i was on my way to bastok after farming rams in la thiene, and well i saw his name on my radar, so i shout to my hnm ls, Steelfleece @ <pos> and they start to come over, but just then a JP group starts to arrive so im liike, i gotta kite it or else they gonna take it, so i use flash and well, being a 64 pld i saw the damage go, 563, 349 critical!! 733 dead. a JP monk lvl 74 or so took him and well he was getting his butt whooped cause within 2 mins he was dead.. the jp ls takes him and they kill him with ease, i got raised from my ls and thats the end of that story.

I was anhilated by Mr. Steelfleece last night. I was lvling my SAM (only lvl 12 at the time) and I see him spawn. I stand rather far away and just start to watch to see who was going to come kill him.

Well he starts to lumber towards me, and me being the curious lil Taru I wanted a good screenshot. It didnt seem like he agrooed me, because he never picked up his pace. So I start to walk around him and WHAM! He just turned his head and swallowed me whole. It was hilarious.

A little while later a 72ish RDM came by and raised me. I bowed and told her Steelfleece was here. I guess she called a friend of hers and a 73PLD came and the two of them killed it. I stood back and watched the battle quite intense and very fun to watch.

Only ever had one encounter with this one so far. I was a level 40 pld at the time and called to a level 75 nearby.. Lets just say he must have been a little to close to 75. It was a long fight either way and after 15 minutes or so the Level 75 (PLD) started getting low.. I cast some Cure spells to try and keep him going.Finally some of his LS came to help. A rdm and Whm..(not sure exactly on levels)He finished it off but damn what a fight.

just killed him for the 3rd time. It was very intense this time though. I was doing a mule run when i seen that one of my ls mates said she just got stomped by a big ram in the highlands. I already knew it was him cuz she is lvl 30 and she said it hit her for 300+dmg.. So i log of mule.. log on to main <69pld> get on my static LS and only our 68 Whm is on <Empire> so i tell him Steelfleece is in the highlands and that i am omw. He meets me there and we go at it... Just me and him and his wife <Assim> 68 RDM she was afk so Empire had to do both for refresh. Steelfleace was only hitting for around 50 to 60 dmg so we were ok. Thank god Empire has Hexa Strike cuz he totally owned Steelfleece with it. The battle was long but it was the most fun i had killing a NM.

So I was planning on leveling my blm sub in the dunes the other night so I got a warp to Dem so I didn't have to wait for boat. Get to craig, decide to kill some sheep for little EXP and some skins. I'm healing before going to the dunes and all of a sudden BAM! Steelfleece pops. I looked at him and was like holy $*it. I immediatly call to as many high levels as I can. Two respond. 3 of us die. LOL. Wasn't even a challenge. We got wrecked.

A 52 whm was messing around Konschtat today helping someone with a quest and Steelfleece spawned behind him and wasted him. He said this on the LS chat and luckily I was in Jeuno as was my stp rdm. We get a warp very quickly to Dem, called up another 55 whm on the LS. Raise the 52 whm and there's the four of us. 60 pld, 60 rdm, 55 whm, 52 whm. No DD what-so-ever. I figured we'd give it a shot considering we couldn't pound him to death, but might out-last him. Well, we did. No close calls at all either. The fight lasted about a half hour with other LS's watching hoping we'd die and take claim. He uses some HP down move like all the other rams, everyone in my party got hit by it 5 times, luckily (since I was tanking) I resisted every time, otherwise it might have been some trouble. He used Mighty Strikes 7 times against us. His defense is pretty weak, but has a ton of HP. His accuracy isn't so hot either, missed me on about half of his attacks and when they did land he was hitting me for about 50 per hit. All the rdm debuffs were sticking amazingly, so yes he can be debuffed by at least a lvl 60 rdm. It was a very fun fight being that it was our first HNM fight. No shield drop unfortunately, but got the cool title The Hornsplitter, 2 ram skins, rampaging ram horn for a quest, some cool screen shots, and 13 exp. I'd like to fight him again, this time with a thf for a drop.

Edit note: I forgot to mention this thing is the size of a mountain. Absolutely huge. It's a good 3-4 times the size of a regular ram. I'm an elvaan, so I'm pretty tall, I didn't even reach halfway up its face. Just a cool tidbit of info.

This guy isnt too tough, i've killed him several times.

The smallest PT we killed him in was 4 people
levels 63-65.

WAR/NIN
SAM/WAR
PLD/WAR
WHM/SMN

The only thing this thing has going for it is a hugea mount of HP and great bleet. He has practically no defense. I was hitting this guy for 100-130 a swing with my axes on normal hits and WS Rampage for 750-1150.

So far my LS is 1/4 on the shield. Took 1 month to sell it for 800k. =\

Also I bet an alliance of 12 lvl 50-55 could take him^^

my friend 50 ranger see's it now he is trying to call over the whole LS :)( but ill say nah

I had just got my sub WHM up to lvl 15. Im done for the day and started to head back to Bastok. i get into the Highlands hoping i'd be able to use a choco cause i already had a license. No go. So i go around the dem from the north to the east side. I see someone shout for help in the area. thinking another n00b had wondered out to far i go to save the day!! I get the southwest corner of the dem, I stop, dont see anyone and turn to the west and this BIG A$$ STEELFLECE charging me!! So struck at the size i figured i wont be able to get away and in one hit (480 hit points) dead! hp was in the dunes. I get up and run back out to get a snapshot. Shoutin for any high lvl in the area to kill it. 4 lvl 75 ***'s come over and arent losin much life but are strugglin to take down its life! I got in plenty of snapshots of the beast. I now have a new beast i seek my revenge on!!!!!!!! And dont get it twisted this aint no Tremor or Rampage, this thing is a moving mountain!!!!!

Yeah, I know now the great might that is the BST/WHM, and behind every BST, there is Courier Carrie. Okay well anyways I was on my way to Sandy to start off my Rank3 Quest when I saw a ram in the highlands. My buddy Guerin (thats his name on Caitsith if you want to ask him about it) walks in and sees the Ram. For some odd reason it seemed just a tad bit bigger than usual, but nonetheless I come up to it and press Dismount. Just before I could confirm, Guerin says "DUDE NO!!" Thats when I look up and see the name Steelfleece Baldrich posted over the massive head, that seems to engulf that which is my chocobo. I instantly run back, press O to not make the folly of getting off my choco, and stare at the HUGE RAM. I pop off a couple SS's, (how do I get to those on my PS2?) and stare in awe at the gargantuous beast. Just then it gets struck by something that was unseen by me at the time. I run around to see who this fool is when I see, Courier Carrie??? Imagine the look of confusion in seeing a crab with pots on its back, school a 64 HNM... just then I spot the controller of the beast, a little Tarutaru BST, he debuffs the Ram, telling me that he must have a mage as a subjob, Well I see the Ram do this WHoOsH!, dust rises up around it, and it crits the Crab... this must be the Mighty Strikes the people were talking about. A RDM in Hume M RSE runs up and watches along with me, I snap a couple of SS's again, now the Ram is at 1/2 hp, it surprisingly kills the crab. The BST brings out another one and charges into battle with the Courier. Tabarzin in hand, he strikes the Ram and it turns on him, and crits, dealing a pesky amount of dmg to the Tarutaru, he casts cure 3 on himself and tells the crab to sic the Ram. Courier uses Big Scissors (or whatever that one that does that cool crab attack) and weakens the Ram to a sliver of life, thats when I realized that Great Bleat can still get me even when i'm on a chocobo, I get scared quick, but the Tarutaru crits and downs the Menace for good, I of course, get two more SS's in before the titan fades out of existence, only to pop on an unwary n00bs head another day....

After missing out on seeing him 2 other times, I finally got to see him.

My friends and I had just finished camping the Emp in the dunes and basically messing aroud to pass time when we teleported to Dem. Others Warped back to Jeuno, but I decided to hunt Elementals since it was Thunder weather. I head west with no luck. So I headed south to the area between the Crag and the mountain (to the west of the Crag) and I see a Ram. I head closer and target it. As soon as I realize it's Steelfleece I tell the ls that's he's out and unclaimed as I quickly backtrack to avoid aggro. Another and I stand and watch him from a distance. I then decide to go get a Choco to get a closer look. As I head to the Crag, a 61 Nin runs by. Then I see some others running from the Crag in full AF.

At this point my friends are heading back to watch. As I get back to Steelfleece on my Choco, I see the Nin fighting it. Just him and a 40 WHM casting Paralyze/Slow on Steelfleece. The fight took about 10-15 mins, with Steelfleece literally using Mighty Strikes every minute. I stopped counting at the 9th time.

In the end, the only damage the Nin and Whm took was when the aoe HP down wore off. Aside from that, Steelfleece never touched the Nin. No drop, but that was pretty damn cool to see.

I was on my way to jeuno when i saw this dude. i figured he'd be more like a Tremor ram than His La theine counter part. man i was wrong. he got me in one swing. cracked me for near 500 dmg. i was 20 at that time. it wasnt pretty lol. my last words were "/sh Meep! O_O"
