I was farming in Jugner Forest, and I decided to see if Panzer was around. I killed a couple of placeholders, and 10 minutes later he spawned.
I healed to full MP and put him to Sleep, debuffed him as much as I could, and healed a bit more. He woke up and the fight started.
I was outmatched from the very beginning. As a RDM30/THF15, he was hitting me for much more than I was hitting him, even with Enfire. Like most NM's, he has a ton of HP, and it was a very, very long fight.
A DRK came up to me at one point and told me to disengage it. I didn't, and fought to the bitter end.
With my HP in the deep yellow, and 1 MP left, I killed him. Dropped a beetle jaw, an insect wing, and 36 EXP, but no Neckchopper.
My most exciting NM fight so far.

You can get to the Backside of the Lake by going through King Ranp's Tomb in East Raunfaure.. its kind of a dead end good basicly for fishing and waiting for King Arthro.

Decided to spend some time between watching a movie and camping Panzer last night for the first time. I would kill all the placeholders, leave for 5 minutes, pause movie, come back kill placeholders etc. Until FINALLY! it popped, i was surprised when no one was a around. I am a level 45 BLack Mage at about Half-Mp and let me tell you, this guy is tough for a level 25-30! I was in yellow health when i killed him, but i also had no buffs and such. Oh, and i got the drop! 1/1 /cheer
Got this last night got a jaw and the Neckchopper WooHoo I love this little punk lol No need to find out how to get around the lake anyone know ???
I was running by, had ranger sub, I saw him on widescan. I finished off my tiger and WALKED there (about 3 minute walk), nobody else in sight. I killed it, got a bettle jaw. Meh.

i been camping this stupid NM fors days, if it has the highest drop rate why am i 0/5 ;_;
Well, I camped this guys in the southern spawn site for around 3 hours. I killed everything there...beetles and boggarts. No pop. I guess I'll try again another day.

I killed him with a level 30 WAR/THF with top of the line equipment and a mithkabob. I started out with Sneak Attack Sturmwind and finished him with Might Strikes Sturmwind. I had about 250 HP left by the end.

I camped this NM since I'd heard the drop rate was pretty high. I used a 30MNK/15THF and commenced to killing the stag beetle place holders at the southern spawn site. The stag beetles were easy prey to me but I still lost 1/3 of my HP when fighting them, so killing the place holders was a little time consuming. When he spawned after about 45 mins, I engaged with sneak attack and found that he was hitting me for slightly less than I was hitting him. I used my 2hr hundred fists and commenced to beating on him hardcore. fortunately, there were quite a few crits I landed, and that helped drag his HP down, but when 2hr wore off, he still had about 1/5 HP. I was worried now. It came down to the wire. When he died, I had about 100HP left, which amounted to about 4 hits from him. Unfortunately, only got a beetle jaw for my trouble. Moral: It'd be more effective and less dangerous to come back when I hit lvl 40. For a lvl 25-26 he put up a pretty sporty fight.

This NM beetle prolly has almost the highest drop rates of all NM's. Me, blm51, & a brd51 friend was camping it for like, hmm, about 40 mins.
We got it twice, 1 neckchoppper drop, even though we only had th1 :o
So, if u camp this NM, u will get like 20k every 20 min if u send the drops to mules or sell it.

for the last 4-5 days ive been camping panzer non stop at the southern spawn for maybe 25 hours total. in that time ive seen panzer... thrice. got drop all three times as well, ty TH2. all the research ive done on this NM tells me that its a lottery pop, and the two spawn areas are independent of eachother, meaning panzy can spawn at J-5, then respawn in just a few moments at L-6/7 if the beetles there are being killed as well. but at lvl 45, i was able to kill everything as quickly as it spawned at the south spawn, and have to wait a minute for something to pop again, you can do the math if youd like, thats ALOT of respawns. its rather disheartening, but i chose this NM to camp mostly because its never taken so im determined to get this NM spawn down to a science, if anyone has any panzer experiences they'd like to share dont leave out the details!

I was heading to jeuno and decided to check up on him. To my surprise he was there. Never before when i randomly check for an NM do i find them. So i get off my choco, own him with my 39 drk. No drop...just beetle jaw...baely paid for my 667 choco i got off from ;_;

i wasn't even looking for him, and i ran right past him, a lvl 20 asked me to help kill it, i was 30pld/war so i helped, and let him take the axe

I camped this thing for 2-3 hours for 3 days straight in the Eastern spawn (L6/L7) by the Weapon and Beetle spawn; never even spawned. Ahhh.... so depressing and my girl got pissed at me for wasting time to boot!

Anyway, I went ahead and spent my gil on the next great axe up and gave up on this thing. Good luck to all who camp this guy, and if you have any pointers please post, that old neckchopper is worth some good gil and I would like to try this sucker again.

This may sound silly, I was going to jueno after a good ballista match, as I need lighting crystals and theres a thunder elemental I pop my widescan get the elemental, proceded to see if there was another elemental close and there he was, kill him and got the axe

Well i know i am one lucky SOB but i camped him for about 30min.....and got hungry so i ran to pizza hut got back logged in and it looked like he was camping me. He was right next to me when i spawned lol. Anyways killed him no sweat as a lvl43whm/blm. 35k easy. then about 90minutes later a LS buddy level 25warrior wants this axe and i offer to help for the small price of 13k lol. 2 hour of killing beetles go by and bang it pops on him (and a rdm freind level 26 we brought with) while they were resting. At the time i was at the nothern spawn and they were at southern...so they both die and i get the with panzer at half HP but im training 4 other beetles lol. Not worried tho i single out the weak ones while using my AoE weapon skill earth crusher to weaken panzer...boom he dies and drops it again a 70k night<technically> but only really 48k can't complain 2/2 i love Panzer. both spawns were in L-7 back left corner. same drop both times Neckchopper and beetle jaw. neither of us had thf equipped, and it still dropped 2/2. good luck fellas.
My reccomendation sit down have a beer and definitley call for some Pizza Hut cuz it worked for me lmao...

Umm He spent TWO HOURS camping this for his LS friend...Theres nothing wrong with charging SOME gil, since his ls mate just got a very expensive item.

Yes, shame on you... i help my LS buddies camp the vulk empy all the time. Charge if you're helping a stranger.
I agree, shame on you for charging an LS member. Doesn't sound like a friendly LS to me. Also, maybe if you are charging someone for "help", you could say you're "working" for them. I think "help" sounds too benevolent a term for charging.

How about instead of thinking of it as "charging" and classify it as "splitting the profits" instead? Makes more sense, and prevents **** retentive people from getting their panties in a bunch. Personally, I would have split the profit with him as well. My time is money, and I could be off making gil somewhere else as opposed to gambing on a NM drop.
My experience with this guy - it popped on me once after killing placeholders. Has high defense, so if you're only a few levels above it, be prepared for a long fight. I believe I was a 32-34 RDM with WHM sub when I fought it. Took forever, but I nailed it and got the drop. I should go back now that I've taken up a new job and see how fast I can nuke the placeholders and kill panzer.

Yes, shame on you for not going farming for that time and making money compared to sitting around looking for a beetle so you might get an axe a friend wants. Heaven forbid HE buy one.
Why is he wrong for charging for his time? If someone from my LS helps me in any way I always offer to pay for their services. Shame on you people for taking advantage of your LS mate's time!!!
I think it's wrong to ask for gil for helping an LS mate, but it should be expected to give some sort of reward to people who help you often. Often times I'll give some crafting results or some gil to people who help me with something especially difficult. Example, I have a thf 75k for helping me get a moldavite earring (and for spending some time camping lizzy with me on the same night).

yup, same here, you must have been doing the north camp like me and that other guy who posted below...i was there about 4 hours and destroyed every beetle the second it popped and still...no pop.. i believe the north spawn is a very rare spawn place.

Hunted around the area where there are Boggarts for about 10 minutes and saw panzer pop. Promptly killed him and looted a brand new neckchopper off his dead body ^^
Me and a couple of 30+ friends tried camping this sucker for about an hour. We killed everything in sight at the north camp, but the little ******* never came. -.-

I camped him for about 45 minutes in the J-5 area, he finally spawned. He was fairly easy besides the 4 other beetles who linked. Killed him, got the axe drop, and escaped, and now I'll make 30K-40K off it. :]

As a lvl 33rdm 16whm hume, I beat him fairly easily. Forgot to buff up before going in so I activated 2hr to set myself up, might not have needed it.
Down to 45 mp, but hp around 245, did us divine seal once to cure II from 97 hp.
