Just killed 3 of these buggers and got the marble, after surviving a link at level 42 WHM I got it, just thought I'd say that.

I just started the quest attacked 1st Ivory lizard i came across,linked a 2nd,got the drop on 1st kill,not as difficult as alot of people made it see,maybe i got lucky!

whm 50 can easily solo these lizzies. with blm sub it becomes way easier since sleep helps for recasting stoneskin, blink and enfeebles.

edit: just got it from the fifth lizzy i was camping down the hole near kazham zone ( waning gibbous around %80 ) . pure luck? yes, please. ^^b

notes:
can take on 2 at a time w/o problem average hit is for 32 with def 144. hit % is around 1/6 - 1/8 (eva 156). most seem to travel in pairs.

special attacks: fireball (fire damage aoe), blockhead (200% damage single target), plague breath (poison cone minimal damage), tail blow(150% damage and stun single target), baleful gaze (petrification single target), infrasonics (evasion down, I think aoe), brain crush (single target, hasn't hit, silences I think)

block head, baleful gaze, and tail blow were used against me most often. fireball I saw 3 times, infrasonics twice, brain crush 4 or 5 times and plague breath maybe 4 or 5 times

special ability: secretion (evasion up) - I saw it used 3 or 4 times.

0/35 for marble

other drops:

17 lizard eggs
9 lizard skins
13 lizard tails

other notes:
all in all a 50 thief owns these even when facing 2. Utsusemi was nice only for lessening the need to rest but far from a requirement. be careful when wandering around as some goblin smithy's will still rate easy.

3 were engaged and killed while double rain element was in effect.

all were killed between wind and lightning day. moon condition: waning crecent about 36% and waxing gibbous around 76%

Think I could take them down as a 42 white mage with ATK+ food and rings?

im hunting them right now XD its full moon and no rain yet... im a lvl 50 whm, i can kill them easily though im little worried about links... ill update if i get one lol killed two so far @_@

GRRRR im getting mad XD die lizzies die!

mwhahahaha got it... maybe it was around... 30 kills o.O... well the day was full moon

been farming this mob with several members of the linkshell on Asura for the rare drop - one day i took a 43 whm and we took 4 hours before a drop and we had to teleport out of the jungle twice because of uninvited guests (smithies will still aggro a lvl 45-46 even lvl 47 in rare occuraces)

last night i took a 46 whm for this camping - and pulled a lizzy with him having 50 mp left - then got a uninvited visitor and ended up with a dead whm (who deleveled to 45) and me barely alive (only because of benediction) - and i was forced to switch to sword to kill the second lizard. after that i went back to town to grab meat mithkabobs off my mule and went back out there. this time i was more careful about pulling in regards to whm mp. well soon thereafter while killing another lizzy two more uninvited guests showed up - this time the whm teleported us out of there. we got more buddies to help us out and we were able to deal with linkages a lot better than earlier. we spent 4 hours got zero drop before giving up for the night.

whm that plan on doing this farming - have a teleport spell macroed because you might need it - and get someone to take the damage because lizzies will still hit hard.

These lizards are EVIL! They keep that marble hidden way too good ><

duh...if there's anyone who reads this site that thinks it is or expects it to be perfect then they are just downright stupid.

Ivory Lizards are normal monsters that can be found throughout the Elshimo region.
