on my way to go learn Mp Drainkiss i stopped by north spot 4 beetles, stayed on the choco ripped over to south spot 4 beetles!!! dismounted buffd up (shadows/metalicbody/cocoon/) see how hard panzer possibly be? the thing barley scraped me so i moved onto the next one trying to make him pop cus i didnt have WS to see the first on the list, didnt even buff up and attacked the beetle full health cus of autoregen and 75% mp... it wasn't until * Gundal starts casting Bludgeon on Panzer Percival* that I released he poped lol no buffs and i just rocked him with enough time to /wave to a 47 bst who strolled in a little late to watch me decimate him
i do have pretty decent gear tho... +27 evasion
but like i said TOTAL CAKE
o btw 24 exp and 1 beetle jaw later 0/1 :( o well im off to learn MP Drainkiss

i fought it in an hour or less of camping time and the axe dropped great for me since i was using a lvl 8 G-axe for lvl 25 war lol i would not have been able to solo it because my axe couldnt attack fast enough it has lotsa hp and a good defence (hit 25 a swing) and i dont reccomend it to b soloed unless ur a higher lvl job also there are boggarts in the southern camp so just watchout for them i had me and a rdm in S camp and war and drg in N camp it poped in S hope this helps

i went by the Ph thing listed. poped in 1.5 hours. easy to kill as my lv 54 drk. no drop though=(
How often does it respawn? I've camped this thing for 2 hours now and still hasn't popped.
So I killed this guy for a friend of mine. He's new on the game, an I thought I'd help him out with this axe.
Popped him in about 20 minutes of being there, just killing the beetles in both the north an the south zone.
I started killing them in the southern zone, once I killed them, I ran to the north, killed them... rinse repeat.
2nd time to the north, he was sitting there, chillen like a villian. DRK75/THF37... hit, hit, guillotine... it was dead. No drop unfourtunatley.
Popped him in about 20 minutes of being there, just killing the beetles in both the north an the south zone.

So I needed to lvl WAR recently as I was coming up to the point where if I level'd drk anymore with war sub'd, it'd gimp it. So I thought "why don't I get a good g. axe to use" and figured hell, I'll try grabbing Neckchopper. Being Elvaan I need the accuracy boost, and i didn't feel like shelling out the 150k it goes for on Bismarck (I didn't have 150k to begin with).
Past few nights I tried and there would always be at least five peeps in the area set on private, and at least two of them camping the NM.
I go on tonight and find only three people in the zone set to private, and only one other high enough level to take it, besides myself. Both pop sites seemed to be clear of campers.
Quick count told me the eastern pop site had the placeholder, so I go over, kill it, and wait.
There he pops and there I spam every macro at my disposal to claim him. Kill him and get Neckchopper on first try.
Prolly going to try again and nab one for a linkmate. He's nearin 20 WAR.

Well I am a BST and was lvling to 25/camping Panzer. Last night I seen him in about 20 minutes. No Drop :(. So tonight I get on about 8:30, start camping and lvling. I get to lvl 25 and am like yay. then I realized it its 12:30 and am like wow no spawn.
I decide to go look after one more place holder kill and what do you know, Panzer is there at the northern spot. Kill him... No Drop!!! Well damn. 4 hours and nothing!! well it was fun and a good experiance. Gotta try again tomarrow!

u gotta go to both camps to spawn easy if not ur there for 2-3 hours its drop is about 50/50 so i guess u could camp this nm the great axe is uber good so WAR 20 should get it less ur nub or ur WAR/NIN then dont need it cuz dual axes pawn

i seen him when i was a 30 blm and i tried to take him on..... got my *** wooped =P nvr seen him since >< might camp him as soon as my suspension from the game is over.... a hate Littlemonkey so much lol
I beat him solo as a Lvl 21 BST, then again as a Lvl 23 BST. I sold the Neckchopper for 150,000 on Titan.

Theres no point in typing out full words, you do realize the english language along with every other language is created by man in order to find a way to communicate right? Well you also do realize man has communicated without the use of words for hundreds of thousands of years (maybe millions i like to think we have always been), if you cant use simple context clues how in the hell did you play all those FF series? I mean damn if you have to crack someone because they like to use modern day slang and or abbr. then so be it i can guarantee you use slang that does not exist in our language but you still use it without realizing it you two are the kind of people i would love to beat the **** out of among all the others who disresepct those who find other ways of typing due to the extensive abuse it does to the wrist/hands/fingers, but wait your probably so incompetent that you forgot some people are older then others (even young for the matter) that have arthritis or have carpotunnel syndrome, unfortunately i am one of those people thus sometimes we cant type out all the words when our wrist/hands/fingers go numb its near impossible to type, so please if you ever meat me in real life say to me "Im that ******* thats put that post on alla" and honestly if you cant use "context clues" (yes its that word again cant you see where im getting at yet? you should really consider going back to at least 2nd grade or at least 3rd and the comment on the "***" for allas sake i would rather not spell out the "profane" words for younger people yes its obvious what the word is suppose to be but nontheless it is not the word itself ;) Anyways Be safe go to school and listen to your teachers for once.
Most of this is old news, condensed into one post. There are some things I've not seen however, and which knowing would be very beneficial to all.
As shown on the map, there are two spawn points for Panzer Percival.
North Camp @ J-5
South Camp @ L-7, East of Spore Hollow. (inaccessible from the North)
There are always 4 Beetle spawns at the north camp, and 3 Beetle spawns at the south end. If you are using widescan, you will see these Beetles grouped together at or near the end of the list.
However, there is an 8th Beetle which can appear at either camp. This is the placeholder for Panzer Percival, and will always be the first Beetle listed of that group.
The Beetles respawn @ 5 minutes after death. Using this information, you can kill just the placeholder, note time of death, and wait to see if the placeholder reappears in the same area 5 minutes later. If not, then you'll know it must be at the opposite camp. This will make it much easier on lower level characters, and those camping this solo.
I'm not 100% sure on spawn times for Percival himself. Expect anywhere from 1-4 hrs in between pops, and perhaps even longer.
When Panzer Percival does show up, his name will appear at the BOTTOM of the group of Beetles rather than the top, as the placeholder does.
***Now, having seen it with my own eyes, I can tell you that Percival CAN spawn twice in a row! It did this to me, spawned 13 minutes after previous one, at the opposite camp, with no placeholders in between. If you've just killed Percival and see no sign of the placeholder at either camp, don't give up!

only took like 2 hours, just run back and forth between the spawns and you should get him around every hour. Not to many people camping um, only saw 2 people the hole time, looked like they were just killing time before ballista too. Just keep at it and you'll get it ^^ GL

Think i can take this guy on solo as a 43THF/21NIN using shadows and decent gear?
took him today as a 40thf/7 rng with no problem, didn't even need to use any bloody bolts, hit me about 3-4 times. He has a lot of HP's but nothing a few sleep bolts and SA's won't sort out.
of course.. just watch out for linkage

I've been wanting to get my hands on the Neckchopper, so I went out with some folks from my LS to hunt Percival. There were 3 of us, so we split up. 2 in the northern spot and 1 in the eastern spot. After several hours of pounding away at Stag Beetles and Boggarts we had to disband. No Percy. Does anyone have anymore info about spawn times? Pure lottery pop? Or particular times?

You have to run between the 2 camps killing all the beetles in the area then run back to the other camp and kill all the beetles there. Me and 3 friends were camping him last night, no pop for 3+ hrs, then I did this and he poped twice in 30 min. I was a 55RDM/24NIN when I fought him, he was no prob, but has a good amount of HP and DEF.

You CAN be in a party. I camped this guy in a party with my girlfriend. We camped it and killed it 6 times. 1/6 on the drop with Treasure Hunter 1. The spawn time was about 1.5 hours and then lottery. He can spawn at any spawn point in the two areas.
Someone mentioned something about a certain number of beetles being killed in a certain order. I believe thats the case cause he pops when you kill the last beetle at either camp he pops right in front of you

i was farming beetle jaws in jugner out of boredom and need for gil lol, and bam i go to the J-5 pop spot and hes there, no drop though =/ then i head over to the L-7 pop spot and there he is again lol, anyway i killed him again and got the drop w00t so all in all hes fun and easy

Man this thing made me so mad. Camped him for 6 hours and no spawns. Wasted my day gettin 3 stacks of insect wings, 8 shells and 1 stack of jaws. If u decied to try this guy bring a partner. Its better to split the cash instead of loosin him to the closest rng or thf just walkin through the area. >.<

Ok, so i hunted panzer a couple of months ago for the first time. after runnin back and forth b/t the 2 area for about 90 min, he spawned. i got the neckcutter. so about a week later i decide to go after him again. i got him 3 more times with no drop. no big deal. so a couple of weeks ago i decided to try my luck again. after 4 hours no spawn, got bored. next day the same thing happened. total of 3 times now that i haven't seen him pop. i just wanna know if i'm having extrememly bad luck, bad timing(other pc's run by and see him while i'm at the other spawn point), or i missed his name on a past update.
i have also noticed this with Bu'Ghi Howlblade in Palborough Mines.

J-5 holds up to 5 beetles, while L-7 holds 4, however; 1 is a swapping mob that changes spots at random, keep this in mind when camping this NM. Therefore, if you find 3 beetles in the L-7 spot, there will be 5 in the J-5, and 4 in J-5 if there are 4 at L-7. I campd this for 2 hours and never saw it once, keeping a tight leash on both spawn points...I'm just very unlucky. Had VE pop next to me today but lost it to one of those handy-dandy voker-bots that constantly plague the game. Those people should be weary of others hacking there systems and sending them little gifts in the for of virulent files...
