i'm at 26/30 on the claim and 0/26 on the drop on this guy... i'm getting VERY angry right now...

So far its 0/5 for me, after 30% of his HP left, he will use Benediction, level 25 will easily solo this.

anybody know the time between pops , so if u see it go down how long should u wait to come back?
I'm Currently 0/22 on the drop... my buddy hops in a day later, gets it second pop... i hate my luck...

I had been helping a friend of mine get the Giddeus key for the kazham airship pass and I logged there becasue i was too tired to leave the place. Anyways when i got back on the next day i thought "why not pay a visit to my most/least favorite NM Hoo Mjuu?" I went to the spawn area and funnily enough it was empty, which usually means it was killed recently. Kept killing medicants for 45 mins or so and i was still all alone. I was talking with my ls leader at the time and i had just said "this thing better pop soon before all the campers get here..." and he popped right in my face o.O I quickly claimed and killed him and got the signa - w00t!

Like most lower level NMs it only can drop one thing. it can drop the scroll the mitts or the signa. TH will no way help the drop rate. TH pretty much lessens the chance on no drop and increase the chance of somthing else dropping so TH wouldnt help at all.

im thinkin of huntin this soon think i could do it as 20WHM/BLM?
I am 0/6 on this dude. The drop rate sucks. Either that or noones claiming the drop if they got it. I have claimed it 6 times and of those 6 i got mitts 2 times and scrolls 4 times. How ****** is this things drop rate. I mean there has to be a key to figureing this out.
I was farming necklaces a few days back, and came through this area a number of times. I'd hang around and kill the enemies/placeholders, but not really hoping for the NM. In fact, I never saw them.
What I did see, however, was someone using some obvious method of cheating... And they weren't trying to hide it in the slightest. They had CONSTANT flee, and once, they went off to another area for a few minutes... Only to reappear out of nowhere in the same spot they had stood before.
The stupid person also went on to hold placeholders, or link every enemy in the immediate area, and just stand there, asking for help. >.> Honestly, why?

yes, that was a cheater, the person goes onto a website and downloads a patch for the game... that is against the policy which all players agree to when signing up for the game.
what happens is that the person enters the information (kinda like a macros) but just as soon as the NM pops it is instantly claimed for them because they stay in the area and range.
it has to deal with the gaming code.

So I was hunting for Yugudo Necklace's when i thought about this NM. So I went to the spawn area and starting killing yugudos and bees for chips. No one was around at this time and bang he spawned killed him easy with DRK46/WAR23. Got the Zealot Mitts but, no signet. A little while later this guy shows up to camp NM also. I waited for awhile no spawn and then I had to go for supper. 4hrs later I logg back in and the same guy is standing there still camping, I aske if he got drop and when the last time he spawned and ETC. no response. So I used the Auto Translate and aske if he could speak english.... no response.
His the part that is weird and if anyone has an explanation please let me know. I could sence the NM was about to spawn so I waited patiently for it to, figuring this guy was AFK. I watched the NM spawn and just before it turned from translucent to solid(When mob spawns kinda fated then more solid). This guy immedietly not even a quarter of a second dia'd the NM to claim NM, then immedietly his chracter ran towards the NM but, never attacked it. were talking atleast a level 72RDM(highest peice of equipment was AF RDM). So now this guys sitting there with the claim and not doing anything about it. Eventualy a few more yugudos linked and started gradually takeing this guy down.(was obviously AFK). about 25mins later the level atleast 72RDM died(lol).
What I was wondering is how in the heck did this guy Cast dia and claimed the NM in a millisecond but, was AFK to finsih the fight! Is there some kinda macro for this or wtf! If there is that is very unfair to others who camp NM's. Please let me know what this is. It's disturbing me.

I've noticed that casting dia to claim a NM is a new trend since the changes to the spawns. I've also noticed very strange things at NM camps which goes with your story.
I in the area helping a ls member get his Kazham keys, and we started talking about this NM. So we hung around for a bit watching what was happening. This guy was active so it wasn't a bot, but he had this HUGE Dia range claiming everything in the area from one spot. After he claimed Hoo Mjuu (with Dia and many stunners around), I wanted to test that spot out. But when I stood right on top of him, I couldn't even come close to casting dia on anything. Now I'm curious, so I ask how he does that, or course the response is {I don't speak English}. I'm a level 42 RDM and have been camping NM's alot recently for the hell of it (2/2 Valkurm Emporer (2nd was for a friend) 1/2 Leaping Lizzy, 1/1 Golden Bat, 1/1 Panzer Percival, and 1/3 Hoo Mjuu the Torrent) well i've been getting all my claims with dia when i noticed how far away i can cast it on something, i went to level BST for my Monster Signa and i could only get claim with charm if it was nearby (say aprox 20 feet or closer) whereas i can cast dia on something aprox 100 ft away going by that standard. and as far as claiming something with it, takes about a second to half a second with fastcast and you have to come to a complete stop to cast which are the down sides compared to charm, i'll probably test out my range on provoke here soon just to compare the pro's and cons.

A lot of people are mentioning their luck on this mob with/without Treasure Hunter. Keep in mind, this is one of the mobs where TReasure Hunter does not work, because Hoo Mjuu the Torrent always drops one item. It's either the scroll, a pair of zealot's mitts, or the signa.
Personally, I'm 0/25 on him. I've received a few zealot's mitts, but too many scrolls of Deodorize.

Well it seems this thing isnt too heavily camped on remora - whenever i go the place is ususally close to empty - except for 2 other people or so. I have no problem claiming the damn thing (37 mnk/war)- i think every time i go i get him once - but its the drop rate that kills me - only got the signa once - then lotsa mitts and deo scolls... ><

Camp him a week before christmas break and i was lucky getting 2 signa and a mitt in 3 continously claim [been told that it hasnt been drop for 5 pop].
During the 1 weeks camp [on christmas break], i harvest and camp him when window open. The drop rate was soo worse you can imagine. Start camping it and been told it hasnt been drop for 6 pop and it might drop on next pop... win claim 5/7 and 1 mitt 4 scroll /cry and in those 7 claim, there is not a single signa drop
Came back next morning, got 8/12 claim and not a single drop either.. 3 loss claim was not signa too [might be a lie >.<] than i came back 2 days later.. been told that it has not drop any signa for pass 3 drop so i thought of camping and try my luck AGAIN... this time is worse, 6 HRS pop time and i got it, a little happy but HUGE disappointment where it give me only a 500 gil scroll [with TH2 help]..........
Unless, you want to have excitement over camping it [beating the rest] and not hoping for the drop. Its faster farming silk thread where it will be faster rather than losing hope after spending hour and hour camping it only loot you 500~10,000 gil

no one was camping him i thought wowser I will try first time i ver had chance to camp him. he popped 2 lots of kills in....i got claim

hey, on kujata im 6/8 on him, got 2 in one day once. for my last calim number 8 i was camping with this chinese guy, i assumed gilseller, hey i was right! the idiot Invisibles, he was a WHM/BLM i saw him cast shockspikes, i have my curser on him and then like 2 minutes later hoo spawns and hes running at like 100miles an hour, had that flee hack. Well i was gunna stand for that. i called my hoo mjuu camping buddy alys down, camped for 2 hours and hoo spawn. me and alys voked at the same time and got calim, no drop, but felt damn good to beat that ***-ole, we both had TH2 btw, me 45 thf him 65 thf

isnt the reson that the drop rate sucks soo much on this may b the fact that people are killing it too fast isnt it a nm that has to use a ja to enter signa into the pool of items it may drop?

I was farming for beehive chips and I make a complete circle of the whole map and always coming by Hoo Mjuu spawn point.
Everytime I pass by there, Astriea is there (always)... not moving an inch and not replying back.
I also even watched him attack Hoo Mjuu. I was helping another guy out trying to grab him first, but Astriea took the aggro when it didn't even spawned.
Talk about being an obvious bot.

I love reading these "theories" and "tactics" from the message boards...you all make me giggle. If you only knew what those gilsellers knew, you'd be making the claims too...I never miss.

Once the month is up, rinse repeat. I never learn to quit, it seems.
Anyone on seraph that want's to team up with me for the camp, send me a Tell. if you have flee and a fast claim, let me know, and I'll take care of the rest. Maybe someone's luck will rub off on me.

im on leviathan and there are allways like 7 ppl at a time camping this and a 30 rdm is my highest job so if any one can help me camp this or sell one to me for cheap that would be great

Took 5 claims in a row today which increased my record to:
87/102 claims
13 drops
mittens going for 40k on Fenrir now so a decent chunk of money made there :D
The best advice I can give to new campers is to pay attention to mendicant pop patterns and watch out for the fakes!
