Just killed it again for my second character, my Galka NIN already has one. Not sure how long it took to spawn, we were killing PH'ers earlier in the day, doubt anyone else camped, then LSmate was doing same later for at least an hour. Went to kill 2 shadow NMs, came back, spent maybe an hour more killing pops, he left (ring was for his PLD), next pop after he warped was NM.

If you are going to melee it as RDM/NIN, think twice. Use Platoon Dagger or Beestinger or both, hope to get mostly zero damage hits. I actually died as 75 RDM/NIN but because I aggro'ed a Mousse when I bound and tried to Sneak to zone. Then another. Stupidly I had left all three other pops up without killing because I was a little excited even though I was the only one in zone. I still made it to the path up before dying to like 9 undead and 3 slimes, lol.

Anyways, came back RDM/BLM with my brother on his 75 BRD. NM was still heading slowly back to spawn point, I bound, Fire III, pulled him near entrance and lower mobs, nuked-kited, Convert'ed once, and finished him with Fire III > Blizz III > Thunder III. Fight took maybe 6 minutes, Grav did start wearing towards end, but very easy this way, only one Fluid Toss, no adds, no undead aggro, got ring. Nice little item for my ninja and RDM.

In retrospect I think NIN/RDM would have been my choice. Elemental wheel and higher evasion at 69 than RDM at 75. NM is not accurate, does not hit hard, only Fluid Toss is dangerous.

75/37 PLD/RDM soloed in this afternoon. Took about 40 minutes. DEF/VIT setup with 210 Enhancing Magic, Barwater, Phalanx, Enblizzard, Bio II and Stoneskin. Reapplied Stoneskin as it came down, or when I thought it was about to break. Started with a Durandal for extra damage mitigation and TPed to 300, then used Chivalry to max back out MP bar once I ran through my first.

Switched to Jadagna(Club) at this point and continued to reapply Stoneskin, using Sentinel/Shield Bash/Rampart when it was available in one go to make for a 100% recast on Stoneskin once it broke. Applied Regen and Cure II to any damage that was taken, and used Starlight when it was available to restore MP.

Outendured him to 30% where Chivalry came back around, switched to Sword for faster killing, got to 300% TP and had him down to 5% at that point. Just went with a clean Spirits Within kill for 780, instead of converting with Chivalry. A very long, but worthwhile fight. Enjoyed it.

Camped for about 2 hours.
Careful

If you're RDM, i would not recommend meleeing this.

Its really powerful TP attack hit me for like 200-300 every time...it wouldn't have been a problem if the haunts hadn't aggroed me too. Damn you undead and your resistance to sleep!

Kite it and nuke. It's quite easy.
lol...

For those who said this fight is hard... lmao.. is all i gotta say.. was down killing PH's, killed 2 and he poped.. since reading the forums said he was hard for a RDM/NIN i thought well i should get a healer.. got a whm after looking at him for like 20min +heregoes the fight figured he would not miss and hit hard.. MY A$$.. i owned him. about a 20min fight 75WHM casted haste and Protect thats it.. i think i got hit for a total of 2 times.. and for his "AoE" lmao it took 2 shadows and he used it like twice. BTW for who want to know, i was 75Nin/War

I've solo'd this NM twice as rdm/nin using the 0 damage ceremonial dagger method (got the idea from Avesta soloing Bune, although i'm sure it was around before him). Enfire was doing around 24 damage a hit. It only used 1 tp move each fight, due to shadows being down and it getting tp while i recast and occasionally i'd critic for 1 damage.
As for where to fight, gravity it to the lower lvl slimes, rather than going to the zone, no aggro there.
I was set up for acc and -attack/str so it didn't miss too often, kept slow II, bio II, and paralyze up for most of it till i got a little low on mp. Then i just refresh, haste, and beat it up till i got more mp.

As for the spawn time i wouldn't be able to tell you, both times i went in killed the slimes a few times and it popped. Never really kept track of it...

Pretty easy fight if you have the shihei and time to burn on it, and you know what you're doing. Went 2/2 on it, so i wouldn't worry about drop rate at all. Didn't let my drg friend do anything for the 2nd fight, so i say i solo'd both ^^b
Huh?

I dont see a lot of PRACTICAL info on here about the mob, so I thought I'd offer some. THe MOb doesnt seem to be time based, and is 100% lottery of the 4 mousse placeholders around the room with 2 haunts in I-11 (and H-11 for PH) but the SS will ONLY pop IN the haunt room. Anyway, it took 8+ hours of killing PH's for him to pop since last ToD <.< I guess I was very unlucky.

In any case, Despite what anyone says, SS is a VERY hard solo fight, but is CAKE as a duo (preferrably RDM, BLM, or Nin as main attacker, and a WHM as healer). Why so hard solo? Well, unless you have a TON of mp and an easy way of getting them back fast (LOTS of ethers?), you will run out of MP from curing yourself from Fluid Spread - which eats all shadows, and can still do 400-600 dmg, even with phalanx, stoneskin, Protect IV, and Barwater. Theres really no effective way to avoid this - just have a healer on hand to back you up and hope that it doesnt do it much. Also, obviously, he is EXTREMELY resistant to all phsyical attacks, I think at MAX, your attacks will do 10-20% what they normally would on a normal dmg mob, but if you are an RDM, "En" spells do great, since he's very weak to magic.

Anyway, his acc is pretty bad, and doesnt do anything special other than Fluid Spread, so the less melees on him, giving him tp, the better. Bind didnt hold very well at all (a few seconds with 304 enfeebling magic skill), but he seems to take at LEAST 1.5x normal dmg from all magic, maybe more. I KIND OF did this fight solo, but with a little help from a whm - when I pulled him, I was going to pull to the zone, but she was aggrod as I was pulling it, and died before I had even hit SS once. ABotu halfway through the fight, the WHM got up, in weakened state, and cure'd me with what little MP was left, which I greatly appreciated... There wasnt much left of the fight after that - I was running out of MP, but refreshed the WHM, and asked her to Cure V me when I convert - she did so, and I started nuking with my full mp - Thunder III 757 dmg, Blizzard III 694 dmg, and it was over :) Which to ME, was impressive, since I"m elvaan (lowest INT of all races, even lower than galka) and was set up for evasion/tanking, not nuking (No moldavite, INT+, etc). Anyway, I want to say thank you to Talna, the WHM - it was very brave to get up and help while weakened, and I might not have won the fight without her :) The RIng dropped (it's not 100%, but is at least 50%), in what was a very fun but challenging fight.

I dont know how everybody say its an easy fight lol. I solo it as RDM/NIN 75 but was one of the hardest fight I have get. He's real fast so that means shadows drop like flies. I never nuke him so maybe that was my fault, but I was too scare of waste all my MP. I try to keep Enthunder, SS, Utsusemi, Haste, Refresh and Phalanx all the time on me. My enfebs was Paralyze, BioII, PoisonII and Slow. About my MP, I use convert 2 times in the fight ... so yes, the **** has a lot of HP :). Btw i use tacos for food. I found that Burning Blade do decent dmg to him. Well good luck to anyone who try this nm but i recomend to bring one more person or at least a mage to not be stressed about the MP as i was :P

easier as rdm/blm just use magic 5mins or less hes dead, or chainspell drain = almost dead if taru he is dead.

rdm/nin tooweak on him since tp help him pwn you, you were probly just hiting him for 4-5 dmg a hit = long @$$ fight.

I've always seem to kill stuff easier and fast rdm/blm, /nin a burden for me.

NUKE ppl the fight will be easy, melees need to stay home they'll just get you killed from SS tp moves.

Easy kill for 75RDM/BLM, even with a Mousse add. The only real danger came from Sewer Syrup's TP attacks, which would almost always knock my Stoneskin down and deal 200-400 damage. However, Drain hits this thing HARD- it was pulling back 200-300 with each cast, so the TP attacks didn't seem bad at all.

Overall, the Syrup has really poor accuracy (evasion capped) and Paralyze gimps him pretty hard. Enspells will deal about 30% more damage than normal, and so will regular old spells. I did end up having to Convert once, but I'm guessing that's because of the Sleep II's I had to keep throwing down on the extra Mousse that aggro'd at the beginning of the fight. In order to do so, I made sure the Mousse was asleep, and cast Bind on the Syrup, ran out of range, and Converted. Easy!

When it died, I got 12000g, 39exp, two Slime Oils and a Jelly Ring. Not bad...and a lot of fun.

I-11
after falling down the trap door follow the way till H-7, go south from there until u reach G-10. There the way south ends and u can go east or west, go east. In the big cirular room take the south-east exit and follow the way (south until the way makes an east turn and then east). Now u reach a dead end room with 2 ghost type mobs and 1-2 Mousse. The mousse can pop in the way to the room or the room itself. The mousse are the PH and Sewer himself will pop within this room.

On my way to Shii and the Shades i randomly decide to check Sewer (i have the ring already, see some other post). And. . .he's up ! So i decide to have some kraken club fun :P

Mithra rdm75/smn
prot4, Shell4, haste, refresh, aquaveil, phalanx, barwater
haste, enfire, shock spikes, stoneskin
para2, slow, blind

Fight was fun hitting for 1dmg (crit 5) + 28dmg enfire, shock spikes returning 12dmg. Nothing to bothersome except fro once. He double critted my Stoneskin followed by a full fluid spread, dealing 600ish dmg to me (200ish HP left). Apart from that it was just endless whacking. My elv nin friend came by to watch the last few secs. So both of us got 33XP and 6ooogil (both with signet).

Solo'ed as a 75 NIN/37 WAR. Bring the elemental wheel, slap on a bunch of haste gear and evasion gear and go to wheeling him. Takes about 10 minutes still because he has every bit of 10k HP's. Just have to be careful about blood aggro by the 2 Haunts in his spawn room and the roaming Mousse in the hallway that can aggro you. For the last couple of minutes of the fight, I tanked both SS and an add Mousse with just Ni.

I would of subbed a mage job, but WHM 25 is my highest mage job.

My fun Sewer Syrup story
# Feb 16 2007 at 11:45 AM Rating: Decent
First of all I came here soloing the PH mobs as a level 75WHM/NIN and it was just fine even without Utsusemi: Ni which I have yet to purchase or BCNM. The bats don't aggro but the mousse do though I stayed out in the tunnel before the room when I fought them and not in the room by the haunts to avoid blood aggro if it were to happen.

After soloing a couple of the mousse on my own my brother came and assisted me as a 73WHM/RDM and the 2 of us duoed the placeholders with no damage taken from us. After maybe about an hour of killing Mousse the Sewer Syrup popped. We rested to full and buffed up and I pulled it with flash and my brother gravityed it and we drug it further down the tunnel to avoid Mousse repops. At first it was easy if stoneskin and ichi fell off me my brother would flash it so I could get them back up and we pretty much bounced hate back and forth with flash.

After we got it down to half health we started struggling, we were both low on MP a mousse repoped in the tunnel right next to us and we had to move further down. My buffs fell and my brother had no mp to buff himself or flash it off me so he Benedictioned to save me and I rebuffed and flashed it to take hate back. He decided to stick gravity on it and we were going to bring it to the WRon zone. So he did that we ran off ahead and sneaked up and ran to the zone.

When we got to the zone we waited for the syrup to catch up and then stuck another gravity on him and some DoTs and zoned. We rested a little with an occasional zone back in to gravity and DoT to keep it at the zone. Meanwhile I had a 75RDM friend on the way. We rested up and went back in there in started to duo it again by that time it regened a little bit above half and we got it down to a quarter of health and somehow I lost shadows and stoneskin again and started getting hit and then took a harsh Fluid Spread to the face and died and my brother quickly zoned.

Unfortunately he did not gravity and DoT it so it managed to regen itself back to full. My brother came back in and raised me after it passed my body and I got up and my brother gravityed it fast and we both zoned. My RDM friend got back so the 2 of them started to duo it while I rested in WRon until weakness wore and I was full again. The 3 of us took it fine then with no problems and I got my ring.

If you are going to take this NM as WHM it's best if you actually have NI. >< The source of my problems was after ichi fell I couldn't recast it yet and it hits stoneskin off in like 3 hits with it's double attack and hard hits Ni was kind of essential. Also Seraph Strike > Stoneskin for this fight as it is weak to elemental damage and not physical.
Extremely weak to magic

Went to get the Jelly Ring just to have as 75RDM/DRK. Killed placeholders no problem, Syrup spawns. Bind him, usual enfeebles, then after I buff up I decide to use Thunder III. Hits for over 900 damage, and that's without elemental gear or merits. Meleed it down to 30% and just Chainspell nuked him. Lowest dealt damage by spells was Aero III hitting at 750, Fire III being the highest at over 1k damage. Unheard of for me as a RDM/DRK let alone as a RDM/BLM.

Now similarly, I told this story to a PLD friend who assumed "let's just bring a BLM to get mine". Made sense to me. If I'm nuking for 700-1000, god knows what a dedicated BLM could do. So she took a SAM, a NIN, herself (the PLD), and a BLM. Be forewarned. One fourth tier elemental overwrote Invincible. Another overwrote the SAM spamming WS with 2 hour. The BLM barely made it out alive and essentially "tanked" the entire fight.

Moral of the story: Sewer Syrup is one crazy ****.

A pld60/nin24 and me(mnk75/nin37) killed mousse placeholders for over 3 hours before sewer syrup popped. I barely got hit while kiting it to the zone to my surprise. I died the first time I fought him because the pld didn't know what to expect and I started too early. Anyway, while I rested until weakness wore and I had full hp I told the pld to zone back and forth to keep the nm at the zone and rest for 2 ticks each time. Then we swapped while he rested to full. Ok, so we try the fight again and start having trouble at 50% hp but manage to get it down to a sliver of health while a whm and blm friend were coming to help. They come in the nick of time and saved our butts. Later, to get another ring we killed placeholders for over 2 hours and the nm popped. So we do the same thing minus the blm. So it's me, the pld, and whm71. I counterstance, focus, dodge, formless strikes, and hundred fists and quickly get it down to 60% hp. From then on it was slooooowwwww but we were in no danger at all. Took us about 15min total on our second nm and probably over 20min on our first. To sum things up formless strikes was quite useful. And you don't really need to get stressed over kiting it to the zone. If you're not stupid this is a very long but doable fight. Just have your healers stay back from aoe and bring a nuker if you don't wanna go insane. And for the love of God please don't aggro haunts while you kill placeholders. It shouldn't happen unless you're completely brain dead and/or wasted.

Duo'd PLD75/NIN37 + Fellow NPC Soothing Healer 65

Not an especially "hard" battle, just long... very... long (10K HP ;O)

1/1 Ring, 1/2 on killing the NM (tried at first PLD/RDM, but he eats Stoneskin too fast)

Solo at lvl 70 thf/nin! long, fun, "bloody" bolt battle!

went to go help my PLD friend <Deeps> get jelly ring. set up was:

70-69 PLD Deeps
72 WAR Legolus
70 THF <me>!

so....first off...PLD does not tank this nearly as good as thf. Both the PLD and the WAR died within 2 min of the fight. I thought i was doomed...Sewer soup takes almost no damage from mele. i popped a Sole Sushi in my mouth and spamed bloody bolts! about 100 hp drain per bolt. once i reached full hp i would let the NM hit me down to about 700 HP. The only scary part was from a Fluid Spread that did about 650dmg when i had about 700hp. with shadows, blind bolts, and bloody bolts i was able reach full hp with just a few (10) bloody bolts. i have 210 evasion (when i started) with + 30 evasion equipment on i could keep up utsusmi ichi up for about a min + . i finished the fight with 214 evasion!

WS of choice...Gust Slash! did about 100 dmg at 100% tp...DE and SB did about 90 @ 300%

about 30 sec after i finished the fight and the pld and war RRed and PLD got ring...my sushi wore off. about a 30 min fight. 120 bloody bolts and about 30 acid and blind.

Omg this thing is easy yet annoying!!!! Set up is 75MNK, 75 DRK, 75 WHM, 70 BSt, and me 63 PLD. The drk falls in a trap and whm has to find him and escape. Well bst brings a haunt while wmh and drk is away, so bst, mnk, and i are trying to get haunt out of the way. Well what do ya know......the SS pops while we fight are fighting the haunt, so the bst and mnk start to fight the SS while i try to finish off the haunt. Well haunt is outa the way and were fighting SS, and i forgot to mention we are all cursed. Well Mnk dies and then i die, and the bst charms a mouse and has it fight the SS. Well he does that for about 30 min straight the whm and drk are in the zone, well the dumbass drk falls yet again (de de deeee) and the whm helps the bst alittle and then the whm dies. Well the mnk gets an idea to HP and then post warp back. Well the bst keeps the SS busy with the mouse until the mnk gets back. Well lucky for us the mnk ran into the drk and had him follow him and when they got there it was pretty easy from then on. The whm used rr3 and then cast r3 on me and then yes i get JELLY RING! so yeah its all about that BST!!!! thanks to Gatsa the 70 BST!!!!

Too Weak.. soloed as 68NIN/34BLM.
First time i go down and there is a rdm/nin killing a mousse. I look round the corner and see SS pop. I claim, after been told the bats didnt agro (ls member didnt take into account that I was only 68). I mijin, and head back.

By this time the rdm and SS are long gone. So i spend 3 hours just killing the mousses and bats around his spawn area. Eventually I get unlucky and agro a haunt while trying to avoid bat agro during a fight with a mousse. So i train everything to the zone using my AF feet (nighttime ftw). I sneak up and head back down to find SS up. I bio him and run to the zone again. Run back in, manage to get him to the zone without any agro.

The fight was pretty easy. Enfeebling ninjutsu stuck with ease. I just wore my normal eva setup, SH+1, evasion torue, empress hairpin, elusive/velcoity earring. Engaged him and turned round so I wasnt giving him insane amounts of tp with weak physical attacks. My elemental Ni's were doing around 180 each (gogo taru with /blm). His accuracy sucks, he got a lucky hit in once when i mistimed ichi, hit me for around 130. Ten minutes later, after repeating the elemental wheel several times and I have a nice jelly ring.

Yesterday I saw some guys kill this NM. I marked TOD and I came down there 2 hour later. after two PH kills (30 min~) NM pops after 45 mins (third). Unfortunatly I forgot to refresh myself and died when I got it to 40% trying to escape to west ronfaure.

Today I camped it for 10 hours straight, no pop and I gave up.

Going for it another day.

I was doing supply quests today in San d'Oria. After I did my first supply quest I decided to go to Bostaunieux Oubliette (since you have to wait 1 vana day before doing another supply quest) to see if this was up.

To my luck, it was! Just standing there waiting to be pulled. The area wasn't safe though, so I gravity'd it and casted Sneak on my self and ran to an area with Dark Aspis (sp?) and Werebats (since they don't aggro lv75s).
I couldn't circle around to avoid it, so whenever I had to pass it (since I had to go up and down) I equipped Earth Staff to lessen physical damage.

I tried to sleep II it, but it resisted. I didn't bother trying to sleep it again because I figured it wasn't sleepable.
So I bound it (it is bindable =]) and started to nuke with Blizz3 and Thund3.

After awhile I started to run out of MP (after I converted) and gravity only stuck for about a second (but bind stuck for the same amount of time). So I decided to DoT it.
Poison II > Bio II > Drown
This worked great. I decided to stick with this until convert was up again (Since I only had 200 MP). Once it was up again, I used it, Cure IV'd myself 2 times, then Blizz3 and Thund3 it to finish it off.

12000gil and Jelly Ring.

I would have to say this fight is super easy! Just keep it bound and it's no problem.

75RDM/37BLM
Make sure to keep haste on all the time, as it helps Bind recast time ALOT.
I also had a vermillion cloak on at all times, +4 MP per tick is great.

This damn thing has killed me twice and has made me hate Jelly forever.
1st time we had 3 Level 75 BLMs, a 75 BST, and me a 63 PLD. Killing Mousse's for about 30 mins so the Mages MP is just less than around half full. Then the BST decided to pull >.<
It hits the BSTs CourierCarrier for a bit and then BLM uses Flare, I get the hate back and then it kills me, and eventually the BLMs, BST is dying and then the CourierCarrier gets aggro for a bit and thinks start to kind of look up, until the 2nd time the Carrier is killed and BST has around 130 HP left, while Sewer Syrup is on about 23%. BST gets killed and then we are all left dead.

Good luck to those who are trying to get a Jelly Ring
It spawns usually around (I-ll) which is a small room. Place Holders are the Mousse's nearby, one spanws in the room and the other 3 spawn down the 2 corridors.

I've been out there camping 3 times now and every single time I'm there, the spawn is longer than 3 hours. Its really stupid BS. ; ; The hardest part is getting people to come out to spend time camping--that works with my time frame of playtime.

Just for clarification, this spawn is NOT limited to a time-frame. You can go 4, 5, 6 hours with no spawn. It is 100% completely a lottery spawn off the mousse. If you're really unlucky like i've been its just horrible.
