Is Guivre SE's idea of a cruel joke.. i walked in and saw 10-15 dead bodies in Kuftal Tunnel and then got killed while trying to raise. You dont see this beast till its too late. If you see her and manage to live, just leave and come back when she is not there. BAD JOKE SE!
killed this guy in an alliance of 18, mostly 70+'s.. a few 60's.. including me.. a melee doing 0 dmg and lots of misses(take a hint dont bring a melee to him unless say the melee is 68).
anyways, rather easy HNM.. high defense as to be expected(bring 4-5 blm). drop is worthless, no title, no nothing but fun. Overall i find this to be a glory kill, and just to help out the guys dying in kuftal. oh and it hit a 73 pld for 100 a hit he was buffed with protect 4, and had earth staff, adamn, etc. not so tough, not so tough at all.

Fact is he has NO true sight. I was there a couple of times for my Samurai AF coffer. Guivre was there 4 times. i invisibled myself ran to him and made funny emotes even with a poke i couldnt get aggro.

Got owned by this F***k! Today!! I cast sneak on myself because u dont need invis usually when passing through Kuftal Tunnel and i was just cruising along, passed my LS leader and waved at him, then all of a sudden im dead... it took me a while to actually realise i was dead it was so shocking an unexpected. It hit me for 555 dmg and i only have a total of 667hp being a taru and all. Managed to get tractored half way accross the map to a safe area and got a raise II thank god! 1.5k exp loss is not cool! with Raise II only 300 exp loss.
If you see the name "Guivre" come up on your screen in any way (I.e. "Azlan was defeated by Guivre." or "Guivre hits Dema for 565 points of damage." RUN!
He can outrun flee...
I now know for a fact that he cannot see you if you're sneak and invis is up. I know this because my party was running through Kuftal on the way to Terrigan and Guivre came up from behind us. Our DRK happened to be the unlucky one - and got cut down in three hits. I already had sneak, but when I saw Guivre's name I cast Invis.
I then turned around and saw him coming RIGHT AT ME!
I had heard rumors that he saw through invis, but I had no choice to stand and find out.
He ran right through me!
My theory is that they should make him drop something worth 6M gil so there'd always be a L70+ alliance there to kill him :P
I met him the other day. I was pulling crabs for my party and saw this huge dragon. I check him and do a "/p <t> NM". The party starts saying "O s#(t!!" and the such. I watched him snap the head off a fellow THF pulling another crab, as he was turning for me. I hit Flee as my Utsusemi shadows start dropping. I managed to get past my party before the last one dropped and he hit me for 500+. I lived thu that one and made it up to a Sabotender that killed me. In the mean time our BLM cast Escape and got the Party out safely. However when they tried to come back to Raise me it seems someone zoned Guivre and a few crabs with him because the 3 that came in for me gat ripped to shreds by several crabs as soon as they zoned. I'm almost affraid to go back to kuftal to level anymore. ; ;

walked up right behind him with invis on and slapped him like 40 times no aggro he did turn around and looked right at me while invis but did not aggro then he walked off.

for u guys who say that u got no aggro from having sneak/invis up i think it is because he was probably in persuit of another person on his hate list and so he didn't aggro u but this is my opinion if any1 supports this post it
Guivre owns lvl 70s just to let you know. I was with my lvl 73 pld friend...he died in 3 hits from guivre(edit: was an elvaan in adaman). Also when i went to kuftal tunnel to find my coffer.... i had to try 6 times... 5 of those times guivre came out. Yes you can flee from guivre but if you mean if he sees you you cant i'm not sure since i dont know anyone who has surrvied his encounter (not counting my friends who hunted him...they killed him 3 times now =D)

[Red][/Red][b][/b] Well I was there just like 2hours ago to kill the robber crabs with party minding are buisnes and we had collected like 1k of exp doing good.... then all of a sudden this damn dragon freaken spawns!!!!! and kills my who party with 1-2 hits. It killed everyone down in that cave. lol killed a lvl 70 thief in one hit..Well when we got a raise we got aggressed again by hunters. well we all lost a little over 3.5k we died multiple times trying to get out so we can go some where else to level and get are exp back. we we're a alsome party for lvl 51-52

This NM is not something u can solo or 3 people PT can do it!!
u need a whole LS or @ lest 3 full PT to get him down!!
I mean u can split the profit of the item it drop!!
oh BTW, what does this monster aggro by?
I know sight will 100% get aggro.
but do they also get aggro by sound too?

It has True Sight, so it will aggro to anything and everything.

Guivre does not have True Sight. Invis and run circles around him, he won't aggro.
Well i suppose you could run circles around him even though he is always moving most of the time and when he is he is going pretty darn fast; Even if you could run circles around him its not very smart since the robber crabs, sabentoters, etc will aggro to sound.

I was doing the summer festival moogle quest with a friend and we landed in Kuftal tunnel. We found the GoalPoint and so we de-invised. Clicked on it, talked to the moogle and got the items.
I decide I want to death warp so I go down a bit in the tunnel and then I turn around the corner and see THIS HUGE MO FO'ING DRAGON THE SIZE OF A FOOTBALL FIELD. (well not quite but you get my drift). It sees my friend, lays the smack down on her and then it seems me, I run, but the thing IS DAMN FAST for something that size! It's too late, and I die with a 500+ blow.
I learn later that it was feasting on a lot of level 50 parties and no one could bring it down! Where are the level 70s when you need them?
Anyway, IF YOU'RE DOING THE SUMMER FEST QUEST IN KUFTAL TUNNEL, BE VERY CAREFUL. Get your item AND GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!

From what my Dragoon friend told me, you can't Flee from him. He can keep up with a Fleeing Thief and eat him to shreds. Im wondering if this is true

Met Guivre for the first time today...
Ambushed me as I came around the corner... 3 hits and I was toast... from what I could see, there were quite a few other dead people there, with no indication of a high level group coming to kill it.
Guess she will be added to my revenge list.

Was in Kuftal for a summerfest quest, saw him and gave a shout, within minutes a leveel 70+ party came in and murdered it. Got some nice pics too.

Yea He Is One badass Wyvern but they didn't put that he also detects AND pursuit's by sight so once hes on you dont even bother running and getting others killed^^. Ill be 70 by this weekend and i cant wait to tank him, Good luck to all who do fight him >.>

I'll try to clear up the aggroing confusion. He is an HNM, he does see through sneak/invis. However, the summerfest is totally different from normal sneak/invis. During summerfest, you're virtually invincible until you attack something or drop sneak/invis yourself. Try walking up to him during the summerfest event, you're fine. Try walking up to him with normal sneak/invis, you're in trouble.
Bottom line: Normal sneak/invis he sees through, summerfest sneak/invis he doesn't.

Guivre, Vouivre, Bune....hell even Behemoth(I think him too, he didn't see through mine but maybe I just lucky). All are HNM and all don't see through invis, yet sight aggro. HNM does not mean "see through invis/sneak" some do, some don't. It's not a given. I've cast sneak/invis and put Guivre on Auto-follow before. If you don't know, Guivre runs around all over the place then he'll stop, and spin, looking all directions...and he didn't aggro. SOAP! No, he does not see through invis. Lessen for the day:
HNM != see through invis/hear through sneak.
HNM != see through invis/hear through sneak.
I've seen him twice. He has NEVER seen through my normally-cast invisible. Never. Not once.
If he sees you even once, you are on his hate list. Throwing up invisible AFTER he has seen you is useless.

HNMs can see through sneak/invis but the range to see through it is small so only if your really really close he can see/hear you.
Extremely unlikely. I literally run under one of his feet with invis on as he passed me (and I was passing him). Guirve may be a HNM and all, but he does NOT see through Invisible.
But there is one thing I cannot verify. Some say that if he has killed another member of your party, he will come for you even if you have Invisible up. I haven't tested this, so I don't know. But I do know that under normal circumstances he will not see through Invisible.

No he doesn't, he just walks along in his merry old way. I was along with a party headed to the cape when Guivre ambushed our whm along the way. After leveling the poor mithra he just kept walking away ignoring us.
I have to say that I love Guivre, Kuftal needs some population control...too many people and not enough camps.

I had a similar experience, I was sticking out a little in the party playing songs as a bard, he two smacked me for about a thousand damage, and kept on walking.
Our brilliant drk decided to go solo him, got aggro, and brought it to camp. Our ninja provoked it, and quickly died. After killing the ninja he walked away again, leaving the drk that aggroed him to begin with.

So I tracked the dragon and ran around it in circles and stood there and watched while it annihilated every player who dropped invis to get the goal point. But he didn't touch me until I dropped invis and attacked for a ghetto-warp home.

As for if he's by a goal point. Yup Yup. I spawned and he was just a little ahead of the area and RIGHT past him is the Goal Point.
Makes ya think they did this on purpose. That to reach the goal point you have to find a way Around Him. Quite Funny I think. Since you can come RIGHT back so no worries.
Also the second that can see through it is Ash Dragon In Ifrit's Cauldron.

He's never seen through my invisible.
He doesn't spawn and stay in any one part of Kuftal tunnel, either. He actively patrols the larger areas of the 2nd map of that zone. So stay frosty if you're ever travelling through it on your way to teriggan.

confirmed he does not see through summer fest invis/sneak because my sister was dancing around in front of him and near his feet, he did not see her at all until she dropped her invis and then she was dragon food in less than a second.
Incorrect. He can't see through your Sneak/Invisible. I also saw him during one of my trips. There were 4-5 of us chilling a tthe Goalpoint while he walked around the place. The only kid who died had already removed invisible to check the Goalpoint.

I saw this guy today while doing summerfest, ppl where shouting warnings of him being near a Goalpoint, anyway i ran there and did'nt c anything, luckily i was waiting for my partner so i didnt take invis off.....cant say the same for other unlucky ppl, he came outa nowhere and ate them ALIVE, sudenly i change my camera, and hes there no more...weird, anyway i got my item :P and thats my story

seeing as HNMs see through sneak/invis, would it not be the same for summerfest?
was doing the summerfest stuff today and doing my last one before getting my lords yukata, saw this big dragon come stomping right past my wyvern and me to the goalpoint where he decided to much on everyone that had un-invised to wait fer their partners. was pretty funny after a while because people were removing their invis and getting killed in one hit even after the repeated warning shouts about it. well...after the 15 mins me and my partner sat watching it waste people, i decided to take a picture of him and my wyvern before we left and got my lords yukata, yay^^
Ready to party in Valley of Sorrows, someone casts Sneak on me, and I start to "Flee" through the zone...

he pops late friday night right after i had gone to bed, according to the pld in the party
well almost 24 hours later, i'm 1 r-crab tnl and he decides to pop. whm took no chances and teleported us out to mea and we went to boyhada to get my level
sneak/invis does not work on this mob.
i think this mob is on a 24 hour pop timer and a possible lottery of r-crabs.

Hehe, I was lvling off Robbers in Kuftal today when this guy spawned and whiped out a whole party...roughly an hour later I came back with a new party and watched a team of charmed monsters take this thing down... Alliance of BSTs, pretty cool =)
