It probably isn't a normally "stocked" item but one that she buys from players. If players sell items to guild NPC's, they will then be available for sale. I've seen the same type of thing at the fishing Guild. One time there was Moat Carp for sale, but I've only seen it one time. Apparently someone decided to sell them to guild instead of putting on the AH for whatever reason.

I'm assuming the number in she has available is the same as the number sold to her.

NPC that sell items that can run out, only stock six of that item a day. Some people in game make a living off waiting for the time that item restocks, and buying it for cheap, and selling it on the AH for a very big profit.

I don't know if items sold to the shops become available. I'll have to check that out myself one time.

I was fishing and had no room left on tha AH. Not bothering to worry about losses (9 gil for lugworms and 11 or 22 gil for the fish I was catching that RL day plus 11 for the kelp at the beginning) I sold all the fish I caught right to the fishing guild. The VD one day the kelp I caught went from 11 gil to 9 gil (I sold stacks of it right to em). The next RL day (today) I only sold bastore sardines and quus--starting at 11 and 25. When the next VD week came round, the prices were 10 and 22. I sold less sardines and more quus (they were less at the AH anyway) so the quus dropped more than the sardines. I sold about three or four stacks of quus and about two stacks of sardines to them.

Edit: Clarified which periods of time were VD days/weeks or RL days/weeks.

I've noticed 2 different things seem to affect vendors:

1. Rotating stock lists. Some days have one list, other days have other lists.
2. Conquest. All vendors seem to be affected by this... My poor beloved Bastok has the crappiest stores in the whole world due to our last place in Conquest..... including the guild having some items that seem only to be available when we are in 1st place (those oh-so-extremely-rare times).

Anyone know for sure if this is what causes different lists etc?

Conquest is the major effect on NPC shops.

Example.
I can't buy cornettes in Bastok if Bastock is last in Conquest.

Yes, most everything here worth buying is cheaper elsewhere (regional vendors, but AH if all else fails), but I've bought a few test items and things that don't stack (San d'Orian flour for example) here.

Also, Meat Mithkabobs are something like 500-600 each. That's quite a bit when a stack costs like 1800 to make.

This is definately false information, because I remeber buying them from the fishing guild to do the quest recently. However, sometimes its not in the listing so I'm not exactly sure myself o_O. Either way I think it was cheaper on the AH anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Well I happened to be in the area; watersday, bastore sardines were available at the fishing guild for 45gil (level 6 fame). Really not sure why its occasionally not available, though. Something I want to investigate further >_>.

Someone probably got tired of stairing at their stacks of Bastore Sardines and sold them directly to the guild. Thus the guild had them in stock.
