hey Yumiko here i've hunted him 4 times and each time i've gotten the cape(rotten luck i guess)i first camped him when i was 25 then agin twice when i was 30 and again when i was 38. oh and all times i was THF main. i don't have a system like other pple claim to have i just wait around and kill the giant bats till he pops. good luck to anyone who camps this NM!

FOR SURE! Jus throw a few spells (weak against wind) and a few cures in there. U always have 2 hr too.
i was partying in gustav and waiting for 2 more mebers of the party to come so me and the 3 other guys already with me stayed in the cave a surley enough the bat poped in about 5 minutes and we got no drop....about 4k exp later the party broke up so i decided to camp the bat for a bit in the cave and got the drop in about 20 minutes which is perfect for my war!!:)...okay this is what ive figured out...first the valkrum emp pops right before the golden bat MOST of the time...secondly in the cave(B-8) two giant bats pop one after another(first kill the first bat then the second one will spawn imediatly after)so every 5 or so minutes a set of giant bats will pop...eventually one of those 2 bats will be the golden bat...now back to campin the emperor and lvlin..hope this helps.

I was heading to Gustav to lvl the other day and our whm got called for a raise so we decided to mess around and kill all the things that gave us trouble in the teens. The PLD kept trying to kill whatever he attacked before I could help him. While me and the PLD were messing around the whm caught up and everyone ran into Gustav. We started running and Golden Bat spawned in our faces I engage since no one was around and PLD voked. It was dead in about 30 seconds. The cape dropped and I gave 4 of the guys in my PT 5k each to let me lot (last guy was LS bud) so I got it for 10k less than AH(my lot was 900s anyway ><). It was pretty cool.

This nm is pretty basic. Ive personally only hunted it in the B-8 section jus cause i hate moving back and forth in case i lose it so i focus on 1 spot, besides if imma kill the placeholders in that pos might as well stay there. Worked for me anyways. In that pos the 2 giant bats r the placeholders so jus keep killin them and itll spawn. Usually took me an hr tops for the 7 times i hunted it making me 1/6 on the cape drop. 1st time i hunted it i had rng subbed but realizing that was useless there as well, especially since i was only stayin in B-8, i subbed thf the next 6 times (just TH1) didnt even get the bat when i had rng subbed anyways.

Its very easy to get spawn times of the bats and this guy down once you camp it for about 20 minutes... i know what the exact time is not telling either :D but i will say i have time to go kill 2 or 3 guys wondering around on the beach before i have to be back for the spawn
I was 2/11 on this guy on my other character. I mastered his spawn and everything. I am not going to release information on how to camp this thing pro, but just know, demix rocks golden bat.
So far I'm 2/3 on Golden Bat.
I cleared both caves of Giant and Sand bats. Used widescan to help monitor both sides. He pops fairly quick, took only 45mins the first time and about an hour the other 2 times. Made a nice stack of batwings and fangs from the placeholders. The cape sells for about 40K in Shiva.

Im just leaving a failed party in Gustav and BAM there's goldie so I provoke and use sturmwind bam hes dead...I GOT THE Night Cape!
i was runnin to gustav tunnel to level my whm, and approaching the zone i do a double look on a bat. wth is that... "impossible to gauge"... <sweets> banishga - banish2 - bat wing. /sigh oh well better luck next time.

14/17 on this Damn NM i hope someone else comes and camps this thing i love a challenge it gets boring in that cave by myself oh well come kill this NM or try to if your fast enough.....

ROFL here I am reading this... And bang, goldie pops right infront of me. Like so many of you... A bat wing -_- oh well! Back to camping emperor! Oh, and a RNG just came over a minute later! LOL RNG = teh sl0w

killed it once again last night and once today...now 0-5, not looking good. I guess TH means nothing.

TH1 Usually means nothing, lol. Unless your farming beehive chips and even then it seems broken.
Actually I farm beehive chips with Th1, and i get chips almost every kill :P

lol, i just fought the bat. The fight was goin good up untill i died with the bat having almost no hp left. Of course, to make matters worse, i DLVLed. My friend, a lvl 19 mnk, was standing next to me watching me fight it and deciedes to try and finish the bat off. needless to say, it only took about 4 hits and my friend was on the ground next to me... i HP to Bastoke and Choco back to the dunes. Get there and the bat is still staring and my friends lifelss body. killed him, this time, just see see that i got the very longed for drop, the bat wing. is there no hope for me!!! i am now 0/3 on this ****** and still trying.

Faught it 5 times and all it dropped was a shirt that said , "I've Killed the Golden Bat 5 Times and All I've got To Show For It, Is This Batwing." Very poor drop rate on this nm. You can tell with CoP they've gotten pissy about the drop rate of items. Plus the bat is a lil bit stronger then 27-28, 33rd drk/war and he took me mroe then half dead.

it killed my 32 DRK/THF with leaping boots, emp hairpin, Merc capt scythe, Beetle +1's, Merc Capt Belt, ect... much strong then posted.
I camped the bat while my friend was leveling in Dunes 32DRG at the time. There was another player camping at the same time near the zone into the mines (high level PLD). Anyways, someone decides to zone a Bogy so I'm just standing there against the wall waiting for the Bogy to leave. So what happens... yup Golden Bat pops right next to the Bogy :( The PLD laughs and walks up and kills the bat while I have to just stand there watching. Well I decide to log for the night since it was late. I log on the next day and staring me straight in the face in Golden Bat :) I immediately jump it and kill it fairly quickly but no drop. Oh well, maybe next time. On a side note, my friends party (all around level 18-20 at the time) ended up pulling the bat from the cave and ended up killing it with only one death in the party, but no drop. They were happy to at least fight it.
Also, I'm starting to wonder whether it actually spawns in the cave linking the secret beach to the rest of the dunes and that people are leading it stray from the original spawn point.

Also, it can be really hard to camp when people are zoning from the tunnel. Best to take a buddy with you to watch the other cave.
Also, has anyone noticed this bat seems to be slightly bigger than the other bats?
Seems to spawn a lot faster if you kill the bats in groups also.
