I've fought him four times in the last week trying to get the Exocets for myself and a friend. Not once did he use Hundred Fists. He has a crap ton of HP though. It took me about seven minutes to put him down as 75Pld/37Nin. 2/4 on Exocets.

I'm pretty sure, on the account that I've fought this nm 5+ times, that it has never used Hundred Fists. I don't believe it uses it, that or I'm just really lucky. It having a monk's HP pool pretty much means you can't really kill it too fast for it to use it.
I don't want to sound like a showoff, but this mob is really easy to beat the puss out of. As a 74 DRK, it took about 5 mins to tear through him, but it was a boring fight. He hit me for about 100HP damage total throughout the fight, his accurracy is pretty poor. He dropped Exocets(mine) and a Bastore Sardine. So for those of you looking to get a set of these, I'd have to say bring a 65+ to guarentee victory.
I will say one word of caustion though, prepare for links if you haven't cleared the entire area(I completely slaughtered this region). He pops right in the middle of it all. He also has a ton of HP, after parsing his HP, it was very close to 5K HP, I Guillotined him 4 times(twice I missed 2-4 hits in the WS). Good Luck and happy hunting!

First two times I fought him, he spawned after one placeholder, with me visiting when I woke up, and before I went to sleep for the night.
Next day, same routine, but took an hour or so to spawn. After the fourth kill, I decided to just solo for a while, and see how long it took for him to respawn. About... Two and a half hours later, he showed up again... And finally dropped the weapons.
Ultimately, he's a bit of a wuss. He hits for squat, and his accuracy isn't that great. The only thing that makes him annoying to take down are possible links and him having a Monk's HP pool.
On that note... HP seems to be somewhere around 7600-7800.

Camped this SOB for about 6 hours once, no pop, logged out. Came back later that night, camped another hour or two, it shows up, I claim, get linked, barely kill them all. No drop. Go figure.
I go back today, months later, and camp for about 45 minutes before he shows up, gets his ass fed to him w/ extreme prejudice, and gives me my 'Cets.

I will admit it was a pain for me to find the spot, but once I got to it killed one brook Sahagin and then it popped, took about 10 mins to kill, got a link from a rivulet, but I got the drop. I thought it was going to take hours to get it with the luck I have with NM's

yea... fought this guy today. waited about 1 hour or so, killing sahagins there as well.. I was 69rdm/bst{Fun}... well, i charmed Sea Bonze too, to help me fight this guy..... it was a cake. his hits are weak. No drop on H2H. I want it for my mnk and its at 45 :D. The position for this guy is J-10 pass through the silver door... good luck hunting
anyone know the position of Qull?
i would realy liketo hunt him down for a pair of these for my MNK since im taking that to 70 next after SAM hits 75 :P

Logged in on top of this guy a few minutes ago, and he linked up with another Sahagin standing nearby. I had to burn through my 2HR, but I was able to take both him and the link down with about 50% health when all was said and done. No drop, but that's alright... I just wanted my SSG map, which I did get shortly after this ordeal, hah.

I wouldn't take this guy too lightly like I did. I only stumbled across him trying to pop a chest.
69WAR/SAM started out at between 1/2 and 2/3 hp and only got the thing down to just under half it's HP before I had to warp out. [222/1530] Would have been easier but another Sahagin linked and started buffing Qull with Haste and whatnot. [kill the links for god's sake!] He had pretty good defense [crits for around 220] and accuracy [rarely missed me with 208+9 evasion] so I wouldn't say this guy screws around.
No one was camping it at all so it was probably standing around for awhile being buffed by the other mobs, and I might have taken it down with full HP, but I do have to admit he schooled my ass this time. -_-

this guy also drops a bastore sardine lol
ok just killed it and a link (rivulet) and i counted up all my hits to it and the total was 8,245 hp, but i am guessing it has 8,200 hp since my last hit was for 65 then a 60, i did this as a 59 MNK

I camped this guy for about six hours last night and two hours this morning. I killed him twice and got the claws this morning. I memorized every sahagin spawn in the area and had it down to the point where i knew which job was going to pop next and where it would pop. Theres two brds, two drgs, and three whms that pop in the T intersection's general area. Qull popped in place of a brook sahagin (blue DRG type) every time. However, he may just be a lottery among the sahagins in the area and just happened to take a DRG sahagins place both times. I dont know about that but I can tell you he is a lottery pop and is not a timed pop. After I killed him both times, only one drg popped in the set of sahagins that he spawned in and he spawned when one of them was supposed to.
So, if you want him to pop, just keep killing the sahagins but memorize the order you kill them in because he's most likely going to pop in place of a brook sahagin (blue dragoon type).
EDIT: Also, I got 24 exp off him both times as a 62 MNK. According to mysterytours exp charts, that means hes about level 52-53. He didn't hundred fists....but I did....and he was only down to 3/4 HP after I was done >.< and my raging fists did about 700 damage and was barely noticable on his HP bar. This guy has tons of HP but doesnt even hit as hard as his placeholders. Be prepared for a long fight.

This NM pops for me anything from 2-3.5 hours from its death time. So far killed it 3 times, no Exocets yet. 3x fighting it, never seen Hundred Fists once.

In about 15 hours camping it, I have stolen about 39 Mythril Beastcoins, got Eastern Gems, Regen II scrolls, a Pearl, Mug for gil, gil from kills, bunch of other junk.... made about $125,000. So even thou its rare/excl weapons, can still make some decent cash.

I ran into this guy last night while looking for a chest for that Bastok quest, as I was trading key to quest I noticed I had aggro, which surprised me (at 71 none of the regular Sahagin are that stupid). So I slept the links and whacked this guy... pretty easy as 70+ RDM. Took maybe 10-15 min, mainly b/c I was draining MP into keeping 2 links asleep.
He dropped 3600 gil and a Bastore Sardine. Should have just warped...

Fought this guy a few times with 1 LS friend each time as 55NIN, w/ 51RDM another time with 51THF. Never was in danger, just gotta keep the area clear, and being the Monk type he has a ton of HP. Still haven't gotten the drop >.< I will sooner or later, right now my monk is sitting idle at level 46. I got a video if your interested in watching, it's a pretty large file (34MB, windows media video), hope you enjoy ^_~

I know my MNK friend camped this guy for days....and I don't remember him ever getting the drop until he was 55+ or so :/
I was really lucky when I did get them...
It all started I was working on Mermaid Ring quest, I find a lost 38WHM she needs to get to Norg; I show her the way. At Norg I meet her other WHM friend, also 38; and he wants a guide to Utsusemi's ???, well it'll only be the 50th time doing it so what the hey ^^
After passing through the Silver door, when we get to the upper area...I saw text fly on my screen and thought to myself, "orz he let sneak drop..." but it was actually Qull that aggro'd me o.O
We had a few links while fighting, was dangerous because 2 hits from a pugil/sahagin/whatever would kill this WHM ;-; I was 60 at the time, but when I first got there my hp was @50%.
The fight took 19 or so minutes o.o but to my glory, there it was, the Exocets. They suck compared to my Tact.Magi.Hooks+1 but damn are they sexy XD

Wow! And can even count how many times i've helped people with the Utsusemi quest. I'm glad you lived through that battle, or should I say battles' cause if you didn't kill him and get the drop the next person along would have >.< I envy you, I love the way these things look, and they'd be perfect for my 46 MNK ^_^

A 61 PLD and I (58 WHM) were wandering around SSG for both a treasure chest and the NIN scroll Utsusemi Ichi for the PLD when we ran into this guy.
This was THE longest fight EVER. EVER. WHM and PLD do NOT make impressive DD LOL. He wasn't hitting hard, he hit me for 14 DMG each hit and the PLD for less. One word for caution, this guy seems to switch aggro somehow with his Hydroblast technique. The PLD was flashing, voking, and doing MUCH more damage than I, but time after time, he'd turn to me after doing said attack.
His HP is ridiculous high, but it's not a surprise for a MNK. We got the weapon drop, which I'm hoarding in my inventory until my MNK hits 46. Talk about incentive to raise my melee! I'm wondering if this works well for THF/MNK actually...

According to a 69 PLD friend i was duoing the eyes there with when a sahagin uses Hydro Shot it lowers that person enmity by at least 30..
i have to say i agree with him too, as i would get hate unbelievably easy from him vokeing, flashing, cureing himself etc. just with my normal melee attacks!
Anyway, hope this helps~

Yeah, this guy definitely has a ton of HP. I ran into him not knowing what he dropped and decided to take him out. I couldnt get a clear pull and he linked a Rivulet Sahagin. I just kept the add asleep, and used Aspir on it every time it was up, eventually draining the things entire MP pool while Qull whiffed away or hit for like 10 dmg. Did it as 75BLM/37RDM, dropped the knuckles and pantam kelp.
Spawned him last night for ***** and giggles. Used ShellBuster and 2 houred. Got an add about 3/4 through the fight. With me hitting for 50 and Shellbuster hitting for 100-120 the fight took 8 minutes...
Ton of HP is an understatement. It's insane. Pet has 75% HP left. He doesn't hit hard at all.
No drop. :(
And it didn't use Hundred Fists...

Finally popped right as I was about to fall asleep and mash my face into my keyboard. Just 2hr'd for the hell of it and unfortunately I received a bloody piece of Pamtam Kelp. Not sure if he has any definite pop timer but this sure reminded me of the Argus camp in one way, it was quite boring. Received title: Bearer of the Wiseman's Hopes after this battle (Could have been mistaken on exact word for word def.). Overall a big disappointment to me, besides the fact that some JP missed the NM by a few seconds >:). Took 9 hours to spawn.

Last week I camped this guy for about 9 consecutive hours, and didn't even see him pop once, and yes, I was killing Sahagin in the area.

ok, me <50THF/25NIN> and a <65PLD/32THF> jus duoed this guy, he has major HP and spawns in (J-10) took us about 10 min to kill
it's a timed spawn, not sure how long though
dropped 2756 Gil which i assume was split 2 ways, 1 Quues, and 1 pair of Exocets
during the fight i mugged for 611 gil
it was fun ^_^

He spawns in the side hallway on the way to the utsusemi: ichi room. I took him out as a 72rdm/blm. With phalanx he hit me for 0 for about a 10 minutes. He does have a ton of HP but is very weak. Fire III nukes for 600 damage barley moved his HP bar.

I camped him yesterday... I'm not sure if he has a PH, a "pop window" or is simply lottery. I think after 4 hours he popped in that "dead-end hallway" along with another sahagin. I was killing all the Sahagin singly, so having two spawn at the same time has me a bit confused.
I'd treat him like a lottery pop, though. Just kill all the Sahagin in the immediate area at the "T" intersection until he spawns.
He hits for very little, spammed Spinning Fin and used Hundred Fists.

Fought him several times today, got 21 XP as a level 62 Monk. Would estimate his level to be around 50. Didn't use Hundred Fists once though I had to when a Rivulet Sahagin linked.

He agroed me as a 62 thf/whm, i brought him into that hallway to avoid links. Beat him without using my 2 hour and he dropped pamtam kelp and 5k+ gil. I also mugged him for 3k. He didn't use Hundred Fists either, but he does have a ton of hp, took quite a while to kill him. He spawned at the entrance of that first dead end hallway that a chest can spawn at the end of.

Where does he spawn? The maps on Mysterytour doesent show him :/
I was in the grotto last night with a friend killing Brook Sahagins for quest items and I ended up attacking this thing by total accident (I was tired and was going after anything blue colored).
Right, so 62war and 61pld. Hit it immediately with Raging Rush ~500dmg. HP bar moves about 2 pixels. As this point, we got scared. The we realized he was hitting us for ~8-10dmg per hit. Never saw him use any 'Sagagin job abilities' (like spinning fin) or any 2hr abilities. 5-6 sets of TP later, stupid thing finally dies. Probably ~10,000hp with moderate defense, but low low attack. It's like this NM is here just to get the others in the area to link, hah. Always funny when a NM hits you for less than his friends surrounding him.
Oh, and based on exp given... I'd say ~lvl56-57.

Maps of Sea Serpent Grotto
Fought him two nights ago, 62MNK, 55THF, and 55 WHM. Only hard part about the fight was the other sahagin link and the pugil link we got at the beginning of the fight. Dropped Exocets, pantam kelp, and we each picked up 1860 gil and 9 exp. The claws really aren't that great, but it's fun to have the blue things around. =)

doesnt take much to be better than AF... lol
I fought this lastnight. After defeating him I received 14 exp, a quus (not listed as drop) and 5414 gil. Was Lv 66 at the time so I think you can estimate the level from that.
