I just soloed Mimias and Porphyrian as a lvl 40war/17monk. Used 1 meat for the whole trip up and refreshed when it wore on 10th floor. Killed Mimias, rested and attacked "Big P" with Mighty Strikes and Berserk and weapon of choice: GREAT AXE!!!

yea so I'm 45RDM/20NIN and I'm sick of waiting for people to help so I've decided to solo it, what are my chances?
Wanting to do this mission, I waited until I could get some help from an LS-mate (Thanks Hohenheim!).
As a THF36/NIN18, enemies only check as Easy Prey, save for a ghost or two.
When we finally got up there, only this guy was there (People camping NM, and I guess... Slaughtering for gil? *Shrugs*).
We engaged Porhy, and... Honestly, I COULD have soloed this rank too. After a blind bolt, the few times he tried to hit me, he missed... And a shadow absorbed EES.
A newly spawned Mimas posed much more of a danger, as did the DC gigas I stupidly aggroed downstairs, and had to face alone. XD
Anyway... Rank 4. W00t.

So I haven't actually completed this mission yet, but it seems to be pretty easy. However, the reason that I haven't finished yet is that I get all the way to the top and then something aggroes me and kills me. I'm only a 40 WAR/20 NIN, so this isn't really surprising that I die even though everything is Easy Prey. I'm going to get a 47 SAM to come along with me and we'll easily duo it (actually, he'll basically solo it and I'll watch...). Just be careful because last night, I tried and got a Gob aggro, but they all linked along with their bat slaves, so I ended up with about 10 mobs on me. Needless to say, I died. If you have sneak\invis, you can easily get to the top at level 40. As for the NM itself, I can't say since I haven't fought it yet, but it seems from everyone else's comments that it's easy too.

Soloed him as a 43 ninja last nite. Pretty easy even got agroo from one of the mobs roaming the room, but a whm leveling her npc pulled it off me after like 30 seconds.
I will be a 45-46 BLM/WHM when I attempt this mission (a day or two). I was just wondering if I can get up the 10 floors and solo the NM or will I need assistance?!

i solod'd this thing as a 45DRG/22WHM, and got link/aggro from Mimas, that giga with a big axe and took em both on..not gonna say i didnt have white knuckles, but i won :P

Just did this mission today with a LS friend(Thanks again Tan).
Porphyrion was nowhere near as strong as I thought he would be. 300%tp Raging Fists did 500 odd damage to him. Either way, im glad to have this out of the way. Such a long walk up those freaking stairs.
So yeah, I think as a 41 monk, I might have been able to solo this if I used my 2 hour, but, there is no way that I would have been able to make it all the way up those stairs.

This used to be pretty fun.
Does this really drop Moth Axe? I don't think a mission NM would drop a treasure item, and I've never seen it drop Moth Axe ever.

I actually did this mission a long time ago, but I'm reading up on it again because tonight I'll be helping my friend do this for his Rank 4.
When I went for my mission, I was a level 37 THF I think (poorly equipped if I remember lol) led by a level 50 PLD. We took a while to get to the top, but made it, and when we got into the room with this NM in it, there was already another party there. We asked them nicely, and they joined forces with us. I was the only person below level 40, and there were about 8 of us. As soon as the NM popped, I went to target it, but it was dead. I swear that thing was alive less than one second, everyone just owned him right away lol.
Anyways, hopefully I'll be able to find some high level help tonight to make this easy, because I forget my way through Delkfut's x_x;

Yeah i need to do this the 3-3 and im a lvl 33 whm. if my ls friend (lvl 50 rdm) would we stand a chance of beating this guy?? or should i ask for someone else to help me too???
Just beat this guy as a 51 Blm solo. Heres the deal.
He spawns in the huge room on the top floor(near the elevator). That room is usually filled with Gigas, so bide your time until you can pull him safely to the side. And if the Thunder elemental is out too.... all bets are off.
Start by pulling with any spell.
I Eseal+ Sleep 2'd him and it lasted .2 seconds(enfeebling capped)
Cast Freeze with an ice staff. Stay at range so he uses Catapult(the acc. on this attack is below room temperature). I took him to 25% He immediately responded with EES. Whip out earth staff, cast cure 3 on me and then Blizzard 2. this took him to 1%. I hit him with my staff and got a billion jillion keys ^_^
It is very possible to solo this guy as a blm, but you NEED an ice staff for damage and earth staff to weather his hits after your AM. He hits surprisingly fast.

yep not too hard at all. as a 55pld, i forgot to pull it to the side. didnt matter tho, ended up killing it + 2 links that i got, with 500hp to go.

this is a wierd mob if its lvl 36 how comes it was impossible 2 guage for a 51 SMN/ 25 WHM it wasnt really a hard fight me and my friend 55 RDM didnt have n any problems got like 8 keys lol was fun

Because all NM even if youre WAY higher lvl it will con as Impossible to gauge. I just killed him like 10 min ago and was a really easy fight for me too..Fun tho!

Taken down as level 60 paladin incredibly easily. Just hacked at him with glut sword for a minute or so and he was gone, no problems. Didn't heal or use any Mp.

I usually help my LS to do that mission, i can solo Mimas (0/3) and this guy (/3 too XD) as a lvl 50 drg, maybe ull need a rdm/whm with mimas but hey, that guy's just too easy, raise ur TP with another gigas and just WS him

If i were you, i would'nt try it. There are about 5+ Gigas in the room that checked Easy Prey to me (lv 45) and there are about 2 Notorious Monsters that spawn in that area, if you search for some high lvs in the area, im sure they will help you.

One side of the room was clear and I pulled him off to the side and solo'd him quite easily as 48rdm/blm.

i soloed him as 44whm/22nin ^.^b fiance needed 3-3 so i said id give it a go.. took him down but links killed me @.@ if anything i can say.. haha whm can solo to an extent >.> utsusemi < stoneskin < haste <blink < etc ^.^

i see alot of people asking if they can kill this thing around lvl50, yes hes ez, i could take him down ez @50pld. im about 0/50 on the axe drop, spawns every 10min or so. look out for his 2hour, he hits hard and fast.

I just took this fag as a Smn52. Carbuncle solo'd him down to about 5-10 percent HP with three other links. Then I summoned shiva for a sporting (|Double Slap|) and he died. Now drop, but he was so easy. =D

umm, i went with a lvl 52 monk and it soloed this and 4 Giants that agroed her while fighting. She hundred fisted but was on like 300hp/1100 before the fight started so a 52 BLM should take it easy, just Elemental seal - bind. Then rip into him.

Elemental Seal + Sleep 2 or Bind or Stun or something, AM it, should get it, if not first try, add a level 2 spell, easy

I'm a Lv 47 Mnk on Alexander server... if your a monk and you want to solo this mission your set once you get to 47. I two houred thinking this would be hard but i got aggored by two giants while taking on this Mob and i still walked away with 700hp. Just use your buffs and have chakra on standby and you shouldn't even have to two hour

My only problem is that ive got 725mp....but only 509 hp...almost anything Tough can kill me in about 3hits if my Summon doesnt have hate

I would say you might be able to solo it with your 2 hr. cause if you get hate you're a goner in a couple hits. Giants tend to hit hard for their lvl and a smn has low def and low hp. Only way I can see it happening is if you eliminate every other giant in the spawn area and start off with your 2 hr and get in three. I'm not sure if this would be enough dmg to take him out or not.

Can a lvl 45 rdm solo it? I was wandering through the tower the other day and everything on the first two levels was too weak... I couldnt find the last elevator or I would have kept going but i decided to check the mission first...good thing to...I'm surprised i was able to find my way out without a map >< So can I solo it?
u DEFENTLY need a lvl 47+ to beat this kid, he uses eagle eye shot twice or once and each delt around 290-310 dmg to me... also make sure u kill all the giants in the room so that the other giants dont link

Was farming pots in Middle Delk when an LS group of 4 levels 35-37 escorted by a LV57 BLM passed through my territory. Being rather bored with farming pots, I asked if I (LV50 THF) could go with them, and as it turned out, that was a damn good idea, because the BLM disconnected on the next floor's stairs and never came back. C_C So it was up to me to lead this relatively weak party through the last five levels of Delkfutt's tower. After many many close calls, as certain of the party refused to listen when I told them to stay put or go and got aggro, needing rescues, we managed to make it to Porphyrion's floor. A roving DRG killed Mimas for us (I would have killed it anyway, but he got it first, less work for me) and then I went outside the cerment door. I thought it'd be hard to kill him, since every time I've seen him he's been in the middle of a morass of other gigas ready to link, but I got very lucky and he'd wandered over next to the door! ^_^!! I pulled him and yelled for my party to open the door again, which they did after about a minute of me panicking and waiting for links, and then coaxed Porphyrion inside the hallway. With the hall already clear and the door shut behind him, it was an easy fight, zero links, and that LS was very grateful for my help. ^_^
Plus I got two stacks of shards, a stack of mercury and a lightning cluster for my trouble. ;)
EDIT: Upon reading below, I see that he has used Eagle Eye Shot in the past. In the fights I underwent, both this one and the one w/ high level help for my own mission, he didn't use it. We killed him too fast XD

I just solo'ed this guy as a 44mnk/16thf..wasnt too hard..Eagle Eye hit for about 230. I did use my 2 hour on him.

That confused me at first, too, but if you look at other posts farther down, it's apparently Porphyron who's doing Eagle Eye, not the Monk who fought him.

i suggest at least if you go at lvl 45, buff with foods, probably a fish kabob for your defense. Stay away from links and go in with full health. You should be good.

hmm i would say lvl 47 would be safe to solo this guy he does use Eagle Eye Shot and me when i killed him last hit me for like 243

Ok I'm a level 40 pld and I'm wondering can I solo the guy to my key. If so what what level are the other giants by him. I want to do this but no one wants to help me out.

I wouldn't recommend soloing this until you are about Lv45. NM's are generally about 3-4 Lvs above their stated Lvs. The thing that you watch for is Eagle Eye Shot. The adds arent much to worry about if you know how to handle them, but they are very pesky. If you can clear out the other Gigas, you might be able to solo him.
Women are like Voltron. The more you hook up, the better it gets.
Got a Delkfutt Chest Key from him as well as the other keys when I helped a couple of guys kill him.
And to answer the the post below, yes there are other giants in the battle area but they're hardly going to bother 2 L60's (overkill or what ^^). You can pull him away from the others if you're careful and patient.
