me for at an average of 40hp per strike. This guy does seem to be on par with the monks 2 hour of 100 fists. I did not come close to bringing him to half life, so I'm unaware of any 2 hour he might possess. I am also unware if he will do anything with the mp once he has enough of it. (Thf)

I'd suggest a PLD tank that can hold hate without his cures, a whm healer to keep the pld alive, and a good DD. 3 75's should be able to kill him.

from my expirance of the few times iv fought this, it doesnt hit all that fast(although thats taking into account that the mob is always paralyzed and slowed when im fighting it), but its certainly nowhere near hundred fists and its accuracy when enfebbled is not very high. untill the chigoes spawn, i can solo tank this as 75 nin without ever taking a hit, just like a normal karkul. the first time i fought it i tried to solo it and got it to 85-90% before i died from the second round of chigoes, solo with subtle blow+s it doesnt ws very often.

i definitly wouldnt recomend trying to solo it, but it is tankable by a nin as long as someone iv very fas to kill the chigoes. considering the next to nothing the gloves are worth on my server though, its hardly worth the time it takes to kill it.

I saw this posted over at FFXI-Atlas.com

Speak with Ahaadah at the Philosopher's Alley in Aht Urhgan Whitegate to recieve a cutscene.
After this go to I-11 on the docks under the half shack roof, and get another cutscene.
A third cutscene is right on the path above the shack, at I-12 at the end of that path.
After this, you are sent to find Alcander in Bhaflau Thickets. He is found at I-8 by clicking on the ???. After another cutscene, a NM Plague Chigoe pops. It's a MNK type mob, hits hard and fast. Kill the NM and check the ??? again.
You will receive your reward of the map after the cutscene.

The new pack will be great for all of us...
# Apr 15 2006 at 9:13 AM Rating: Decent
I have read on various websites and SPECIFICALLY on playonline.com that the new expansion pack is for all levels....sort of like all of the other cities in the game, the farther you venture out, the more treachorous it can be....except in the new pack, the mobs will be able to enter the city at certain times . I think the new expansion will allow for more adventuring, than gil...one can only hope. The graphics look great and it seems the new characters will close the gap on some mob fights too. Thanks SE for always thinking of new ideas to allow us high levels to play the game and have fun doing it.

Good Luck everyone and see you all in Aht Urhgan.
