Killed this thing while finishing up my farming in Pashow as my 36 RDM. It spawned on top of a Malboro at J-8, which confused me because i read about this thing before and it supposedly spawns at I-7 or 8. I first took the Malboro and it almost killed me. Broke my stoneskin in no time and Bad breathed me at the beginning. I started with low MP to begin with so I started getting worried. I ended up killing it with 58 HP left and i rested, my eye on the Jolly Green. After a pesky Quadav aggro, I buffed up and attacked it. Nothing special... it was actually easier to kill than the Malboro. ^.~ Anyway, it dropped the belt and a dahila so woohoo! Thats 20k closer to my lvl 40 RDM gear fund... only 400k to go ><.
It was not raining, I found it at J-8, and it was daytime (meaning it wasnt 19:00) so I don't think its spawn is as set in stone as some think. Don't just look in the specified spots for NMs, you gotta check everywhere. Hope that helps.

It's as simple as a lottery spawn from the other Goobbues in the area.

Not like it matters, weak NM with a weak drop.

I've been farming in Pashow for the last 2 nights, and had the fortune of fighting this guy 4 times. Several Dahlias, some Cuttings, some Moss, but 0/4 on the Belt. Glad I checked this link, didnt know about the timing and weather being a factor. I go there as a 37mnk/whm and have no problems with any goobbues or land octopussies. When my 2hr becomes available, I kill the elementals, that frequent the area (water and lightning). Between goobbue pops I kill crawlers for silk thread and gob leechers and gamblers for crystals and armor.
Beastman Blood is available from the Leechers at the lake for that cool Drain spell quest.
There are 2 small areas where Jolly Green and his cousins like to pop: Upper part of I-7, and central I-8 (close to the wooden platform), they never pop by the lake.

The logic of you upcoming THF is really disappointing, but benficial to people like me. On my server, the belt goes for 30k. Cuttings are 8-10k per single. And much like most other things, servers tend to share similar pricing. I guess you'd much rather take the lesser of the 2 though. Whether or not you knew its price is irrelevent. Just by looking at the belts stats, you should initially assume this is worth more than a simple cutting.

I kill this guy pretty regularly, simply because he spawns all the time where I farm. I'm 0/10 with him right now, although I did get a couple tree clippings from him once, I usually only get dahlias.
Oh, and I've been taking him easy ever senese I was a MNK40/WAR20, which is when I started farming in Pashhow.

Ran up to it and tried to flash it.."The Jolly Green is too far away" So I immediatley run up, engage, bring it back to all the the people participating in ballista and they all cheered me on ^^, Two dahlias dropped, better than nothing, was fun :)

I got him twice this morning in like a span of like an hour. My friend told me he can spawn anywhere in the Marshlands (I think thats a lie) but I've gotten him 4 times and two drops. I think his spawn time is from one hour to like 3 hours. I don't farm him but I pass by his area alot and so the 20k is a good plus when I get him. Plus his never camped so his pretty easy to get and kill.

I spend a lot of time farming in Pashow, so I see this guy pop fairly often. I'll try to head to the spawn area whenever it's nearing 19:00 game time, and usually he'll pop right on schedule. So far, I've seen him about a dozen times, killed him five, and gotten the drop four of those times. Since the Shaman's Belt is up to about 35k on Kujata now, that's not a bad chunk of change to be pulling down every other hour or so. He's the only NM I've ever killed and gotten the drop from, and he's very easy to camp and kill (a 41 Monk can take him down just as quickly as any other Goobbue in the area). And since his drop isn't worth hundreds of thousands of gil, he's never actually camped, just kind of killed in passing.

Good luck to whoever decides to try taking out this hulking NM. ^_^

Was out farming leeches/crawlers/bats/goobbues & Maboro's with my lvl 30RDM as I-7/8 (Had THF subbed for treasure hunter). I was there for a couple of hours, and was healing up when I saw this WAR24 run past. I continued healing, and about 30 seconds later this emote popped up on my screen (Can't remember what the guys name was)...

"/em wants to see Daniel kill Jolly Green"

Needless to say, I jumped up and ran towards him, and sure enough, saw ol' jolly straight ahead. After a brief consultation with my LS (asking what lvl he was, and if I would get owned (Which they said... I prob would)), I cast Protect2, Blink, Enthunder, Blaze spikes & shell, then heal for bit, but was worried that someone may steal it if I left it too long, so jumped up with about 80%MP.

Went in for the attack, cast the usual debuffs, (half of which he resisted). Blink was gone immediately, enthunder was very handy making up for my lack of physical rdm strength. Anyway, didnt have to 2hr (Like it would have helped anyway), had to regen and cast a few cures 3's though, come out with about 10%mp and just over 100hp. Got the belt & a bit of moss. Also gave the the guy who pointed him out to me 3k as a thanks.

So he's really not that tough. I would say He's a little weaker than a malboro. So if a malboro owns you, don't even try. The WAR24 was sensible.

So I'm farming in the marshlands, and I get aggroed by some stupid little goblin while trying to rest. After I take care of it I see that a goobbie has spawned near me, so I run over and poke it. It pokes back. I'm looking at my log thinking "damn, that did more damage that they usually do...." I glance at it's name and see "jolly green" I get really excited, thinking the thing might drop something worth a bit. And then I realize that I'm still at 1/4 heath. (Thats what i get for going afk while healling, only to come back and see that a gobbie has been poking me for 5 for the last ten minuets ><) I two hour, and it gets down to whoever hits next wins. It attacks, I parry, it misses me, and then I miss! Of all the times to miss! It hits me, and I die. I hp as fast as I can, grab a tele and a choco and run back to where he was, and there his body is and someone is walking away. /sigh I must have my revenge!

I've gotten this guy 14 times lol, its not that I camp him, I just farm there almost every day (need my kote, gi, and belt ; ;). So far I'm 5/14 on this him.... gave the belt away twice (LS members), split it twice (once again LS members), and sold it by myself once. Very good feeling to have a NM pop right beside you while you are farming, makes it just a bit more fun.
another flower.....

Found him the second time just by passing by, again at(I-8)towards the bottom. 35 war wasnt bad, but 40 rng was so nice.Shadowbind.. then 3-4 arrows later, he felt compelled to give me yet another flower.I think, he thinks I need them more than the belt. Anyway if your not running by,theres only one or two placeholders in the area(goobue)kill them for jolly to pop. Also not heavily camped, belt goes for about 12k-13k on leviathan.I wouldn't solo him less than lvl 32,depending on your job of course. Good luck

To date the only lottery NM who's ever given me its good drop. :) Killed him as a low 40's BLM (I believe, it's been a while!). I'm wearing it now and will until I get my Arachne Obi, or maybe, now, that delicious new Penitent's Rope....

I always seem to pass by this NM everytime I go through the Marshlands which is always good i get the drop like 75% of the time.the belt sells for about 20-25k and is fairly ez to sell,
not sure on the spawn time cause ive never sat around to find out i just run by on the way to the highlands see him and kill but im thinking it's about 1hr or so, good luck to all that sit around and hunt this NM.

Well not couting quest or mission ones. I was farming with my 40war/19thf when I saw a goobbue.
So I ran at him and attacked I had 534 hp. Well I relize its jolly ,and I didn't know what lvl he was or anything so I hit my 2 hour and when at it. I had 511 hp after I killed it and I got the belt. I couldn't stop laughing afterward.

Was farming in pashhow today where he spawns and i found him quite by accident, I forgot to sub rng for widescan. Took him out np as a 38 drg. brought me dwon to about 200 hp when he hit me with an uppercut while i had berserk going. Ouch. No belt just a bag of cuttings a water crystal and two dahlias.
