Just solod 75THF/NIN, never got hit and only recasted Ni 3 times. Got Tungi on first drop too ^^ 1/1

I just solo'd him as a 72 MNK/NIN. I also had my healer NPC with me. I also had about +30 evasion. I'm also a galka so I had about 1700 hp for this fight.
If I did not have nin subbed I would have died. If I was not a galka, I would have died (ended the fight with 200 hp). If I did not have my healer NPC, I would have died. If I was not wearing resetsu hakima, I would have died because he wouldnt have got paralyzed from hitting me.
This is what I did. I got 200% tp before the fight. I spawned him and melee'd him down to about 50% while keeping my shadows up. He only hit me twice before 50%. Then, I used dodge, focus, and hundred fists. Spamed asuran fists on him. He was dead before hundred fists wore off. I had about 200 hp when he died.
If I waited til my mnk was 74...this would have been easier with utsusemi: ni.
Good luck to anyone else who tries to solo him.

This is my boredom killing buddy. Solo or in group killed 22x drops: 8 Tungi, 4 adaman ore, lot of mythril and darksteel ore, pauldron, dark crystal. Easy to solo with shadow just remember your echo drops.

ATTAINING THE ANTICAN TAG via THE ??? - IT WON'T GIVE IT TO ME!
OK; so i've gone into the correct location in Quicksand caves and have found the ??? twice now. When i click it; i dont get an Antigan Tag; i get a "you see some old tablet ruins" msg. <My inventory is not full at the time and i dont already have a Tag sitting in my mog house.>
What am i doing wrong? I know theres no fame or quest pre-requisites so i just dont know what the deal is...

Ok so appearantly if you have the Rabao quest active that asks you to go check out a ??? in Kuftul Tunnel with a party; u won't get antican tag when u click on it. That SUuuuCKS.... grrrr

The problem is you're examining the ??? for the tele-Altep scroll quest. The Antican tag is in a similar area, just keep looking.

First 2 times had TH1 and my uber nin friend helping (Goo Virii!). Dropped various ores, no Tungi. After getting tag #3, I warped to jeuno and decided to shout for a high lvl THF to bring their TH influence. Duno if it was TH2 or the 3rd-time-charm, but got Tungi.
I highly suggest recruiting a high lvl THF/nin to come kill this thing for you. Just buy them some echo drops and tell them they can get all other drops including adaman ores, that tends to seal their assistance.
Couple notes : The ??? for the tag does NOT respawn instantly. Im sure of it. It's more of a 2 hour respawn. Think of the tag as the NM, rather than the antican. If youre facing competition it's like mental torture cuz you have no idea if the other guy got it and you're wasting your time still looking for it.
This NM is prety unimpressive vs a 70+ nin or /nin. No need for a party of 70's, hes {too weak}.

Sabo pulled him to zone when there was no one there and pet swapped him to death with the 3 helm beetles there.
Pretty simple fight-he was doing circa 200 a hit to the beetles (who were DC at 60) while taking circa 30 dmg in return. Just kept blink and stoneskin up and was fine.

As far as nm's go Eastern sphinx at 60 is harder imo. What makes tribunus nasty is the area you have to fight him in.

I don't see how they can monopolize him since he's a forced spawn.

When one person uses a tag and they kill the NM, they send the player that used the tag to go find another while they spam trying to pop it again. Cause I think there is a little time in between before you can spawn him again like the dark spark. They take the Ores to sell toss the axe and repeat the process. That's how I see it working anyhow.

I went as 60 WAR / 16 THF, In an alliance I had 2 PLD's, a BLM, RDM, MNK, WAR, and another mage. But most importantly a 63 THF.
I find that Treasure Hunter 1 and 2 does help. Being 1/1 is very very very lucky. So I do recommend having a THF.

I find that Treasure Hunter 1 and 2 does help. Being 1/1 is very very very lucky. So I do recommend having a THF.

i frequently pop him while farming and campin centurio, loxley bow, and save the queen nms. he's soloable as a 75 pld but its a long fight. mainly because he has a lot of hp, but hes not too dangerous unless the princeps pops while your killing him. soloable as /war and /nin but i brought yagudo drinks and used staff as /war.
he recently seems to be dropping adamen ore more frequently and tungi slightly less but i could be wrong.

Is there a pop item for this NM? if so what is it and were can i get it cause i need this axe in two levels and i already got fransica for free at 55 from some crazy *** level 75's blms
My damage count is just a little off because I resummoned a few times (i.e. when running away to resummon, won't see melee damage out of range)
Used Fenrir + 5x Eclipse Bite (991-1231 damage four times, one pathetic 237 damage one)
Total logged damage: 9489 (estimating 10k hp total)
XP received: 36
Gil received: 6000
Drops: 2xIron Ore, Antican Pauldron, Mythril Ore, Dark Crystal (no Tungi >_<)

The tag.......
This has been the bane of my evening, i finally camped at the H-8 spot but there are 2+ levels!!! You must drop down through the quicksand hole, go to the end of the corridoor, take the final left tunnel to the large room. This is where mr Centy antican pops.
There were 2 people killing the anticans and it just so happens 1 of them had already got the tag a while earlier. He didn't want it but couldn't trade it to me so i offered hm 50k to spawn the NM for me. He wanted to but his HNM ls didn't allow it cos it meant leaving the site he was camping.
Just shows that even with the people who want to help theres always someone out there to **** it up.

i was helpin friend with centurio X I when the ??? popped so i hit it and i brought him with me to the spawn area for this, so i had him gravity it and we pulled it to the zoned and i kited w/ carbuncle, pretty easy fight, no tungi, but darksteel ores, iron ores, and pauldrons :)

Fought five times yesterday trying to get Tungi.
Fight 1-3 setup: 57 nin/war (me), 62 drg/rdm, 62 brd/whm.
Fight 4 setup: Duo'd with 57 nin and 62 brd.
Fight 5 we had a 58 thf come, got Tungi drop.
Overall a simple fight, I only dropped passed yellow on one fight. Also got two adaman ores in the five fights. Mighty Strikes never touched anyone.

there 3 ??? spawn points that i got the tag from it,

first spwan point you go from east altep K-7 entrance. the spwan point is @G-10. a big room where you pop S.Cloak NM.
second and third spwan point you go from east altep H-10 entrance.
spwan point @E-11 you need to look behind the rock, it hide in the back, so when you frist enter the room you can't target it, yet don't drop down to the quicksand.
the other one is @M-9 where you need to drop to edge of quick sand but not drop though it. it's on the north edge of quick sand.
those 3point are so far i can confirmed, there might be more, idk ;r

Resists Sleep thorougly, not to mention a 1243 Thunder IV only knocked out 8% of his HP, and it broke through Stoneskin/Phalanx at capped enhancing skill with one hit.

I just soloed this guy as 74 brd/nin. Some people say hes SO EASY. Well he is but he isnt. I mean I took a few hits. Nothing paeon IV and V couldnt handle between blinks. With carnage elegy, hes slow enough that you can cas utsusemi ichi in between his attacks with time to spare. Unfortunately hes not sleepable. Usually I can solo anything I can lullaby. He didnt do jamming wave until he was at 1% but beware. Bring drops just incase. No tungi. Darksteel ore, mythril ore, 2x iron ore, dark cystal, and Antican pauldron.

We set up WAY over kill on this guy and we had a 62 pld tank, a 62 blm, a 62 whm, a 62 rdm(me), and a 62 war(my b/f), and thats it. He was cake, and went down in under 60 seconds. Oh, btw, He never even got off Mighty Strikes.. >.>;; Thats one for us Valefor people. We got the drop too..

Second setup was with 61 Nin/War and 40 Pld/Whm. We pulled the NM back to the zone so we didn't have to worry about the princeps repop, and then proceeded to whoop on it. Pld acted as a whm and flash *****, while I just tanked and hit the mob. Any Ninja 60+ could tank this guys easily. Only thing you need is a healer for its Magnetite attack and any stray hits between utsusemi.
I never got hit by Mighty Strikes, but his normal attacks did 150-250 on me, so hes pretty tough. Just don't get hit and you're good :D.

Me and my WHM (75WHM/37RDM or 37NIN) friend have fought this guy a lot of times (she kick *** at tanking as WHM worship her lol), she'd sub RDM before she got her NIN up some more for Ni so we could basically duo this guy, but most of the times we had another member with us. I'd come as THF(61) to help with the drops, and we've had a farily decent drop rate, bout half no drop half drop. If you do come to fight and rely on magic please remember echo drops, saves your lives! We've gotten bout 1 adaman ore out of all the tiems we fought as well and if you're THF Mug him! 2000+ Gil to be mugged there. Even if no one wants a Tungi it's still a fun NM to pop and fight, so we usually grab the Antician Tag anytime we see a ??? running through the caves to fight for fun and see if anyone might want Tungi.
And as for the Tungi's hidden effects, can confirm that you need WAR main or sub for it to work. No Double Attacks for RNG/NIN /cry.
