Description

The Wajaom Woodlands cover a vast stretch of land to the west of the Imperial capital. The name "Wajaom," meaning "abundance" in the language of Aht Urhgan, is a fitting term to describe the rainforest tract that also encompasses the Bhaflau Thickets to the north.

The areas are home to a rich variety of fauna, from birds that hover in the air with their rapid wingbeats to bees that build hives of enormous size. Once the Imperial Army's watchtowers and patrolled routes allowed children to safely enjoy berry gathering in the forest, but due to the Empire's weakened defenses, the woodland paths are now used by the Mamool Ja for raids on the Imperial capital.

Points of Interest

  • The Dark Rider appears in various areas of this zone. This NM cannot be defeated.
  • Players can get amazing experience on Lesser Colibri as they approach level 60.
  • Entrances to Mamook can be found at D-12 and F-13.
  • The tunnel at C-8 leads to Halvung.
  • Using an Oldumm Ring transports players to the ley point at G-8.

I found a HNM in there... It named Dark Rider. It really LOOK like Odin! O_O It killed a 75lvl party. He ran away and left his friend imps play with them. >.> (I was sitting and watching them lol)

all i can conclude is that (i've checked)SOME of the mobs in this area pose IT++ or higher to a lvl 55 (i'm a lvl 55 rdm), and VT to a lvl 60. And i've heard conformation from a lvl 75 friend that some mobs in surrounding areas even pose as EP to even EM to lvl 75's. In my opinion, SE has not created an area soloable by anyone except HL and as you go farther out it gets worse, which is completely unfair, especially since it means that practically no one w/ a HL job can venture outside for quests alone without worrying about being killed. So this proves that this is NOT another lower lvl area like we would like to think it is, like perhaps Konschtat or even Kazham. Overall, i think the setup of all these areas is not fair to someone who is not HL and it seems as though it is limited only to that. It's just wrong that ppl who are not HL cant participate like they had hoped in the new expansion without any HL help. (even some HL have trouble)

(And whats the point of making so many ppl excited about the expansion if only a number of ppl can handle them? I was excited until i decided to check up on a scrawny looking imp that nearly killed me with linking and Aero III, i was lucky to escape ><)

Yep. as WHM54/BLM27 everything was IT. PRobably still the same at WHM56. However, I did hear from a MNK58 in my linkshell things checked as VT to him. So instead of saying, "OMG, this place is t3h suxx0rz", I bet if you wouldn't mind a few deaths and trying to find the right mobs, this is a viable XP area for the mid 50s, possible alternative to The Boyahda Tree or Kuftal Tunnel. If anyone tries that out I'd be interested to know how it went
Actually

actually at lvl 55 it is a great place to lvl, i have a lvl 56 DRG and all the mobs were IT, i then went back in wiht my lvl 68 whm and they were all DC to me except the Marids which were still IT to my whm. So i cannot wait until i can exp pt in that area lol

It's so obvious why SE made it for high level people. They goofed on CoP and pissed a lot of people off with their nonsense level 30, 40, and 50 caps. Go do that **** if you want some fun. The majority of the people that play the game have high level jobs, so why ***** everyone again and not allow them to use their high level abilities with another area level cap.

I check a few Mobs here (58RDM/WHM) all were VT.

Well it would seem with an addition of three new jobs even the highest level players will now be back down to level one. The addition of these new lower level areas is a smart step seeing is how not everyone has every single job at 75 and the idea of going back and leveling new jobs in new areas is more appealing than going back to the dreaded Dunes!!!
So it seems

I have read on various websites and SPECIFICALLY on playonline.com that the new expansion pack is for all levels....sort of like all of the other cities in the game, the farther you venture out, the more treachorous it can be....except in the new pack, the mobs will be able to enter the city at certain times . I think the new expansion will allow for more adventuring that it will give back in treasure and gil...one can only hope. The graphics look great and it seems the new characters will close the gap on some mob fights too. Thanks SE for always thinking of new ideas to allow us high levels to play the game and have fun doing it.

Good Luck everyone and see you all in Aht Urhgan.

So it seems that not all the new areas will be high lvl.

Can't really tell until we see the mobs and such. Nothing we know yet tells us it's a low level area. I'd guess it would be of about Kazham difficulty, at least the parts right outside the city. Maybe a little better, or a little worse.

But what use is speculating? =P We'll have it in less than a week.
