I don't think these are NM.....I checked them in the pass and they con Too Weak to me at 56. Even when an NM is too weak, it still cons impossible to gauge. Not unless an NM spawns in place of regular cave scorpions, but still has the same name?????

i killed him while going for 5-1....didnt even know he was a NM XD figured just a normal scorp who dropped scythe lol
when i went through this pass for the smn quest (which by the way...i never got through and just went to batllia downs) and i saw this thing when i took a wrong direction in the beginning of the tunnel on the other side of the rock, well...as i went through tunnel i realize i forgot my sneak and invisable and got arrgod in less than five seconds,ell, i end up taking ANOTHER wrong turn and end up face to face with this thing in my face and two gobs on my tail and it wipes me out with what little health i had...i hate that stupid pass :P

yes.. easy way to tell if a creature is NM is if it shows IMPOSSIBLE TO GUAGE
i've killed this thing like 10 times while i randomly went thru the pass for various quests, seems like a very common spawn and it drops the frostreaper quite often too....not sure if its really an NM though...its doubtful
I ran into this guy also while I was doin smn quest with a 40 PLd who asked for my assistance (lol, 40 askin 30 for help, we were both doin it, but he didn't know I was when he asked me) So we get to that little opening where the scorpion spawns, but we didn't know, so we sit to rest, and I believe these were my words.... "Finally a safe spot to rest" and the scorp spawns and attacks me, he voked it and said it conned DC to him, IT to me, but no, it is not an NM, I was Cure 2/3-ing him can't member.
And it turned killed me in 2 hits, I told him to run for it, and it killed both of us. We ended up getting a 72 SMN/WHM to get us through, then tele us to Holla to finsh it up ^^

funny if it IT to you way was in easy prey to me as a lvl 41 ninja i took this big boy down fast got the scythe too

it sells for around 2.5k on Asura. =P
after that i came back here to check out what u guys wrote on Cave Scorpion. sure enough its not a NM. nonetheless im happy i got the drop.

this thing will link with any bats that are nearby. fought it last night and 4 groups of Seeker Bats came up from a lower area and decided to wail on me too.
It doesnt link with any bats. I can kill these things with ease on my 58 BLM. I have never once gotten bats to link even when i have trained this thing around. You might have been low enough for the bats to aggro on you. Or you might ahve done an AoE attack/spell which aggroed them.

I was lvl 8 and lvling in pass and some dude wanted to get to jeuno so i decided i would help him. We were almost at exit and this was in our way.I said we would run on 3 and i ran at 2 and started fighting it. I died and guy got through. He sent me a tell and thanked me. Then a high lvl WHM raised me and gave me a Kenpogi+1 and praised me for being a nice person.

not an nm, spawns almost instantly from what I can tell.. from the two places.. killed it three times and it hasn't dropped the frostreaper.. I have a thief sub.. are you sure it drops it?
Also, I just killed a "Giant Scorpian" at H-6 .. it may be that they confused giant and cave scorpians.. but I forgot to check it :/
K.. I got the frostreaper the 6th or 7th kill.. he does drop it.. but still not an NM

yea its not a NM...its just a higher lvl scorp, kinda like Tremor Ram or Battering Ram. it came up too weak, i was lvl 45 whm/blm
