11 claims and i finally got the drop..........
well, at least i got 33 spiderwebs out of the deal (3webs is normal drop) so i made a bit of coin, not to mention what i grabbed on normal spiders waiting for this *****. Not worth the time though.
Beat it about 2 weeks ago, i was just too lazy to post here.

I was out in the altepa area farming spider webs (mostly in west altepa) and I had heard about dune widow so I went to the spawn area and cleared out all the spider(got about 1 web doing that). no dune widow in sight so I logged off and came back a few hours later and killed all the spiders again. low and behold dune widow pops and I get claim. (there was a WAR in the area too and he was up to the same thing) heres how the fight went. I'm 60rdm/30thf(for farming).
Claimed him easily and threw up buffs, he wasnt able to do any damage to me at all. Took a few minutes to kill him and then i see the scrolling of items that he dropped. and what do you know i get 3x spider webs and 1x SPIDER TORQUE. I couldn't believe it because I've heard this drop is very rare. this was my first attempt at dune widow. anyways I can't wait to be able to wear this. btw it is going for 600k on Fairy o_o

I've sat there all alone for 1.5hours after last death and it popped. Died in front of me both times so i know she spawned within 1.5hours.
I don't think she has placeholders.....unless the placeholders are nowhere near where she spawns.

It was a full moon tonight so i thought that might help with the drop...After a little more than 2 hours of killing spiders the Widow pops, I claim it, I kill it, I get 3 spider webs again... 0/2 now. good luck to all of u trying for the torque

killed Dune Widdow 2x saw it die 1x. 1st time took 2 hrs to pop, i didnt claim, no drop, second time 56thf 40drk and me took it, 2hrs 30 mins, no drop, 3rd time i was offered a free tele so i thought i go check, it being a lottery pop had come back in about 1 hr so killed it no drop, but that was when i was sub blm. drops 3 spider webs each time. so im 0 fer 2 now ^_^ hope this helps anyone whos not on Unicorn server.

I've had Dune Widow pop AWAY from the sandpit...
Screwed up with my pull macro- it targeted an undead, so I poisoned it, then mashed buttons frantically as I was running towards the Dune Widow, landed a slow and got her. ^^
But yeah, FYI, it can spawn in any of the placeholder spots, it seems.

Whoo hoo killed it again no drop. Except for spider webs :( counted out its HP bc takes a while to kill added every singe hit and shockspikes and stuff total hP on this NM 4,122 :/ guess that explains it normal spiders there have 975

Also forgot to mention this would be a great spot to camp Cactuar Rapido. Everytime i am campin spider he Zooms by me like 5-10 times and i hit him with Bi0 II rasing my dark magic :P
Camped him a total of about 4-5 hours not straight in about 1-1/2 hour increments. supprisingly its not camped that bad in the am and late at night on cereberus. it popped i 63rdm/18thf killed it easy has alot of HP never hit me(Stonekin+Phalanx) but took sometime to kill worth time though. No spider torque :( but did get 3 spider webs which sell for 15k a piece in AH
I was runnin around in east altep on a choco as 31 rng lookin for some flesheaters to solo when i saw this thing walking around. So I hurry back to Rabao and switch to my 61 thf/nin and head back out on choco to the spot where i left em, and to my surprise nobody had claimed him, I guess its not a popular NM on Caitsith yet. I hop off and claim em. After a couple Dancing Edges it drops dead and drops 3 spider webs. I'm thinking "Hey, thats not bad for an NM ive never heard of." Later I find out that he drops the Spider Torque, which sells for 490-500k on Caitsith atm. Robbed once again ;;

Spawned him last night, took me about 3 hours... Killed Dune Widow easily as 59DRG, no torque, but I got the usual 3 spider webs.. (5 in total camping him)and Sold them instantly in jeuno..

I went out to hunt this NM because I'm about to hit 64 RDM and I didn't want to pay 370k for it or 900k for the Enfeebling Torque. I got to the spot around noon, 10 mins later someone else had claimed it and killed it, no drop. Almost an hour later (after constant killing of spiders) it pops again and I see someone else killing it. ; ; So I ask my LS to help me, a lvl 75 THF says sure^^ We go back to spawn area and start killing spiders. Another party consisting of a PLD and RDM show up, so I get a little nervous. One hour and 15 mins after last death I see the Dune Widow unclaimed walking around. Poison II it for claim, and call over the THF. About 45 seconds later its dead. Dropped 3 x spider webs and....Spider Torque!!! /em cheer! I couldn't thank my LS mate (Tyrtra) for saving me the 370k for about 30 mins camping. Now to hit 64. Good luck on your hunting for this cool item.

Don't I wish. Spider Torque is 700k on Asura, Enfeebling Torque is 2.2-2.5 million. /sigh
This *is* Asura we're talking about, though. Grats on aquiring yours. Hopefully I'll get mine soon.

Be happy the morethe things on Asura sell for and the more everything costs means its an active server peple do things people have alot of gil to spend you'llbe happy once your 75

Solo'd this bad girl today. Used 1 Sabotender and 1 Doom Scorpion. 3 silks no torqe. Gotta love how many NM's can be solo'd without any problems as bst. w00ter
Solo'd as THF60/nin...hit me TWICE w/o utsusemi...got 16XP..only reason to be lvl60+ as THF would be dancing edge for dmg <.<

Ive killed him the past 2 nights solo (lvl 55 RNG/NIN). Im still 0/2 like many others. But after killing placeholders and drops, ive made about 70k in spiderwebs.
EDIT: Im not 1/5 and my good RDM friend has a new Torque! WHOOPIE!

As PackyMcStout said below this notorious monster has a horrible drop rate for the torque. As of today I am 0/19 on the torque. But you do get 3 spider webs every kill. And spider webs are selling for 9-10k a piece on Asura, so at least im getting about 30k per kill. I refuse to pay the 380k for the torque in auction house. If you camp this NM, goodluck you will need it.

Can a lvl 55 blm, 50 pld, and 52 brd kill this?
The Torch Is a Very Rare Drop. Killed Her 3 times in 2 days, twice back to back. No Torch yet just spider Webs. *Edit Message* Oh did i say 0/3, well now it's 0/11. <Hmmm> *Edit Message* 0/16 now, Pretty sure this girl isn't going to drop the Spiders Torch without Treasure Hunter 2 0r 3. I've had thief subjob every kill, no luck yet.

I got 63 exp points for this at 48 solo.

I was farming spider webs there for a friend and trying to farm some manticore hair for myself also, i thought why not camp this while farming webs, after around 2 hrs it popped i killed and got 3 webs and spider torque, it was all GOOD ^_^V
The Dune Widow seems to pops around G-8.
Solo'd it as my 57 NIN/RNG.
I casted blind & paralyze on it and that was enough to only recast Uts: Ni occasionally.
Dropped 3 spider webs & I gained 21 exp.
Edit: Fought again today as same job & level. Gave me 3 spider webs & 18 exp.
