no drop, wonder what the drop rate is on this guy, no one cares enough to kill him repeatedly i assume, well this is my new pet so ill start research

I just Duo this guy with RDM75/NIN37 (me) and 73 WHM we killed him real easy although i didnt know he would 2Hr and the WHM bit it, i finished it off but no drop of katana, but this NM is NEVER camped. so im coming back for round two tomarrow. this is never on AH i bet i could get a TON of gil for it.

ok just wondering, is this thing easier than Bisque-Heeled Sunberry? i soloed him earlier quite easily, as 66SMN. Im here at this guys spawn, waitin for pop>.< replies plz!!
Solo'd him as a 75blm.
Anyway I was fighitng him. He has a lot of HP, but didn't seem too hard. After one of my nukes i was in the middle of casting sleep. Then boom! He blows up. Did 578 damage to me. Lucky for me I had stoneskin up, but i had completley forgotten about his 2hr, so no barfira.
Anyway right after he mijin'd he got slept my sleep, which i started before the mijin. So he got slept laying on the ground. I thought he was dead, but still had 20% HP left on the bar. I nuked him and he popped back up. I killed him, but no Hocho. Just got Manji Shriken and Tonberry Coat, and 3k gil.

I was doing leviathan for someone as rdm/nin and I happened to find this NM, so I took it on as rdm/nin straight tanked it. It hit hard and was pretty tough but I kept debuffs and utsusemi on the best i could and I managed to kill it. Didn't drop hocho though :\
The 2hr only did around 200+ damage to me though, I didn't even know it could 2hr lol.

Always check the spawn of this guy before heading on up further in temple, and low and behold he was there O_O. With a WHM friend of mone flashed it and pulled back to the door to obtain Paintbrush of Souls item. This NM kinda caught us off gaurd so we weren't really buffed or full MP plus we had a link, so a few times we had it un-claimed and we'd panic to reclaim it. Friend told me i had to solo it using the nuke > sleep method. So she worked on the link while i nuke > sleep > rest > nuke etc. Didn't use Mijin Gakure which surprised me and once again.... mage get nothing from NM drops ;-; - we tried!
Just wanted to add to the list of drops that this guy drops Manji Shuriken

a 66Bard and i, a 68pld were killing stalkers for the opo-opo crown item when we seen this guy. he said no, i said wussy lets try. so we throw on our buffs and run in. the NM didnt seem that bad, but for just us two he was hitting decently hard at 60-100dmg and quite often. criticals over 170. bard was keeping ballads and foes requium flying and doing what dmg he can. i was in the red hp more then i thought i would be. this guy had enough hp to draw this fight out for over 30 min. then he pulled out the nin 2hr that really cought me off guard. it did 1200 to me and over 1400 to the bard. we got smoked. he was so close to dead after foghting it for so long, i had to run here and find out if our death had a purpose. this katana has me wanting to go try again.

What are the spawn conditions? I killed it like 3 hours ago and went to go kill Coffer mobs, came back decided to camp a bit >.>;;; but I dunno how he pops I heard it was spawned from Cutters <.<
killed it a few times, never got a hocho, but we did get a scroll of TONKO: NI one time of all the times we killed it. we sleeped/nuke to prevent it from using 2hr but it did anyways :P

I just killed this with a friend tonight. I'm a 63RDM, he was a 70WAR. Based on the experience we got, the mob was about level 65. Didn't get the drop though ><
lol I just got my *** handed to me by this little *******. Was fighting it and everything was going fine, until, Mijin Gakure....

LOL yeah, enough said, I was subbed WHM for Barfira, but lucky me, he used Throat Stab, and while I was trying to heal myself, my Barfire wears off, and about 10 seconds later, BOOM.

Blah, my cooking is 87 atm, and my highest lvl is my 50 DRK, so i'm kinda screwed in regard to this weapon. After I get cooking to 100 and get Chef Hat, Apron and Raw Fish Handling Skill, I think i'll camp the AH or get some HL LS mates to camp for me and pay em their cut. The only problem then is getting NIN to lvl from 13 lol.

We fought him last night while doing ZM4. It dropped the katana.

Killed it today with my linkshell when we were doing ZM4/Charging shield. He's really easy, just forgot to remind the whm to bar for Mijin Gakure so our lvl 65 DRKs got owned. I had to zone, then some JPs took it and started killing us, but I accidently MPKed them with some of the tonberries that linked. (they did try to MPK come of my LS members before though, so it was cool.) Like I said, easy fight...dropped a Hocho too.
How does this mob spawn - i.e., PH, loterry, triggered...
Take Caution when fighting this guy. My entire party of level 65 got wiped out on the first try of fighting this thing when it used Mijin Gakure. BTW, it does not die after using this ability. Then I came back and raised them all and we fought again, this time it didn't use its 2-hour, so we killed it (but put Barfira and Fire Carol up just in case)...no drop tho. Just a coat. Yes, its Mijin Gakure is AOE.

Fought this last night with me (74 BRD) and a 75 BLM. Only dropped the Coat and crystal
Copying a correction from the Kitchen Knife thread, this thing does not drop the "Kitchen Knife" because such an item does not exist. The name Kitchen Knife is just a translation of the item's real name, Hocho. So, this thing drops only the Hocho, and not the Kitchen Knife.
