How can you get this? I looked at it and it said "Found in Selbina" but I checked the quests for here and it wasn't listed as a reward. In the sword's thread it indicated that it was one.

Nomad Moogle and Chochob
# Nov 26 2004 at 1:23 PM Rating: Good
U know what we really need is a Nomad Moogle and a Chocobo's Stable in Seliban....mabye even a AH. I mean comeone how many times have u been lvling in valkrum and need ur next set of armor but u arent about to run back to sandy, Bastok, Windy or whereever else u may go. So in stead u just walk into seliban go to the nomad moogle or go the the AH get what u ant and go back to lvling without even having to leave ur party.

Also chocobo stable would be nice to becasue Seliban and Jueno are the, in my opoinon, the two places in Vandelin that u can basically travel anywhere to.

Heres any example... ur lvling thf for u wars sub and ur war is like lvl 37. So once u get thf up to 20 u can instead of having to walk back to Bastok or Sandy u just go into seliban...go to ur nomad moogle...buy new gear from the AH and sell gear at the AH if needed....then take ur chocobo out for a short run to Crawlers Nest where u can imediatly get back to lvling.

Right there you've got about an half hours to an hours worth of chores done in a matter of minutes. Well thats just my dream and i hope SE will take this dream and make it realitly. Well thats all for now and be sure to rate me up ^^

As good as that sounds you have to realise that SE arnt going to do that just for conveiniance they arnt out to make your life easier in such cases as this
Anyways Its not so hard to run back to bastok if you have to Ive never had any problems apart from boredom
but being waited hand on foot with AHs and mog houses everywhere would make the game boring

Is there a place here where you can buy equipment like the armor shops in Bastok Markets?
Skulls
# Aug 02 2004 at 8:57 PM Rating: Decent
I have to say that the easiest place to get the Magicial skull is go to the Gusgen Mines in Konschat Highlands. I don't remember the exact location there but, there are ghouls all over the place in there. Just thought that i would add that. bad spelling lol

The <pos> on the Konschtat Highlands map for the entrance to Gusgen Mines is (L-7) if that helps.

Question about "Only the best" quest

I just have a quick question about a quest, I figured it was more likely to get a speedy reply here.
When doing the quest, "Only the best", do you get the fame for it if you only turn in the cabbages? I have a ton of them and want to turn them in for fame so I can move on to a bigger quest in sandy. If I have to turn in all three items befor my fame is affected, I'll just wait and build fame another way.
Thanks.

The items and counts that the NPC is asking for are for each repeat of the quest. You do not need to hand in all three of the items, just correct quantity of one of the three items.

If you want, you can show up to Selbina with an inventory nearly full of millioncorn and hand him 3 at a time and get a successful 'repeat' and some gil for each time. If you use the other items, you need to hand the correct count for that item each time.

This is a great quest - I had lev 7 Windy fame, lev 4 Sandy and 1 or 2 Bastok, and repeating this one about 40 times opened up Gobbiebag 3 and 4 for me.

Selbina/Mhaura?
# Apr 01 2004 at 12:38 PM Rating: Decent
Selbina is the coolest place I saw sine I began playing FFXI in november, for only 1 reason, the music ^^ So fun heh heh. Btw, is it easier to complete de subjob quest in Selbina or Mhaura?

It really much depends.. if u have a high level player helping you.. I say Mhaura...since the Bogy will be easy to kill...Now if u have a party of ur level. then Selbina would be best for you.. since the Ghouls is easy comparing it with the Bogy.. The only thing that is kinda freaky is that you know where the Bogys are.. they are only at the Beach.. Now the Ghouls on the other hand.. you have to look for them in the WHOLE area. So u got a catch going on. ^_^

Selbina is much easier, since there are lots of parties there, you'll bound to get the components. Hardly anyone is in the Mhuara area on my server.
Valkurm
# Apr 01 2004 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
the boat from Mhaura to Selbina can EASILY be travelled by low level characters...just stay below deck, or go to the upper deck and be careful of aggros on the lower deck...you can also fish from the stairs, and you wont catch monsters

for the blm who was scared of the cave...dont be...usually someone is in there killing stuff, and you can usually avoid the aggro...and even if a bat catches you, run to Konschtat, you can make it, and more than likely some party will pull the aggroed bat off of you...

Supposedly, it shouldn't even be a problem to be up on top of the deck now, since mobs pulled up should only attack/ be attackable by the player who pulled it up.

In other words, Selbina is quite open to windy newbies.

(note: this wasn't the case before the update, which is when kriegsdrachen posted this, so please don't rate him down)
Travelling
# Mar 17 2004 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
Haven't tried it yet, but I was told that whenever you are doing a dangerous run like to Jeuno or crossing the sea in the boat at a low level. Go to the mog house and change jobs to a lvl 1. This way if you die en route. No xp was lost. Just takes up more of your time at your destination to revert back to your original job.

RE: Maps
# Jan 30 2004 at 10:15 PM Rating: Good
Yes, actually. There is an NPC right at the gates who sells various maps, if I remember correctly. I didn't check to see if there were any exclusives though, seems like its the same thing you can buy in San'Doria, but I could be wrong.

The only thing I hadn't already bought at Windurst was a map of Jeuno, and I'm fairly certain you can buy that in Windurst, so no exclusive maps here.
New Quest?

I was in the Weaver's Guild shop and talked to the mother there, and I got a cutscene talking about the daughter in the next room and her background...anyone know anything about this?
RE: New Quest?
# Jan 28 2004 at 8:25 PM Rating: Default
I have a hunch that may be the little girl from the opening movie. I know that Aldo (the little boy) is the leader of the Tenshodo. When you talk to her mother, she says something about the only thing her daughter can remember is the name of a boy... who must have been important to her.
