As far as I know the Francisca is a 100% drop from Aquarius now. It's a shame they patched him so he no longer drops the cloth. He's pretty much a thing of amusement now. People fight him for ***** and giggles.

Me 60 bst and 64 bst killed this thing better then a 75 mnk sub nin with good gear he got pwned... he ended up partying with us and we did all the work
I just finished soloing him as 74THF/NIN. Used about a stack of shihei and 20 bloody bolts, capped Evasion skill with +51 Evasion in gear, fight was pretty routine until near the end when I couldn't get shadows up, I had to bloody myself back to near full before he went down. Fought toe to toe, without any kiting or DoT.
This is after my last attempt, when I tried to save the claim for a BST that missed charm; I didn't bring bloody bolts and his Bubble attack hit past my shadows and at the highend of damage, killing me.
My next target: BUNE...

so... a 71sam/35nin... 73rdm/15nin (me) decided we wanted to die >_> so we were gonna see how tough this dude was... our original plan was to just try to melee him.... after about 10 seconds we decided taht wasn't going to work. so with the idea to zone in mind i casted gravity and we took off! then we found a ncie big room with lots of stuff to get in it's way >_> so we decided to just run around the romm spamming RA on it while it chased us. when we had it down to about 80% hp a 61 bst joined us because it looked like we needed help (as we really did need his help) so on and on it goes slowly wittling it down until blamo! we win!
well that's my tale of the aquarious fight! i took the best screen i could get of the finish with francesica thingy droppin Quickwing(me) is rdm Filsy is sam and the other dude is the beast. if i knew how to post it i would >_> but i dunno how.
I am now the proud owner of a useless piece of axe >_> as i've only lvl'd mage jobs...

BLM74/RDM37 tarutaru I just solo'd this guy XD he killed me once, asked a bst nearby to R1 me, got up he joined i cast gravity stole hate from pet, he ends up dying and I zone b/c he RR and try's to charm a mandy while weakened <.< it failed and I had to sleep a hoarde of mandy. He takes off and I come back to the tree full mp full buffs and I start in with Blizzard IV, i kite him around using gravity and stun just keeping Bio up for DoT and doing aspir and drain (drain for about 5-6% of his life minimum.) was really fun he almost got me once but I stunned and ran and got back in action.

We just took this yesterday and we had 75 sam 75 mnk <me> 75 nin 75 rdm and a 60 thf. Needless to say ninja had a hard time keeping up shadows cuz it swings really fast other then that we dropped it in about 2 minutes and got the axe for the sam since hes also got his rng lvled. he was easy with ninja tank.
Just got this axe today. I was duoing with a 62 SMN linkshell friend.... and a Japanese 75 WHM/BST was attempting to solo it. We left him to it. I knew if he was 75 BST also he could charm mobs OK. But that NM Funguar popped on top of him... would you believe it!!! So he had two NMs on his ***!!! Poor TarOO >.< Me and my partner took the Funguar NM off him but he still died.
Nobody else claimed Aquarius so after he re-raised himself he asked if we would help. We dived in! The fight took about 25 minutes and I died twice. >.< Aquarius critical hit me twice in a row for first death and I also died to failed charm when weakened. Silly of me I know... but I didn't want them to wipe while I just lay there.
Anyway... Aquarius eventually fell and it seemed the WHM/BST already had the axe as he passed immediately. Nice TarOO :)))
My partner asked for the drop and I was gonna say yes till I saw what it was. I didn't even know what Franseca was till I saw it! My partner is a 62 SMN main by the way.... he can't use this axe for ****! LOL!
He's already lotted for it... only 56! So I said that I could really use that axe... he said go ahead... and it was mine :)) (512 lot)

Keep a bit of space between him and yourself doing pet swaps and it just becomes a war of attrition. Took about 25 minutes.

Shouting for help to kill this damn *** crap(crab) but no one helped and my LS all busy lvling & doing PMs, thought i go to boyada and see if there is anyone who can challnge it.
1st fight:
me(rng64) and thf75 and our NPCs, killd our sorry asses :(. got a raise from solo Nin/whm64 and wanted to fight him back with nin with us and his rdm68 friend ,thanks for the help but it was claimed by japanese nin75 ; ;. wanted him to die but he brought his war75 fren with npc, and they fighted for like 20mins and killed it.
2nd fight:
me and my cat friend blm74 camped it while chatting in LS... ofcourse we cant beat it by our selves but we thought we could bind-sleep-nuke it. actually waiting for our rdm75 LS friend to come too.
he poped up, i pulled tried to sleep/bind it my blm friend coulndt i Stich it and died :(, same time the rdm come and raise me and joined the fight.

it was really a fun fight we almost all rdm,blm enbef speels were rejected, so ..... we used gravited and kiteeeee!! marathon xD. and i stich and nuke!
took us 20m to kill and one death of me .. cuz i couldnt stich while moving ,, i had to sacrfice to get this damn axe ;D.
it was fun .. hope its helpfull,,, its more stronger after the VU in December.

I was in a manaburn party and we got fast exp but was running out of mobs to kill, crabs and crawlers and this one poped.
LOL no we did not fight it but I asked if we could and they said no :p
I would love this axe for my WAR job, I mean it's a nice dmg axe and free if I got it dropped.

We bumped into mr Crabby here on our way to an xp party (lvl 68-70ish). we had just rebuilt our pt after leaving Bibiki Bay (waaaay too crowded nowadays) and I arrived first and was waiting on the pt members. I was listening in on the pt chat when our RNG mentioned Aquarius has been spotted. Somebody decided to take a crack at Aquarius just to try our luck and I quickly scanned the map and converged upon my pary.
By the time I arrived near the area, our pld was at close to 50% hp... I managed to see my pt scattered across the near vicinity tryign to zone when I tossed Gravity on it and it stuck pretty nicely (thank you spider torque! XD) we were pondering the decision to simply zone it when our ldr decided we should take it.
We lured Aquarious into one of the larger circular areas near the entry tunnels and gathered for the fight. our pt consisted of RDM, SMN, SMN, RNG, PLD and MNK. We gathered ourselves in the center while the PLD kited it around the outer edges. the SMN's summoned their Avatars and proceeded to beat the hell out of it while healing the pld... Thr RNG kept taking shots at it as it went around in circles. I kept Gravity and Aspir on it, Refreshed the mages, while doing the occsional Thunder II or so... slowly, we saw that our strategy was prevailing... until one of the SMN's ran out of mp... then the other. By now the NM was mostly dead and one last quick drop of my Thunder II polished it off.
Needless to say, it was one of the funnest NM's I had the pleasure of taking on.... and we had a well-tuned group that quickly adapted despite heavy injuries from early attempts to escape.
In the end, I think the key is Gravity, a good kiter, and plenty of ranged attacks.
P.S. We got the drop, except the RNG alrdy has one... so we gave it to the pld who may lvl war eventualy... XD

Killed this yesterday with a Friend (NIN 75) and me (BRD 65). I kept double Mambo on her and double ballad on myself. Carnage Elegy on Aquarius to slow it to a crawl (never resisted). Was very easy, even when I got a link. Took about 10 minutes to kill it and only damage we ever took was from AoE.
I was doing a skill-up in The boyahda tree yestarday, me and the DRK had gone a head and just as we got to the place where you usually sneak up before heading on, the DRK notices Aquarius. We waited for the rest of the party to get in, and they wanted to fight him at the zone. So I bound him (worked first time) and ran onwards but then I thought. what if he loses hate, turns out he did.
The DRK then pulls him instead and I watch to makesure he doesn't lose hate, about half way to zone he does so I bind him (which failed) and the DRK Stunned him. This time got him all the way to zone.
So makesure this guy doesn't lose hate, He though it with I think WHM/BLM (me, planing to aspir crabs for MP... yeah right -.-), RDM/BLM I think, DRK/NIN, DRK/WHM (I think), WAR/NIN and I forget whom the 6th member in the skill-up was at that point >.<.
I got final hit and one of the DRKs toke a screenshot which I will soon be adding to signature as soon as I get it ^^.

Duoed this with Beeraga, 61 BST/whm and my 61 BST/nin.
Spent 80% of the fight in between 80 and 154 HP but still managed to kill it ^^
Tons of fun...always one mischarm away from death. Don't recommend attempting this low level if there are too many people in the tree as you will run out of pets. We threw about 25-30 EM and Tough pets each at it (Death caps and spiders).

Well being the hot shot I am, I thought i could solo this on my 60BST... this little ******* crit me for 580. I got him down to about 3/4 Health when i decided i needed help so I asked this lvl 70 JP BST, Took us about another 30mins to kill him, I got the Fransisca , Theanks Realm :D
Can someone tell me where is this thing and whats the spawn-time? I want to be sure.
Killed her the other day. Setup was me(71PLD),70WHM,and 72RDM. It was a relatively easy fight. I tanked it with my E-staff. RDM did most of the damage. Because she hits so hard and so fast all I could cast was a Flash and,if I was lucky Cure III or IV.Spirit Taker was pretty weak againt her,like it is against most Crabs. Usually only got me enough MP for another Flash.WHM stayed resting and would bomb a Cure V and Haste when needed. Took about 10-12 minutes.MP never became a huge issue. If you're a PLD and love taking a good beating seek this lil crab out. It's an extremely fun fight. ^^/

popped at exactly 2hrs killed it with 75NIN 54WHM and 58MNK(me) 75MNK came to help after it was almost dead cuz it had alot of defense but it was easy pops every 2hrs on leviathan server
Was in an xp party as my RNG (54) at the time.
Was running around not really paying attention pulling crabs back to camp. We were killing crabs pretty quick so I'd usually have to wait for one to pop. One popped, I targeted it without even thinking, and hit my pull macro.
Boy was I suprised when my macro read:
Get ready to kick the *bleep* out of this Aquarius

Needless to say I was lucky I turned in enough time to prevent me from even shooting. Fortunately I had just put a /wait 1 in my macro which not only saved my life, but my party members as well.
Well we all had a good laugh and I went back to pulling regular crabs while Aquarus sat there and taunted me.
About an hour passes and not one person attempted to kill it. I'm running around again trying to find some crabs and what to I do? Targeted Aquarius AGAIN. Luckily I noticed and was able to run to prevent the pull (party didnt think it was as funny second time around).
About another 15 mins. pass by and a brave Ninja decided to give Aquarius a try. Things were going good until the Ninja lost his shadows. After that it was pretty much over. The Ninja almost made it to zone, but ended up getting KOd just before (I can only imagine the parties coming in seeing none other then Aquarius stareing them in the face as they zoned).
Another Ninja showed up and decided to try his luck. Fight lasted at most 2 min. before his shadows dropped and he was forced to 2 hour.
Needles to say I was becoming aggitated. Seeing this crab completely tear apart two higher level NINs. Not only was I irritated at the fact that Aquarius went unclaimed for so long, but also thinking about the day when I would have to return to face this crab.
Then a shout: "Aquarius {Do you need it?}". To which the DRK in my party replies "{Yes please}". I asked the DRK if he needed the axe and he said no. Thankfully he let me join the party that was going to kill it.
I quickly disband my xp party and get invited to the one that was going to fight it. I was suddenly sad seeing only two people in the group. A 70 NIN and 70 WHM. Seeing how the two NINs earlier got beat so badly I felt I was on my way to a sure death.
The battle began and I started spaming bolts like crazy to no avail. Either I missed completely, or hit for 1 damage. I finally got enough TP to weapon skill which did 3 damage total. Fight was going good and then it happens. Ninjas shadows drop. Thankfully he was able to get them back up in time and the WHM was able to to get his HP back.
After 3 stacks of bolts (for those that are not aware 99 bolts make up a stack), 35 min. fighting, and the NIN going through his stash of tools, we kill it. Axe dropped and was passed to me.
Though it seamed that it was going to be another failed attempt and I would have to return again later on, it actually turned out pretty good.
I said my thank yous and disbanded the party.
I got re-invited to my xp party and apologized for doing that to them. Thankfully they understood and had a good time watching us beat on that crab. After about five min waiting for a couple people to return from being AFK I went back to pulling without any worries of accidently snagging Aquarius again, and was able to hit 55 and unlock Sidewinder and Slug Shot.
For those that want this axe I recommend asking parties in the tree if Aquarius is out and if it is to get a Godly NIN to tank it, and a higher up WHM to cure when the NINs shadows do drop. Otherwise, you'll need a nice bit of DD and some healers to take it down.
Sorry for the long post, hopefully it was somewhat entertaining, and good luck if you ever run into this steroid taking crab.

Soled this as a 65 Bst then again at 73. All you have to do is run around and keep switchin off onions or bring it to the 2nd lvl and us korigans. I like keepin it on the lower floor cause there basiclly no way you can lose. It was hard before i figured out this tactic...now its extremly easy.

I solo'd this bad boy the other night after I spotted him while in a skill up party and got the Francisca for someone (Smn74/Whm37). I slowly, but surely chopped him down with Carbuncle, first putting up Stoneskin and Blink, then having Carbuncle Assault him. From there I ran to the zone, and kept summoning, and running through the tunnels near the zone. When I had his HP at around 20% I brought out Ramuh and 2hr'ed Judgment Bolt and got the kill. This was no short fight, but it can be done.
What's the wait on Aquarius? I need a Fransisca for my WAR.

Wait, does Aquarius still drop the cloth, can anyone please confirm this for me, because if not getting a Vermillion Cloak will suck even more than it does already...
From what i gather, no it does not drop cloth anymore. Used to be heavily camped by gil farmers on my server but after patch not anymore. Soloed it last night with no competition around. hope this helps
Thats correct, it no longer drops d.cloth. GMs were totally gay about this NM..... if you claimed, gil sellers would train alot of Robber Crabs or Steelshells to MPK you.... if they succeed, GM will say "we'll look into it..." and nothing will ever get done. But if gil sellers claim and you even T R Y to MPK them... you get thrown in jail or banned.... oh wait.... that happens on any NM LOL!!

(Conspiracy theorist) You know why this is? Square Enix makes gil freely, gives it to web sites for a certain price so they make money off something technically worthless, worthless in the real world. I beleave all Online games might be doing this. (Gilfinders) are highered cheaply to raise AH prices, kill HNMs and over all make it harder for the real players to survive without buying gil. They are SEs scape goats. -.-
