Info on the 3 NM ghosts in gusgen mines

This mob also drops revival root, and likely luminicloth as well. Since the other 2 nm in gusgen have had confirmed drops of all the items except the rings, and this one with luminicloth, it only seems logical.

All three of the Notorious Monster ghosts in Gusgen mines pop a few seconds after 2:00, and disappear at 6:00 if one is not claimed by anybody. The sirens go off sometime between 0:00 and 2:00. They are definitely not worth it if you are looking for gil. A bonus is the guaranteed(or really good) drop rate of the cotton cloths.

I recently have been killing these things, but not for the gil. I killed them as PLD48/BLM19(for warp, blaze spikes is nice as well), and had enough time to rest and kill 2 different ghosts a night, most of the time. I get 12-18 exp a kill at lv 48.All the rings sell for 1-2k on siren, 1.2k to NPC's. So here's what I have. Please note I did not have my signet on for all the kills

Wounded Wurfel~
Malflash Ring- 0/12
Cotton Cloth- 11/12
Revival Root- 2/12
Ice Crystal- 1/12
Luminicloth- 1/12

Burned Bergmann~
Malflame Ring- 1/4
Cotton Cloth- 4/4
Revival Root- 1/4

Asphyxiated Amsel~
Malgust Ring- 1/2
Cotton Cloth- 2/2

BTW~ since they are nm, they are somewhat stronger than normal mobs at that level. All NM are that way, especially HNM and arcane types.

Yup, he is definitely higher than the level here....

I got raped as 45 rdm!! ; ;

I did get him down to about a quarter hp, but even tryin to keep stonekin/blink up, and having fully buffed up before I engaged in the fight, and used convert...still got whooped!?

Asked LS what lvl before I took him on, and they said 36-38 ><
Thought it would be a fairly easy fight, but not so...

Even if I was going to beat him...it was a long fight =(

I am lvl 50 now, so I'll go back and kick his *** this time!

Well, good testimony should give us tips to solving our problems in the game to make thing better or more fun.

I see everybody bragging about incounters and that, I encountered the NM also and everyone now knows it appear after the horn blows at (F-7, J-7 & J-9... second map).

I'd like new information about drop rates and stuff... what lvl to attack the undead or any NM for that matter. I wish I had a testimony that was funny to tell. Sry, but I dont. :(

um... when you look at what he wrote it is actualy quite useful...think about it he got beat as 45 meaning don't attack it as a 45-.....and maybe you should follow your own rule and dont post stuff that means nothing like your last post

I was farming in Gusgen today, and this guy was one **** of a fight. Of course I had nothing on but my mining gear, so this was a fun fight ^^

Make sure to keep him Silenced, especially as a mage, because his Aspir can take 30-60 MP. I'm pretty sure that the ring is a 100% drop, not worth much, but nonetheless a fun fight. Definately higher then the given level. Happy Hunting ^^

I fought a few of these NMs while mining in Gusgen and on my way to Oldton Molvapolos. The rings don't sell for much, but the fight is rather fun. They do fight like a mob much higher than their lvl would suggest.

OK.. I could be crazy but I think the ghost NM spawn about 3 in the morning on the day of the item they drop. Burned Bergmann drops the mal"flame" ring so he's on firesday.

He aggro'd me once in Gusgen when I went AFK. I ran back when I heard myself getting hit, and kinda paniced. I think I was level 46 RDM/THF. I forget why I had THF subbed, but I did. Anyways, I couldn't get out of the mine cuz it was the middle of the night and the doors were all shut, so I figured I'd just fight it and see what happened.

I beat it, but it ended up pretty close. I kept him silenced as much as possible, and kept myself buffed. I didn't think Undead were able to be Slept, but Sleep/Sleep2 worked on the ghost. It's the only way I was able to win.. Sleep, Regen, Refresh, Stoneskin, Blink, Enfire, etc. Had to convert, too.. but I won.

Ghosts are a lot harder than their level suggests, too.

Just passing through Gusgen.. Saw this Bergman dude on widescan. Checked out the difficulty on this site. Decided to try him out.

Says level 36-38, but like his family type, he fights like a 50. I was 45RDM and had one **** of a time with him. In fact, he killed me, but just barely. I swore revenge, so I came back and just barely won our second encounter (seems like every time I go to this area, he's always there). He's not stingy with handing out the curses. In fact, if the first one doesn't stick, he'll throw another one on immediatly afterwards. Hits super-fast, super-hard and overall isn't nice.

1/1 with the ring. Pretty nice for someone who doesn't need STR or CHA, like a PLD. Significant protection against element.
