So heres the thing... I have a 55WAR... I started the AF hands quest with WAR right before i took up MNK(AF hands for WAR is in crawlers nest.. same as AF hands for MNK is in crawlers nest...) my MNK is now 52 and im getting the AF ready... so i poped the coffer here last night as MNK and "Obtained Hi-reraiser!" ... soo err ok i realise that i havent done MNK AF1 so i do that... and i did the lv52 AF boots quest too... come back get another key and pop tyhe chest again... "Obtained 8,000gil..." ok so now im thinking i have to do the WAR AF hands quest first... get another coffer key.. pop the chest as war... then kill dark spark... then repeat with MNK... i really dont want to do this as it means i have to get 2 further coffer keys... alot of money in silent oils... and get help TWICE with dark spark... is there any way around doing the WAR part of this so i can just carry on with MNK? please help xD
hello, i was wondering if making a party here with my 34THF was ok...

The "Get Rich Quick" thought about theives isn't what you think it is... We spend the same amount you do plus what we need to keep up with DD's past 60. Its a hard life.
In CN when puller pulls 2 Worker Crawler. Yeah. Great pt for 2nd time in there and only get 1500 for 9 crawlers. I should have checked pt for 2 whm but in my anxiousness to gain lvls I suddenly lose my mind. Don't think Garlaige is only place for linking(or any place in fact)is what I'm trying to get across.
One of my first times in the Crawlers' Nest, an odd thing happened to my party. Shortly after we entered and were running through the tunnel, we had Ifrit speak to us. I can't recall exactly what he said, but I believe it was along the lines of, 'meet me deep in the nest, if you can make it.' There was a smn in my party, and I'm not sure of they had Ifrit summoned or not, but I don't think they knew what it was about either. Anyone happen to have an explanation?
Alright nevermind, it was a perfect place to go. As soon as I zoned into the nest a scorpion used its TP Claw attack and killed me... Then walks away. Not killing the other 8 people standing at the zone. Just me. Taru Eater... 40WHM/20BLM Now though. Time To work on fame for tele quests and Getting that rank up. XD
GO to GC Most would say goto GC til 35 and some will stay in GC til 37 rather than change maps to finish leveling a sub job. at 32 you outgrow the jungles. I would say to steer clear of CN til 34 as a mage or 35 as melee.
It seems that there is a hole that i need to drop into the coffer area. Not the 2 easy spot but the more anoying one below level. I died 2 times looking for the cofferT_T Please anyone help me or post website with more detail map.
I got my coffer off of the section where there are 2 coffer spawn points. However; my sister is having severe problems as NO coffers are spawning. She even went down below and didn't find any.
Here's where she got the Coffer and Chest location points. This is a fantastic website.
can someone put a message up tht is helpful for those looking for coffer locations, looking for whm af and all i see if stories and explanations about the area even under quest item. i just want to know were to find the coffer

Tried camping coffers here for my AF gloves. After spending a while at the Rumble room off of the Exoray/Blazer Beetle area, I decided to try my hand at the other location on the map that leads to the Simurgh spawn in Rolanberry.
Bad idea unless you have high level assistance. Lack of safe spots, and you'll burn through Oil/Powder without a mage to sneak you. There are more points in this area, but it's far riskier as everything aggro's near these coffer spawns. I had to duo a Rumble Crawler that conned DC at 56 (Along with RDM 42) and the only thing that saved me was 2HR.
I saw a couple of questions about the "Strange Apparatus" but couldnt see an answer to them...
If anyone knows what the deal is with the password can they please let me know?? I saw the thing with the chip and infinity core, but do you also need a password?? Or is that basically it?
I am usually camping in the "white room" right now, so it will save me a trip on finding out later =P
i went exploring crawlers nest alone yesterday with both a chest and a coffer key (i didn't need it for my AF) & i got:
9900 gil from the chest 10230 gil from the coffer
just letting everyone know =^,^= i still have a ranperre chest key, garlaige chest key, kuftal coffer key, boyahda coffer key & quicksand coffer key...i'll take them on next time i'm bored.
The password is still unknown (or at least unknown to me and ppl who know it arent talking)
The one you saw in CN takes a blue chip and an infinity core. Dont remember the price for chips offhand but infinity cores are going 18-20K on Bismarck. Chips can be purchased from Gob sellers in Sandy, Bastok, and Windhurst and Infinity Cores are under Other in AH. They sell a number of different color chips that correspond to strange aparatuses across the world. Note the color at the top of the apparatus to know the chip color. Trade both infinity core and chip to receive a reward.
Be careful...this is more addictive than crack and before you know it, your gil is gone...but some of the items are worth A LOT, so take you chance. Hope this helped...

I thought that I should point out that the password has been broken. once you figure it out its very easy. you will only need to enter your password once and from then on you will always be registered as a "doctor" for that specific apparatice. for those people looking the answers are out there. /tell me on Unicorn (Sosuke) if you need help with this. and btw being a doctor makes your drops significantly better.
Now at 49-50 you got options you can do Chamber beetles at Garlaige citidel Chamber beetle (56-58) or Helm beetles at Quicksand caves Helm beetle (51-58) (these will sustain you till 50 or so)
we were taking these at 41-45 and chaining them quite easily......
My first Party in the Crawlers nest was great we were lvl 34-36 we had PLD, WHM, RDM, SAM, THF and me DRG. Those Worker crawlers were quite easy with rdm casting dispel when the crawler used cocoon and the whm with erase when we got slow (very bad thing for DRG were slow enough)
During my first session in the Crawlers' Nest I got in a party that expected me (the samurai) to be the main tank. I suppose that works for some people, but when that didn't work out they got mad and booted me. It's not my fault I'm not cut out to take loads of damage...
only thing missing is somewhere to zone..but there enough people to help you about
i must also add that i was the only tank in a party there as a lvl 36/18 warrior/white mage and nobody died......loads of xp............ long live the ghetto paladin

crawlers nest is so annoying i was zoning 2 beatles and there was like 50 solger crawlers that someone had allready zoned and the rocked me in like 1 hit lol
lmao, lol, sorry, it's just your situation sux, lol, but you can't say it's not a great place to lvl, always mobs to kill and ppl will help if you call for it. sides, if you don't expect to die every so often, how'd you lvl enough to make it the CN
I just went here for the first time tonight, and I was surprised at how well we were doing for our level. We went in, evenly split between 31 and 32, set up camp close to the entrance, and pulled Worker Crawlers for ~200 a pop. Relatively painless, too, though I have a feeling our group was a good one. :P
Reltively few mishaps, compared to what might happen at a similar level in Garliage Citadel. Went a pretty steady 2-3k an hour. If you feel so inclined, 32 seems like a fine level to start here if you know what you're doing.

I know Crawler's Nest is located in area G-11 of Rolanberry Fields, but I cannot find the actual entrance to the dungeon. What area of G-11 should I concentrate on?
Maybe this will help, its the path i took. The numbers in parenthesis after mobs names are the levels of the mobs, not the party needed to fight them.
From level 31 (assuming you level to 31 in yhoator jungle)
I got level 32-33 in sauramunge Champaign killing evil weapons. Suprisingly easy to chain with a good pt, and manages to close that gap between the Jungle and Garlaige Citidel. Evil Weapon (36-38)
At 33 i began partying in Garlaige, on the bats near the entrance of the zone. These will take you to 34, and adding beetles will take you to 36. Seige bat (40-43) Borer Beetle (41-44)
At 36 i went to crawlers nest, where we chained soldier crawlers and began doing nest beetles and soliders. The crawlers nest can sustain parties all the way to 53+ before it runs dry, but its difficult to close certain level gaps, and ill explain.
from about 35-37 worker crawlers Worker Crawler (40-44) 37-41 nest beetles and soldier crawlers Nest Beetle (45-47) Soldier Crawler (47-49) 39-40 (one of the gaps i mentioned, when solider exp begins to dry up, but hornflies are still pretty tough) 40-43 hornflies, occasionally the blazer beetle to end chains. Hornfly (50-53) 43-46 blazerbeetles and exorays Blazer Beetle (52-54) Exoray (51-54) 46-49 At this point you can do either: rumble crawlers Rumble Crawler (53-55) Or funnel bats @ garlaige Funnel bat (51-55)
Now at 49-50 you got options you can do Chamber beetles at Garlaige citidel Chamber beetle (56-58) or Helm beetles at Quicksand caves Helm beetle (51-58) (these will sustain you till 50 or so)
from 51-52 i enjoyed killing anticans at Quicksand caves. Antican Hestatus, Princep, Signifier (52-59) (I beleive the levels of ants are aera specific, as in 1 part of QS has lower level ants, while another part has higher level ants, where we leveled off of them, the entrance to that QS area was in western altepa, about 4 squares south of rabao or so.)
52-53 Kuftal tunnel, robber crabs, of which i do not know the exact level ranges, anyone in the pt dinging 55 will kill the exp from these. Beware, Guivre, a massivly deadly high-level wyvern NM spawns here daily, and patrols the entire tunnel untill despawn or is destroyed. zone immediatly upon sighting, can kill most ~50's in no more then 2 hits. do not hesitate, warp out, escape, run, whatever. Note: does not have truesite, cast invis before detect to be safe untill it leaves room. then sneak/invis to zone.
54+ say hello to boyhada tree, and its bark spiders and robber crabs. Thats as far as i've gotten, im at 54 right now.
Just so you'd know, level 34-36 i leveled VERY easily chaining Dhalmels and Beetles (beetles for a quick chain boost, they suck). If your PT knows what theyre doing you can do many mobs ahead of the game. I had a NIN, SMN(fenrir), MNK/thf(me), RDM, and THF. we hardly did skillchains, but if you do red lotus > viper bite > sneak attack + boost + combo ... ho ho ho >:D i hit it like 270 dmg combo, 170 dmg SC
~*that might not be the exact SC, i only remember it was a liquification i chained my combo onto.

you can actualy lvl off of antican rngs(its not the real name just look for the ants with quivers on the back) in western altepa lvls 34-38 great exp for very little work and nice drops too the dark crystals will help you get your next set of gear.

nowa days things changed everyones ashamed of the youth cuz the truth looks strange and for me its a first. we left them a world thats cursed and it hurts. cuz any day well push the button and all the good men like malcom x and bobby hutton die for nuttin.gonna make me get teary the world looks dreary. when you have your eyes seeing clearly theres no need for you to fear me if you take your time to hear me maby you can cheer me.
So im not to the Crawlers' Nest yet but im a 33 DRG/16SAM and reading some of the other post it doesnt really say what lvl you leave here and wher you go. Can somone help me out with this i of course dont need to know atm but it would be nice to know where i have to go after in case i need to get a map or something.
A lot of people go back to Garlaige Citadel at level 47 or 48. It is still not the best place so what i do is hang around jeuno and hope for a invite to altepa or something.
I was digging around for about an hour for a coffer for my AF (WHM) and I checked all the coffer spots, and I couldn't find one. Are the spawns of coffers random, set intervals, or do they just simply not like me?
Aggro. This happened to me yesterday. Sneak dropped and soldier aggroed and I hauled butt to the sack room linking 6 crawlers on the way. Whadda NOOB. Later with Sneak on I forgot about keeping Deodorize on and linked two beetles. Two deaths. Later, having learned my lesson I had Sneak and Deodorize on and ran in front of the Blazer Beetle on accident. TAG! I was it. Horrible day too, spent all day trying to get in parties!
No enemies aggro by scent. Scent detection enemies refers to some enemies using scent to follow your "trail" even after you have left the area (for isntance if you bind or sleep them they will still pick up your scent). Beetles aggro on sight, but it can be hard in a dark cave to tell which end is the head >.<
if u finish a LONG~ quest in selbina~ u will be awarded a large sum of gil as well as a map of NM. Talk to the presdient of selbina to obtain the quest
i opend two chests and am going for my third :P...if u do it alone u get a gigant axe (maybe something else too but thats all ive gotten so far. if ur in a party every just gets like 4k or whatever
Last night was a great time in the nest, and ranks up there with the best exp parties ive had up to date. Party consisted of (starting levels): me - 40 pld/war 40 whm/blm 41 rdm/blm 3 41 rng/nin
I was iffy going into the pt, because of the hi change of not being able to keep the hate. however i was able to, and with refresh and regen, there was no downtime, and we were storming through soldier crawlers, about 4k exp per hour.
Too bad then the whm had to leave...had to work an early am...stupid real life gettin in the way, lol peace

You get the map of Crawler's Nest by completing the first 15 'monument rubbings' on the 'An Explorer's Footsteps' quest, given by Abelard in Selbina. This will take a while to do as you will need to find the monuments in many of the 'outdoor' zones, going to Selbina after each one to hand it in to Abelard (who will give you another piece of Selbina clay for the next one).
i got the key in my party today, incredibly someone shouted the pos of the chest 15 minutes after i got the key, i rush to the pos which was across the room from where i was (one square, lucky me) and, not thinking, open the chest giving all my party members 4.6k -.- i was rather angry after finding out where the money went but my nice party deserved it ..plus i got another key an hour later..haha
btw the key was called: Nest Key or Nest Chest Key (or something like that) not crawlers nest key crawlers nest key may be for the coffer.
For those of you looking for a set timeline for when to level in the Crawler's Nest... Might I suggest.... some time after lv 35-36.
On the other hand... When asking when to leave this zone... ASAP is my response.. heh.
The crawlers link, a lot... later they Aggro... The Exorays are murder (literally) the flies spam AoE's all over the place... on top of all that this place is such a *fun* place to navigate without the annoying, quest-gained, map.
I would recommend around 45 or so leave here and head to Quicksand Caves. Kick around a few beetles at first, then spiders and some of the hapless Anticans near the zone. With a good pt you can get to 50 in no time there... THEN go back to CN and kick around some Exorays.
It is possible to level here from as early as 33-34 all the way through 50, which is entirely the reason for the zone's popularity.
There is no 'next place' to exp after this, seeing as how this zone supports such a wide array of party levels. I would make it my mission to dispel the 'linear path' conception of exp gain that so many NA players have acquired, but such a battle is unwinnable. Learn multiple zones where your party can exp. That's all I can advise.
Does anyone know the 8 Digit Password for the Strange Apparatus ? If you don't want to post it you can mail it to me wyneon@hotmail.com Thanks all help appriciated!
