Moo Ouzi the Swiftblade Picture

A dreadful katana-wielding Yagudo. They say his unfortunate victims see nothing but a flash of light when his blade fells them in one swoop.

Moo you bastard

So anyways camped him for about 4 hours until he finally popped right there at (I-9) on first map... I tried different things but it seems that killing the four placeholders nearest to that corner gets the job done.... several times i killed every yagudo in the area by forming a train and killing about 40 at 1 time.

real easy but he only dropped barbarian sword :( 0/1 on demonic

The 4 spawns there share yagudos and bats, and you should just stay near the large torch killing the mobs from both directions till he pops... im sure any level 35+ can beat it easily.

Hmmm he's pretty easy to pop, as no one seems to bothered about camping him!
Think he's got a 60-120 min timer...
I 8/8 on the stoopid Barbarian sword + 0/8 on the Demon blade, but I will succeed
meh..

Lol 1/1 on him,... first time i ever killed him at that

An illustration of Moo's drop rate:
# Apr 04 2006 at 5:09 AM Rating: Default
Triple-post, whatever. Nobody reads this, anyway.

Just wanted to give an update on my history w/ Moo to illustrate to anyone interested what his drop rate is like.

I'm now 2/22 on him. And every single kill was w/ TH1 or TH2. I don't have the exact number of which was which, though.

This guy's an asshat.
Double-post, but I sh!t no give...
# Mar 23 2006 at 3:20 AM Rating: Default
0/5 now, and this sword isn't even NEARLY good enough to warrant a drop rate so low.

F**k you, Square, for the lack of simple balance in this game.

Seriously.
Moo Ouzi eats a$s.

I'm 0/4 on this d!ck.

I hate him. 55WAR/27THF. He's wasted far too much of my life already, but I'm determined.

In Ifrit is 120,000 and the place holder is the Theologist, positive about that.

It's place holder is the Yagudo Persecutor that spawns in the corner where he spawns. I find it very appropriate, this NM is a samurai, so are Persecutors and they spawn in the exact same spots he does. Sometimes they wander down the hallway though.

There are no Persecutors that spawn even remotely close to this guy. Now that I think about it... are there ANY persecutors that spawn on the first floor?
placeholders?
# Aug 30 2005 at 5:52 PM Rating: Decent
i know yagudo are the placeholder but which type or is it just all of them?
hum..

Can i have an aproximation of the drop rate for the demonic sword please?
Level?
# Jan 26 2005 at 2:24 AM Rating: Decent
He's at least 30. I got 12 xp from killing him at L41. He's probably a few levels higher.
RE: Level?
# Aug 19 2005 at 11:22 AM Rating: Default
He's obviously going to be 31+, not 30. Demonic sword is level 31, after all, and I can't think of any normal NM that drops items of higher level than itself.
Samuria??
# Jan 22 2005 at 3:02 PM Rating: Default
Why is this NM's job a SAM when he drops a sword that can't be used by a SAM?
RE: Samuria??

Why does Leapy Lizzy Drop boots that are realy good for nin, thf, and rng if it doesnt realy have a job?
Also Leapy Lizzy is a lizard, the boots whouldnt fit right...

why do i have an orange belt on in my character animation when my belt equipment slot has a purple belt in it?

this game is full of strange stuff like that...
RE: Samuria??
# Aug 23 2007 at 2:32 PM Rating: Default
Yeah, but this guy does not follow with deggi/domi. You'd figure some samurai helmet or something would drop right? Deggi dropping some awesome mnk gloves and domi dropping great ninja boots.
no

It isnt higher than 30 NM's are stronger than regular mobs...in that response you can get Xp the higher you are it wouldnt be much tho say 18 or so...so you wanna be a lil higher the NM other wise ur screwed

Ok i just killed this guy today... beat 4 chinese DRG gil selling mobsters to it... I bet they were camping the other 2 yags and passed by this guy every time the placeholders (or the NM) would pop. I beat them to it... no drop though... my 3rd barbarian's sword lol.
Anyway, here is my question: this guy is supposedly lvl 30 but I am lvl 40 and got exp by killing it??? I think is is higher...
Any comments? ^^

At level 40, level 30 mobs are still worth xp, even if it is a whole 7xp. At 41 I believe he would be Too Weak and not give you any.
no problem

I recently decided to spend some time camping this guy. I wanted a decent Great Sword to level my skill with and the Demonic Sword looked pretty good. Here are some notes from my time with it:

~I fought it twice. The first time I just got the Barbarian's Sword. The second time it dropped the Demonic Sword. Both times I was 44PLD/20THF.

~Both spawns were in the bottom hallway that runs west-east, but I have seen it spawn in the room. I think it is safe to assume that its spawn area is the room and the entire length of the bottom hallway.

~I had little difficulty defeating it as 44PLD, but I would not take it lightly. It hits pretty hard and has a ton of hit points. Also, it can and will use the Samurai 2-hour when its health gets around half. This will allow it to fire off 3 of the Yagudo special moves in quick succession. These moves consist of Howl, Double Kick, Feather Storm, Parry, and Sweep. However I found these moves to be rather weak, so I wouldn't worry to much about its 2 hour.

~There was never anybody else camping it while I was there. Most people probably overlook this guy due to Mee Deggi the Punisher being right around the corner.

~The Demonic Sword goes for about 30k on Ifrit. I'm using mine to level my Great Sword skill.

Happy hunting.

I was a Level 40 Drk when I heard about this thing and decided to give it a shot since I also heard it wasn't camped too frequently. When I first got to the area, the thing was already there. Unfortunately, someone was fighting it as well. Killed it pretty easily. I was ready to leave, but the guy left before I did so I decided to stay and try my luck. I did have to level my dark magic skill a bit since I was a few levels into the absorb stat spells. I fought yags for bout hour and a half when finally the bird shows his face. Since no one was around, I got it's attention with an Absorb-Vit. Then hit it with Bio. The battle was pretty neck and neck. If it had continued like that, I think it would've depended on luck. (Who misses more, criticals, etc.) Unfortunately, it didn't. Once my health hit two thirds, I see that someone is cheering for me. I check the character out and find that it's a level 54 sum. Now in NM hunting, "cheer" basically stands for "Damn, you beat me to it, but you can still die and weaken it for me, so do that!" But anyway, health was a little below halfway and I was about 45 seconds from getting to use Blood Weapon when 2 yags I killed respawned and attacked me before I could. The sum watched me die then killed the yag herself. She did raise me after she killed it, but the fact that I waited 1.5 hrs and she waited 0.0 just sucks. Games aren't always fair.

Bah, people like that disgust me.

If I would've found you almost dead from this thing I would think damn this guy beat me to it and I would've cured you. Better luck next time though.

Anyways, I was running around with my LFG flag up for a Yagudo Holy Water for my AF2, I was just casually running around when I saw this guy standing there, I thought what the heck. One Holy, one Banish II and a few hits from my light staff later and it was dead. Ok, i'm level 52 but i'm just a fragile WHM ;)

I got the Barbarians sword, gave it to a friend who needs gil for her wedding :)

NM's aren't easy
# May 11 2004 at 3:16 PM Rating: Excellent
I laugh when someone 1-2 lvls higher of a NM gets killed by them, and complain about how they say it's not around the lvl it said they were. Sure you might be able to kill decents but a NM has MORE Hp and MORE attack power and probably more defence. It's like a Mob with really good equipment and abilities. So watch out and just because your a few lvls higher doesn't mean much.

yeah NMs have a bit more power then normal I try and stay 6-10 lvls above the NM NMs I hunt

He destroyed my Thief36 the firs time (I died)
and the 2nd time I tried I brought him down to 50% with my 2 hours before I had to flee out of the zone with 6HP.. ><
Thief's dmg sucks while soloing. I'm gonna go kick his *** when my Drk reaches 36. He crited me for 100ish dmg and was hitting me for 30-40 dmg a pop. Even though he was still missing a lot, he took away my hp really fast. He has a LOT of HP wich is why I couldn't kill him. I could've done it if I had a whm with me though.

That's exactly the reason why I subbed my thf with nin... they miss you a lot, you cast Utsusemi, they miss you some more, take a shadow here and there, you recast, they miss you some, take some more shadows, you keep doing mediocre damage and take forever to kill it but you don't die ^^.
Yesterday I took a DC yag at the castle... I'm lvl 40 and he did take my hp 2/3 down. Oh well guess what? Whithout Utsusemi I would have had to flee my sorry mithra butt out of there and would probably have died because I get desperate, can't navigate and get lost >.<...
So yea sub your thf with nin and you can still take a DC at lvl 40, it is a pain but possible!
And besides, having the Tonko ninjutsu spell is also really nice for treasure chest hunting, if you have your trusty thf tools :P thf rocks!
RE: I'll have my revenge!
# Nov 19 2005 at 7:48 PM Rating: Default
why aren't either of you thf's carrying 5-10 stacks of bloody and sleep bolts? as a thf i can solo dc and tough back to back with no down time. my record for war is 175 exp from one kill, just need sleep bolts, bloody bolts, utsusemi, and alot of equip change macros. if your good, you can get exp easier solo then in pt, because you don't have to worry about everyone "doing their own thing"
