I just camped the Outer Ruins for ... 5 hours. I didn't even see an NM!
I killed every balloon that popped every 8 minutes. (Widescan + Flee + Steal)
I was talking to some friends who were also camping at that time. They had not seen their NM during that period either. (Emperor, Geyser Lizard and Leaping Lizzy)
You think they block NM pops during certain hours? or am I just really unlucky?
Time was 8am-1pm EST Wednesday July 28th
Earthday, Waterday, Windsday, Iceday, Lightningday

I finally got around to camping these guys. I went down there, and within a few minutes, doppleganger gog pops on my widescan. So I run over to him, and there he was just staring at me. I whip out my great axe and start pounding away at him. Finally beat him with only like 70 HP left. No drop though just a stinking tree root. Then I party with a BLM/THF who was also camping these guys. A balloon spawns, so we kill it. Then a doppleganger dio pops. We run over to it, kill it, but again no drop, only a tree root.
So after about an hour of only balloon pops, a bomb king finally spawns. We run over to it and started to kill it. That thing had like really high defense for being on lv 16. We got it down to very little HP when it blew up on us. After it blew up, we got the ring! We let the ring randomize. So after a few minutes, I get it.
After about a half hour of balloon pops, another king spawns. We goto it and kill it, but no ring.
After about another half hours, another one pops. It blew up when it still had like 3/4 of its HP up. Again no ring.
Then I had to go since it was getting late and I was pretty tired, so I head back to windy to see how much I could get from it. The price ranged from 15k-20k. I put it up for 18k. I told the guy that we would split the money from it. It sold this morning for 18k, so I sent the guy 9k.
In between each of the spawnings, we would train just about every cardian in there, and then he would use a -aga spell to kill them all. It was pretty cool watching all them cards die.

Today my friend tercan camped bomb king for 7 hours and no spawn, wtf is going on?

I camped these NMs for about an hour today. During that time I saw no Bomb Kings and 2 Doppleganger Dios. I killed about 11 balloons. The first Dio I saw I got beat to by a RNG and he didn't get the drop. The second Dio was all mine. I killed him and got a Revival Tree Root :p but I did kill him so thats always cool ^^.
Self-Destruct hurts! >_<

Camped him for 2 hrs. fought twice got ring once. Did not self destruct on me. I owned him at lvl 25

these are my fav NMs to camp i dont remember the exact drop rate on some of these for me but they are close to this:
bomb king: 3/5
dio: 2/11
gog: 1/3
i have also seen killed/killed about 50 balloons while camping these and got a boomerang from the very first one i killed lol

ok, i love this nm, mainly cuz he was so good to me. ok, so i dont know windy that well, so im just exploring random dunguens, and im running in these room killing those damn jar jar robots, that drop cards (wich i still have no idea what they do) and i see mr. bomb king sitting in a room! so i start to atack, asuming my rdm21 can take it, he self destructs half way through, i stay alive, and get bomb ash and the ring!! so then my ranger friend comes down to help me hunt again. once he gets there we are runnign around with, now people camping, but he sees it on his gps ranger system, and we go to kill it. he self destructs, and does 400 dmg!! to my friend, almost killing him.....that time, no drop.

when i was about to go go sleep around 3am i decided to explore this place cause i barely went here, just wanted to check it out and just look around then opened up a door then BAMM! bomb king... i was lvling up my GS skill i was using a new GS ice brand about 2 hits its dead, got me the ring and ash. first time killing it so 1/0 and easy as hell 15k (sandy AH price, still have to check jeuno, Midgardsormr server) still need crap load of money for armor upgrade at lvl 40 ^_^

i camped the bomb king at lvl 30 and when i was just about to kill him he self-destruct and it took 155 of my hit points away! and i got no drop but i got bomb ash which sux!

I camped the Bomb King for 7-8 hours with a party... maybe more, and we only saw it one time... we did get a drop, and i got the ring. ^_^ We also killed the Doppleganger Dio too... but that was all we saw the whole time... I dont understand why we only saw it one time though... We are supposed to kill the ballon's when they spawn? right?
BTW, I killed both of these NM's... they were easy for me.

i seem to only get bomb ash ><! i want ring whats the spawn time for the 3 seems like almost an hr...oh and i love making trains of cards ^^ fun as hell

spent a day camping here on and off. Here are the results:
Always kill the ballon. It seems that King is a random spawn of balloon. Ask me if its worth camping? No, expect the ash or arm. Although the one time I got the ring it was when I defeated it, not the self-destruct. I don't think it's really matters, but worth noting. Killed Gog and Dio. Mostly a revival root and sometimes a cruel weapon. Worth camping. Three rooms, four monsters to look for. Thief is good (save time on opening doors) Ranger owns (widescan from steps in center of zone. Happy hunting!

*edit* Okay I should be mad, but I laughed...I was heading to Windy area to check out Spispi and the Bomb King and was curently Blm17/whm8. Bomb King was already there without having to kill a balloon first. Needless to say, he thwapped me into running away to the zone. :P SO...I decided to come back as 27Whm/13blm thinking I'd completely own him. I started having a good time beating the hell outta him with my Warhammer until he Self-Destructed on me for 333 DAMAGE!
OMG WTF!? haha He's Self-Destructed on me before, but for no where near that kinda damage. Kinda funny, kinda not. I laughed anyhow. :P
Okay somebody tipped me off that which is the Bomb King and Dopple's spawn. We camped it for maybe 6 tries. We got the bomb king second try and got the ring. Mind you he's an upper level with thief subbed at 15 while I'm a 25whm/13blm.
After the sixth try of no more bomb king, only the balloons, and one Gog he gave up for the night. I decided to try on my own and got the bomb king after 4-5 tries with the normal wait 10 minutes camp. Punk Bomb King only dropped Ash and he actaully self destructed that time. The next day I try again. Just balloons after another, and I'm getting a lil bummed. So I walk outside and come back and low and behold it's the bomb king. Yippee! Not...I actually did kill him this time without him self destructing and he only left an Arm and Ash. :/
Eh, maybe next time.
Maybe you need a few kills on the king for him to drop or maybe bad luck cause I'm a whm. I dunno. I've been playing this game for only a month on PS2. I'm a broke mage and trying to get money with out bothering people. I pride myself in never have asked for gil or anything from somebody else in the game for that matter. :)

Ok I have seen Many Posts on Spawn Time for the Dopplegangers and King and I know that after 12 hour of hunting these that other than you know that theres only 3 places its gonna spawn you still got to Deal with the place holder Lottery if your Camping in the Tower I have also Noticed that the Game seems to Spite you if you camp in the Tower, so I cam out with my Own Method of Hunting I normally go in Kill a ballon or one of the NM Spawns then Leave the Tower and go back after an hour in RT and take the Right Southern Stone Dorr and theres always A NM waiting Normally Dio But who cares I get an hour to Farm the Kill it and go back to Farming now if only my 6 SCythes would sell :( BTW I am 6 outta 8 On Dio and 0 for 4 on King still yet to See Gog but oh Well I am a WHM don't matter to me and the real amazing thing is I have only been hunting these 3 for 4 days off and on :)

The bomb king IS in the Outer Horutoru ruins in the most northern part of East Sarutabaruta and it has a chance of spawning along with the Dopplegangers or balloons around every 8 minutes or so. It helps a hell load to have a Ranger sub so u dont have to check the Doors like mad every second

i get bomb king all the time, i got the bomb ring 2 times. But never seen a scythe or Spear from it, neither do anyone elsei know that has camped bomb king, The Doppelgangers drop the cruel weapons not bomb king.
Doppelgangers will only spawn in the west corridor if a balloon as been killed in that room. That trick helps get more chance of a doppelganger spawn, it's a 8-10 minute wait for the doppelganger to spawn. Thank god to hanging around **** :)

this sight isnt as helpful as it may seem. Try your best dont listen to these peole they make the game seem harder then it really is. dont stress yourself out if it doesent work out. Try again later some other time. And if you like making money by AH there are better ways. Again dont stress.
