So I had been helping a friend and 2 of his buddies get rubies in Buburimu, but then I had to log. Being lazy, I stop at the telepoint in Mea and log.

Log back in earlier today, and start beating the crap outta anything I can find, then I see 3 dhalmels standing pretty close together.

Being greedy, I smack all three with a 70+ damage ranged, and get all three after me. Beat one, riped up the second, then notice it's not saying "Sothis hits the Wild Dhalmel for 45 points of damage" or whatever, but rather, "Sothis hits Serpopard Ishtar for 40 points of damage."

Hit for about 40-50 with Corrosive Kukri, 50-60 with Holy Sword, critical with kukri for about 80, critical with sword for about 90, Viper Bite for 111.

Only hit me once the entire fight, for 10 pts. of damage. Got 1 Giant Femur, 1 Dhalmel Hide, and one Cerulean Pendant. Ended up dumping hide and femur to grab 2 clusters from an wind elemental within 5 minutes, but tossed the pendant in the AH for 1k. Not sure if it's sold yet.

As a lvl 24 theif/ 9 monk, I was farming in the canyon. Stumbled across this guy and decided to give it a try. Sneak/boost/combo for 200 HP, then take the remaining HP down easily. I have good equip and a lot of + evasion gear. The dhalmel barely even hit me, got a critical hit on me though, I think I by the end of the fight I was down to 250/380.
Um..leave him alone <20 lol

I was hunting Tahrongi Canyon yesterday as a BST using Dhalmels when lo and behold Serpopard Ishtar materializes. I was only level 16 at the time but I just couldn't resist. So I sent a DC Dhalmel against it then ran to look for another. I ended up sending about five or six DCs against this thing and had its HP down to a little less than half. Then, no more pets to throw at it. So I truck it for the zone and it kills me just steps from safety. A party was nearby and they got the kill. I wept bitter tears but laughed later because I knew it was a stupid thing to try and do. Boredom made me do it.

I've got the drop from this NM 8 times so far. I've gotten it in windy weather, sandstorm weather, clear weather, day, night, you name it. It's got nothing to do with the weather or anything like that. Simply put.. It's a random drop just like any other, but it would be nice if the NM drops did have to do with things like that in every case. That would surely save a lot of time when going after them. ^_^

I can't say for sure, but I think this NM only drops the Cerulean pendant during windy weather. I've killed it a couple times, and seen numerous others fight it, as far as I know it only drops the item in wind, seeing as how it's wind +6 that'd make sense. If anyone gets the drop during other weather, then you've disproved my theory, though... The item doesn't sell for more than 1k anyway, on Midgard.

Just killed this thing as 32thf/15nin, it took 12hp off me and i killed it with ease. It dropped papaka grass which isn't listed on the drop list Dhahmel meat and the pendant.

Pretty much pointless hunting this thing, i just happened to come accross when heading to Windy >.<
strange beast

what stats does the cerulean pendant give? i remember when i had only played this game for a month or so and i was in a party of lvl 10-13, and we fought it. totally destroyed us. Seems like it's higher than lvl 20. from hearing what everyone else has said, sounds like this is a stupid NM. Doesn't drop much of anything of much value.
meh, nothing special

Killed it extremely quickly, dropped pendant. Pendant does not have rare tag and its pretty much worthless, only worth looking for if you are already killing dhalmel really, or really want the pendant and cant part with 1k for the thing.

Do you have to kill a certian area of Dhamehls to get rid of his place holder or does he just spawn after a certian time?
Is it Worthless?!

Today I was returning to Windurst as a Level 20 BLM/WHM, while running I kept pressin TAB key, as I always do, to know what could be in my way. By no means, I was expecting to read Sherpopard Ishtar's health bar, but it happened... at pos (H-8)! There it was, pasturing near to a party of 3 level 13 Tarus... I immediately checked the guide and I read it was a level 19-20 NM! I thought, this can't be, the first time I stumble unto him, and I may not be able to solo it, yet... But, I immediately asked the little guys for help, they, as expected said no way! and, We don't hunt NMs.. I made a quick call to my LS members, but, none were close by. BTW: Mavericks, I salute you!-Siren Server. So, I just followed Serpopard, until a WHM level 25 engaged it! Wow, was the WHM getting whupped! I immediately told the WHM to invite me to her pt, and another guy, a WAR, Toshi, also helped... The tides immediately turned, and I just poured all my mp into it. Sadly for us, Serpopard only dropped 2 Dhalmel Hides..... I really think an aggressive job like WAR, BLM, or RDM can beat it at level 20+, but WHMs sure do get their behinds whupped by any NM, even 5 levels below them.

This guy definitely does NOT aggro. I stood right in front of him with my lvl 11 subjob, and he didn't attack me.

I concur. There's no way this thing aggros. I danced around it for a few minutes while looking for someone help me take it down. If I'd had my 2hr, I probably would have just taken it solo, but I was linked by two Dhalmels about an hour before Ishtar spawned. :( Anyway, it doesn't aggro. It probably links, like all Dhalmels, but no aggro.

A few nights ago I was running around farming Giant Femurs. He happened to pop close to me when I was killing another Dhalmel. Killed it and got the pendant. Whoo, sold it in my Bazaar for 900gil. (Sells at 1k on Cerberus)

# Feb 12 2004 at 5:28 AM Rating: Default
I've kill it 9 times so far:
1st: No drops
2nd: 1 Dhalmel meat
3rd: 2 Dhalmel meat
4th: 2 Dhalmel meat, 1 Dhalmel hide, Cerulean Pendant
5th: No drops
6th: No drops
7th: 3 Dhalmel meat, 1 Dhalmel hide
8th: 1 Dhalmel meat, 4 Dhalmel hide, Cerulean Pendant
9th: No drops

I sold one of the necklaces to an NPC for around 1.2k, and saved the other to wear for when I'm farming Air Elementals (its a nice necklace for the wind resistance).

Well I just killed it with a low lvl party, 11-14, used all two hours on it. Didnt drop anything.

Your map seems to be a bit off, we found it at G-5 more close to the zone

well...it could spawn at where he said...but it can move from place to place...it's allowed to move. Like i found spipi in (I-9) but it spawns in (I-7)

I too found it around G-5
Use caution
# Feb 04 2004 at 11:12 AM Rating: Default
I saw this guy wipe out an entire group of level 13 to 16 players. I would advise caution when fighing it solo (be at least level 30). I myself have yet to fight it (I was leveling my sub when he raped the party). And I doubt a cerulean pendant is the best drop he has...I mean even leaping lizzy and spini spipi have better drops than that and are a hell of a lot easier to kill.

Killed it 2 times and it dropped a Cerulean Pendant both times. Sold both for 2k at auction house. I doubt this is his "rare drop" though...

He was a joke for my 24 Red/12 Black mage. I killed him 2 times and got a Cerulean Pendant both times. Not too bad I sold them both for 2000 a piece. But I doubt this is his RARE big money drop...
