My friend, I pity you, for you have become overzealous and blindsighted by San d'Orian zeal. I have resided in Bastok for many years, and I have collected this about the loss of our sacred homeland: It is merely another step in suffering and making us grow stronger.
Why retake the desert? Why not retain the life you have now? What good will infinite amounts of sand do us, besides allow us to mass-produce hourglasses? Friends, we must learn to let go of our tragic past, and leave this physical suffering here for the world to see. Let those who insult us see what we have gone through, our tragedies and our exile. Let them see for theirselves how much suffering we have already gone through. Let it stand as a testament to an old life, a life long gone. Never forget the past, but do not dwell! The future is upon us, and we have better things to be doing than obsessing over past tragedies.
Let the Antica run across "our" soil, and let each man decide for himself how far he should contribute to this war effort. To attack would be to justify the stereotypes of agressiveness and brutality. Strike, but only in return for one they have sent you. Welcome them, but do not let them push you over.
As I have said, we have much better things to be doing than retaking some petty symbol of old tradition. It is merely a great waste of time.
Just something interesting that I noticed was that if you Escape from Quicksand Caves you end up at the Korroloka Tunnel zone. If you zone to the Tunnel and Escape again you end up next to Bastok. Interesting way to end up in Bastok instead of Warping to Jeuno.
Ok... I have a rather large problem. I'm in a JP static and we get together every morning at 7am. We went to Quicksand Caves this morning, but all the mobs were VT to us. What should we fight @ lvl 46-47? We tried Helm Beetles and Sand Spiders. We then pulled an Antica Princeps, and I had to 2hr. I think they may know what to fight, but there is the communication barrier, and I'm not sure if they know I wanna find something else to fight. Thank you all in advance.
not to criticize you, but if u was able to make it as a lv 59 pld how would u not know where to lv or what to fight??? my advice would be to lv in the locations where u lv'ed your pld, not just that but also fight the mobs that you was going after as your pld. (late post yea i know, i'm just mind boggled by the post)

I have found that if you go to the entrance in Eastern Altepa area G-9. Go in Quicksands that way. Then camp on the ramp and pull Ant's. OR....u can go to CN and go to the rumber room. It's in the same direction of secret room. Once u get down into the big room for the secret room, head right, stick to the right, then u'll notice a little hallway on the right hand side...inside is the rumbler room. I leveld from 47-48 here.
For Quicksand Cave Coffer Entrance...you should enter @ East Altepa Desert, around the Mid-buttom L-shape (G/H-9/10) it will lead you to map 2 (J-8) of this site then you just follow the coffer chest to find your coffer chest!! Be sure you have lots of silent oil or you sub a whm having sneak or your friend have a whm to sneak the whole party When you find your coffer...dont open it immediately!!! be sure you watch over is there any antican or cactus around you!! when you open the chest...they will aggro immediately!!even you have sneak on...(Personal Experience) Be sure you have wrap, escape or somewhat to let you escape from the cave...or you will just DIE!!!

I PTed here when I was a level 44 PLD. It was a level 42-45 PT and we chained beetles at first then moved to the spiders near the zone. If you decide on fighting the spiders I suggest keeping your tank above 400HP because their attacks too me down to red several times.
the high-damage spider attacks are rare, they normally do 150-250 damage, however on 2 occasions i have witnessed insane damage attacks, one on our blm who had ~450hp, hit for 550something, but the worst i have ever seen was a 694damage attack on our paladin with maximum HP of 754, about level 46. He had been stunned a few times, so whether he had built up 200+TP and attacked I don't know. Be prepared for a few deaths when fighting these b******s
I obtianed a "tuning fork" from a NPC in Bastok that is supposed to let me enter a crystal in Quicksand caves for some kind of "trial". Does anyone know about this trial? My highest level Character is barely 25.

Side Note: The spring patch intoduced a way to fight the avatars at lvl 20 instead of 65. Although you can gain the avatars much sooner, these are a lot harder battles than the lvl 65s and I would only suggest that veteran players attempt it.
