Vana'diel Bestiary: Death from Above  

Soloed the Wespes as 60 RDM (and got some light exp whilst at it :P) and got the larvae after about... 30-40 minutes I'd say. Though the night before when I tried to get the larvae, I went 3 hours without a single one.

Warped back to Jeuno and got my PLD, went back to the temple, and soloed Death From Above with my staff. Wasn't too hard, but he does hit fast. He got a bit irritating at the end with constant Pollen, but not hard. Got my hornetneedle, can't wait to try it out. ^^

duoed with 75smn as a 75rng. he eclipsed bite for like 2/5 of its life. i barraged and slug shotted and it instantly died and i got my needle =D

ROFFLE...i Soled this guy as 68THF/NIN utsusemi and bloody bolts own. Death from Above [You can hae this.] [Evasion bonus]. I severely owned him solo. Then i went back to help my other thf frien get his. We duo-ed it. SA's TA's and Dancing edge flying everywhere. ^-^ Tro to solo it if u dare, but if u dont have faith in urself then dont waste ur bee larvae trying to find out...took me a 1-2 months to get mine from a few 3hr trips to Temple-UGLY. [Too weak]

Soloed without much trouble as DRG72/WHM36.
Its not true he hit like 100 fists. He just have triple attack every attack and additional effect poison on top of that. I just the time behind triple attacks to throw a dia at him:)
Now to find out what to do with Hornetneedle, wish DRG could use><

My THF friend made me jealous of his HN, so i made him take me to the Temple for Larvae. Got it after an hour and a half. A few days later we fought him with 62 THF, 59 RDM(me), 60 WHM... Hardest part was clearing the room, cuz we ended up aggroing everything but the crawlers. NP, we organized and killed everything and spawned DFA. He hits uber fast (thus the speedy dagger) but is ultimately not too tough, we camped at the corner directly right of the entrance as you enter. No more THF envy, I have HN too, i'm pretty sure it's 100% drop rate.

Death from above was officially raped. The Sam 2 houred, and it was over. It took me two days of farming to get the larvae though >< After the NM fight, a Wespe aggroed us, so we killed it, and sure enough another Larvae dropped!! So we called up our other Thf friend and did it again. This time it was hard. The Sam's two hour wasn't ready, and it kept spamming pollen >< But we did it!!

I went with a THF friend of mine yesterday to fight DFA, so he could get the Hornetneedle. The battle was actually a lot easier than we antcipated. Our pt consisted of the following:

62 THF/NIN
67 BLM/WHM

My friend soloed Wespes for a few hours before he finally got his larvae, but once he did we proceeded to the Temple to fight DFA. We both inivis'd to the room, entered, and proceeded to the back, circular island across the bridge where the ??? spot it. Everything here was EP to both of us. On the back island there were 2 rumble crawlers and a branding iron (doll type). Neither of these 3 things aggroed us (I even ran right up in the doll's face and casted Regen on my friend and still nothing). We fought the crawlers anyway so that the THF could build TP. Once ready, we buffed and spawned the NM.

I was still resting mp at the time and DFA seemed to pop at the back of the island right behind me. My friend ran over and we began the fight. Almost instantly I knew that we were going to win. While DFA attacks EXTREMELY fast, he wasn't hitting for to much damage. My main role after debuffing was mainly healer, however, as my friend pretty much gave up on casting Utsusemi. Looking at the chat log later, it seems that DFA only did his pollen move once towards the end, but the THF already had another DE ready, so it was negligible.

Note: During the fight the THF used a Pear Au Lait and I used a Yagudo drink, but it wasn't necessary. We brought them just in case and were kind of disappointed when it seemed like they weren't going to be needed.

please anyone on odin server i have been looking for a pt to get the ornetneedle for weeks now with no avail can someone please help me ; ;

Took about two hours of killing Wespes to get the larva drop, and the THF showed up in maybe the last 15 min.

Couple days later, me and my static (60WHM, 65BLM, 60PLD, 60WHM, 60RDM) and a friend of the BLM (a 75 RNG) went to kill him. We got to the room with the ??? just as another party killed DfA. It took about 15 min. for the ??? to respawn, and we cleared the room in the mean time. With this much fire power, the fight w/ DfA took about 2 minutes. I think he had time to use pollen maybe once. So i'm now the proud owner of a shiny new Hornetneedle. Woot!
