Can a lv60 sam/rng solo this thing? O,o
I mean like if i use 2hr and keep spaming sidewinder, consider it lands every time, it would be like 700-800 dmg each. Regular meikyo shisui can give 5 sidewinders, and barrage for a boost gives 6. Can that be enough to finish him off in a short time, or even b4 it uses eagle eye shot?

I just fought it a few minutes ago in an exp pty I like the gil it drops...and btw we did not get the drop.However I'm just posting up some info: For those of you who don't know..he spawns at (I-9) actually just down the stairs coming from the zone...if u have the right lvls he actually very fun to fight...I guess me&my pty got lucky he spawned in front of us lol.but if anything fight him for xp and gil if ur below his lvl that is...
anyone know the pos of it?
I camped him 8 hrs the first time, no pop. The second time I camped for 12 hours before he poped. Killed him and get 2 ****** iron ores and a antican robe. ;;

Ok camped him for about 40-50 hrs added together now, lost him once and killed him 3 times. Still no drop :/ (had thf subbed)
Edit: finally got the bow, 1/4 and about 55 hrs wasted O.o

Camping NMs is a funny business.
Camped him with 1 or 2 LS buddies for a few hours a day about 4 times in a row. They knew that I really really wanted this bow to make a lot of people angry in ballista. Anyways, I killed place holders as well as the surrounding anticans to pass the time. He pops up and then goes down...no drop. Got adaman ore a couple times as a consolation prize.
Then a few days later, I get a tele-altep and decide to check out the NM camp before I go to bed. Killed the placeholder and go AFK for about 10 minutes. I come back and I see him wandering around aimlessly. So I voke him (NIN60/WAR) and type rampantly on the linkshell log that he popped. They all laugh and get a port as well. They head over to Rabao and either change their job to THF main (with TH2) or THF sub (TH1) and then make their way over to me. While all this is happening, I'm just in a /sit position as I see the NM shoot arrow after arrow and miss LOL. 7 minutes later, they show up and start whooping on the NM after they join my PT. While they are fighting I did some voodoo magic and sacrificed a chicken (okay, I really just ate some KFC) until the NM was dead. The Loxley Bow is finally mine!
Now, I just need to wait another hour I'm off work and I get to test this bad boy in Ballista 60 cap tonight. WOoooOOooOHooOooOO!

i recently camped it for the 1st time as my mnk/nin. camped for 2hrs and it popped. easily solod it, but got no bow and only some ores. so left for 2hrs. then after 2hrs, i came back to recamp it. 4hr wait and no spawn, so i left. hours later, i decided to camp it again. camp another 2hrs and POP! fought it and finally got the d@mn bow. this bow is very fast. shots before u even see the animation of taking out the arrow. so it was worth it^^.
hmm i killed this guy about a month ago when i was lvling pld with a pt of 6 only 2 ppl died including(sp?> me =D but it was fun
Well. I started at 5 right after the 6 hour maintenence and starting killing. I did'nt even see him till right around 11:30.

Anybody know WHERE this guy spawns? Quicksand Caves is huge, and I'd like to get this bow.
ok here ya go:
get a tele-altep.
if u have a map of the desert u can see the zone to QSCs. its the zone at the very bottom, left hand corner of the map. (eastern altepa)
once inside, u should see a few helm beetles in the stairwells there. then u come to a large open room with a big pillar in the middle. (i believe this is where ppl exp at 47-50.)
anyways, there are 5 ant spawns in this room. 2 signifiers(blm), 2 hastacus(war), and 1 princeps(pld).
they always spawn in that order if u clear them all out right away. (sig, sig, hast, hast, prin)
the NM spawns in place of the princeps.
they spawn about every 10 minutes.
i dont know if its a 24 hr spawn or what its time is. im on valefor. my friend phon camped for about 5 hrs and never saw him. my other friend cuidado camped for 7 hrs and never saw him. i camped for 4.5 hrs and he spawned.
dont worry b/c this bow is only considered useful for a few things. its rare/ex and so it obviously isnt in demand by gil-sellers. my point is, its rarely camped. your only competition will be exp pts or random groups running thru looking for coffers. if a coffer group knows u r camping him they shouldnt interfere. if u r alrdy there, an exp pt probally wont even stay to ask what u r doin, they will find somewhere else to go.
by the way, i was a 70rng/nin. i had a 67nin/war with me. we owned him big time.
i just sat there and let the ninja tank him until he used EES at about 50% left, then i blasted him with slugshot, barrage, slugshot.
i couldve soloed him if i knew hed be that easy.
btw---the bow is ridiculously fast. u will get examined alot lol.

...for about 4 hours combined, clearing the room of every single Ant, and he never spawned. ;_; I'm still 1 1/2 lvls below it, so I've got time.

Sleep arrows dont work on him, i guess i shoulda known that, but just a warning to those that dont. i attempted to solo him today on my lvl 64 RNG/NIN. suprisingly i got him to half health on sleep arrows, dont ask me why i was still using them after half health of not working, i guess i just really badly wanted sleep to land. long story short, i died. 15 minutes later my warrior and whm friends come to raise me, and we just compleatly owned this thing in under 30 seconds.
me and the warrior are 64, and the whm is 70+, but my point is its pretty damn weak, and my demon arrow "attack down" effect landed each time, so i know for a fact he's resistant to sleep.
oh btw... we didn't get the bow ='[

I solo'd this last night as RDM61/thf15
It was too hard for me to melee it, so I zoned to rethink my tactics against this RNG, and got ready to fight him.
The only self buffs I used were Protect, and Blink. I gravity'd it to the stairs near the zone, bound him and cast bio 2 and poison 2. Got out of range, and rested. Bind wore before Gravity, so I would marathon him closer to the zone, cast stoneskin, bind, and repeating Gravity, bio, and poison as necessary. In preperation for his 2hr, I figured to be ready for this at 75% or less, I just zoned when I saw the animation, and it worked.
Gave me 50 XP, 4.6K gil, darksteel ore, and mythril ore.

Well I was in a (fantastic!) party the other day in Quicksands, a group of level 49-51s - we were waiting for the 49 to level so we could head to Garliage ... exp was still over 130, oddly enough. Then our sam aggros this guy. We zone, terrified it's something that's level 65+, and one pt member looks it up on his laptop, sees it's only 55, and we decide we should just try for fun. We come in, our nin tank (my fiance ^^) is doing a superb job, and I'm keeping Earthen Ward up and healing when rdm stopped to ATTEMPT to enfeeble it ... We got it to about 2/3 health with no problem, when shadows ran out (happened only twice, he's a good ninja) this guy only hit for 30-40 damage.
Then nin shouts "OH SH** ZONE RIGHT NOW!"
The pt freaks out, I have chat filters up so I didn't know what was happening - then I see mnk's hp go from 1020 to 0. We had a link (signifer T_T) and a pt of full AF people, a whm, rdm, and a war, had come in to fight this and were apparently angry we'd gotten it. I fought this the other day with a 60 RNG, 63 WAR, 61 RDM, and myself, a 60 PLD. Easy, easy fight. I never had to cure myself. His eagle eye shot hit me for a little over 200 points. Too weak for a level 55 NM. Bow dropped.
If anybody reads this. I am really interested in which zone in you find him at. Is it J-7 in eastern altepa??? Or a little lower. I can get the help to camp him. I just have never seen him anywhere and I exp there for extended periods of time quite often.

Just killed it tonight with 59 rdm (me), 60 war and 67 war. Wasn't too bad, his eagle eye shot or whatever is the one to watch. Hit our 67 war for damn near 800 points.

Some LS members and killed it just a few hours ago. Party setup isn't really important since we didn't start the battle, just finished it, but still:

We were originally skilling up and trying to get a Quicksands coffer key, so we weren't expecting this to be up (nor knew what it was, at first). When we saw an anonymous AF RDM and WHM fighting it, and not able to finish it off, we claimed it after they zoned at less than 10% HP left, the SAM tanked (heh) and we got:
935g (each)
24 Experience points (me)
Antican robe
2x Iron ore
Mythril ore
Darksteel ore
Loxley Bow (promptly went to the RNG)
I actually got the killshot, 5 points off my whimpy beestinger. Heh.
I do feel a little sorry for the group we claimed ot from, but it was either us or the 74 RDM/NIN that was watching the fight near the zone. I'm just glad my Dia somehow won. o_o All's fair in love and NM hunting, I guess.

Read one of my original posts above. He's immune to sleep bolts/arrows. I know Shadow-type mobs can be slept with Sleep Arrows (I was doing this to Spriggans, while trying to get a friend of mine her Coffer Key). But this Antica can't be slept with Sleep Ammo. Sorry.

Hello. I was just lvling right now and i was puller. My pull macro looks like this "<t> ranged attack". Ok i was tired and just pulled it cause it was alone. i dint notice at first i thaught someone was telling there sign. i was like why the hell does any one wanna know your sign. then i saw that it came from me lol. it was scarey we didnt take it thou didnt wanna die in such a good party. then we go back to take him and some lvl 70 nin had him. :(. dont be a coward take the risk lol. good night.

im 95% sure they both can because it slike lvl 55 so if one was lvl 68 the 68 could solo it but yes im sure they both can

Also, wanted to point out that I don't thinks this NM is Lv55. I'm Lv.70 and received 12 XP from it, and was in a 2-person party. Wouldn't that mean I would get 24 XP solo? When I killed The Keeper of Halidom (By sheer luck) at level 70, I received 20 XP and it's considered Lv60. So I'd assume this NM is higher than Lv55, and slightly higher than 60, based on the XP I received
It would mean you would have recieved 20 solo. A party of 2 doesn't cut exp in half for each member, you get 60% each, assuming you are the same level. In a full party of 6 it's 30%, I don't remember the multipliers with the ones in between.
Soloed him last night as a Lv.70 RNG. Brought my 65 THF friend along for the ride so I could abuse his TH2. Even though I had utsusemi up, his ranged attacks were apparantly missing every shot because at about halfway through the battle (Mobs @ 50% life here), he uses Eagle Eye Shot, and I blink it off like it wasn't a big deal, and I still have utsusemi up. I tried sleep bolts to keep him asleep at the beginning, and after about 10 shots, I realized none of them were going to put him to sleep. Maybe because he's Dark-based? Just to be safe, I had the THF sub WHM (65 THF/32 WHM). Didn't have any problems with the fight though. Just pissed my Sleep Bolts didn't work.
