Description

Located to the east of the Kingdom of San d'Oria, Jugner Forest was the site of the Orcish Hosts' invasion of the Elvaan territories. The Beastman Confederate advanced on Jugner with one hundred thousand soldiers to the three hundred that were sent to Marquis Rouhent from the Royal Knights under the command of Count Aurchiat. After that sobering defeat, the capture of the village of La Vaule was imminent. The Orcish Hosts have turned this forest into a dangerous maze of barricades and pitfalls, hoping to maintain their foothold in this area at all costs...

MapNavigation Map

Navigation Map - Shows the three areas you can move around within the zone. You can move from the green area to the red via several one-way bridges, but all other movement between these areas requires passing through Vunkerl Inlet (S) with the exception of the gate at (H-7). This gate is marked in purple on the map. To open the gate, you must possess the permanent key item, Sliced Pole. Someone with the Sliced Pole can open the gate for others.

pos G-9

is the tele point. Maw is H-11
I have traversed this are MANY times as my 62 SAM/nin and have had not one problem.
Easy peezy and mapped it all myself.
The map posted in the link above is pretty good but didint show you the Tele spot.

It is annoying the main pathways are cut off every chance the beastmen had to build something they made sure to cut you off completly.
Its a drag to go all the way around to get to the portal (maw) but in the end
it's all worth it lol.

Have fun try to travel the areas in the daytime! ( if your not 75 as I have seen plenty of 75's dead on my travels.)

i do have a rdm at 70 but my sam is mo fun :P

Guide to Jugner Forest [S]

Since no one has written a guide on getting to Jugner Forest [s]'s campaigne battle post for their very first time, I will compose one. I am assuming you are going to be traversing these zones with a level 75 job.

You will need:

6 Sneak Oils
6 Invisible Powders or Tonko Tools
Basic beastiary knowledge

'The How To:'
1.) If trying to get to Jugner Forest [S], your first step is to get to Batallia Downs [S]. You can get here through the Cavernous Maw, by warping from campaigne nation to Batallia Down [S] outpost, or by zoning in to Batallia Downs [S] from Rolanberry Fields [S]. Either way, make your way however you can to this zone.
OBJECTIVE: Make your way to Batallia Downs

2.) Your next step is to zone from Batallia Downs [S] to Jugner Forest [S] at (F-9) on the Batallia Downs [S] map. I had no aggro as a level 75 THF/NIN here. I checked everything I came across and all mobs that I could see checked too weak. Check your mobs and make preperations to menuever around them should you find yourself in a perdicament. Only mobs I saw were some goblins and a couple tigers, both again checked too weak.
Batallia Downs [S] Map
OBJECTIVE: Arrive safely at Batallia Downs (F-9) and zone into Jugner Forest [S]

3.) Once inside Jugner Forest [S], make your way to (L-6) on the map. Its a quick walk from zone to zone here. You may come across some aggroing Igniss Djinn (classified as 'Djinn' but look almost identicle to snolls). Save your invisible powders and Tonkos for the next two zones. Instead, patiently wait until they move out of the way and then pass them. You will also come across some Stag Beetles but these checked Too Weak or Easy Prey (-).

OBJECTIVE: Arrive at (L-6) and zone into Vunkerl Inlet [S]

4.) Vunkerl Inlet is the toughest part really. So far, all zones have been identical to the ones in the present. This is a completely new zone. See map from www.ffxi-atlas.com. You will need it. Map also included in link form at the bottom of this portion of the guide.
a.) You'll end up zoning into here at (F-4). You first obsticle is to reach the bridge located at (H-6). Here, your going to have to make an assessment of which mobs you will need to have oils or powders/tonko for. On my way, I saw Tigers, Djinn's, Bugards and Sapplings. Of course sapplings don't aggro, they do link. Tigers and Djinn's aggro to sight, tigers track by scent so it would be wise to use Tonko/Invisi items when you first come across tigers. Bugards aggro to sound. All of these mobs in this zone con easy prey but with low defense. They would aggro so use caution and find refuge on the bridge on (H-6) once you arrive there. There were no mobs on the bridge from what I remember and the view is pretty awesome.
b.) Next obsticle is to reach the bridge at (I-7). Real simple. There may be a tiger or two in the way but you may possibly be able to get passed all of these without any powders or oils. Try and do so if you can.
c.) Next is to get from (I-7) to (F-10). This part will take a map and some sense of direction but can be easily navigated. First, head West/Southwest from the bridge at (I-7). Then continue heading West/Southwest until you reach (G-9) and then head straight south. Since the bridge at (I-7), you should have encountered Smilodins, Goblins, Treants, Sapplings, Djinn's, and Bugards. From here though, you will now be in the company of all of these plus Orcs, Crabs, Leeches, Morbols, and Flytraps. If you are going across Vunkerl Inlet [S] at night, then you may see Skeletons, Ghosts, and Bats. During lightning weather, you could even see Thunder elementals so ye be warned. Its best to have both Sneak and Invisible up the whole time while passing through this area.
d.) Next, zone back into Jugner Forest [S] at (D-10) from (F-10). Just follow the path. You should see aggroing mob the entire way but keep Sneak and Inivis on and you should't have any problems.

OBJECTIVE: Safely traverse Vunkerl Inlet [S] (F-4) to (D-10) and zone into Jugner Forest [S]

5.) Now inside Jugner Forest [S] but now on the correct side, continue slowly North hugging the left wall. There were Orcs; Tons of them and Igniss Djinn's again. Invisi up and continue north. Stay straight north hopping over a log that has fallen across the creak and keep heading north to (I-8). The stronghold is located where present day Jugner Forest Outpost is located.
Jugner Forest [S] Map
MISSION COMPLETE: Arrive at Jugner Forest [S] stronghold at (I-8) and participate in first Jugner campaigne battle.

Wish someone wrote this for me when I was looking for this place. Anyways, I went as THF during the day time and had no aggro. With Rogue's Poualines additional Flee effect, I was able to make it through Vunkerl Inlet [S] to Jugner Forest [S] using only 2 Sneak Oils and 3 Tonko tools on the first try so its not entirely difficult.

Hope this helped.

Goodluck!
