Sales is always about supply and demand... if you ask 30k for a level 10 item, you will sell them slower than if it were less.
I think it's rare that a Rank 1, no subjob player would be able to afford this - so most people probably go camp Spiny themselves with their original job before they use it for leveling a mage class.

Just hit my 20th drop on her. Took about three months off from killing her, tonight I was bored so I decided why not, I was in Mhuara for Ranger AF2 anyways. I get there and bam, somone is killing her. So I decide I'll farm crawlers for a bit. Kill crawlers non-stop for an hour, 7 silks later Pop goes Spiny. So I flee down to her, shadowbind her (even though no one was around) and then I slash away at her with my archer's knife. And she drops me my cape and two silks.
Man I really do love her, she's a great gal, I can beat on her all I want and she still gives me stuff! LOL J/K. Anyways to all ya'll out there hunting don't get discouraged, I hunt for the thrill of the sport, and if it drops, it drops if not, hey at least I got another kill on a notorious monster.

hmm i have been wandering around in that area for about 4 game days, searching for that nm and couldnt find it!

Well I've seen this NM twice out of all the times i've ran around looking. Once when i was farmin crawlers I was healing my MP up for the next round of crawlers, and she was walkin by, i targeted her and noticed it wasn't a regular crawler. I was only lvl 20BLM/10WHM and took her down with out much offort. The second time I seen Spiny was when I went out hunting her, but about 5 people had already claimed her.

Every time i hunt this NM just to have the cape, there is always somebody there before me to go in for the kill. There will be NO ONE around until the second he spawns..... Then i have to sit there and get mad.Im currently 0/5 with this nm and had 5 of them taken by someone just passing by....I say to hell with this Nm...

As I was lvling my THF (Lv.9 at that time), I had a feeling he was there, and HE WAS! I only had half my HP, but I still attacked him. He kicked my taru @$$ rather fast..there was only a Lv.11 WAR around the place, so I quickly HPed, switched to my SAM, grabbed a chocobo, ran back to the place, and HE WAS STILL THERE! My Lv.58 PLD/THF friend was in the canyon at that time, I engaged Spiny, no weapon, I didn't take the time to take my Kotetsu, and I started hitting him with my bare hands (SAM suck at hand-2-hand, even with my h2h capped), and then my friend zoned in Saruta, I invited him so I could get Treasure Hunter effect, but even with him next to me, we didn't get the drop.
Just wanted to share my experience.
This is the 4th time kill him, and 2 times I only had a low lvl and got raped by this *******.

just killed him while farming in ronfaure...thought he was another normal crawler and when my frist axe hit only got him down to half hp i realized it was spini...got drop and damn this guy is big. A taru watching me kept doing a weird emote though...it was like /em flashes Nauticajimmy. o_O
I hope you know Spiny Spipi is in East Saruta..

[/Green] ( [Black] ******* Sword [/Red] ) [Black] of an nm to kill for lvl 15 THF/ RNG... got killed once and then HPed and died to it again but some people were /cheering me and saw that i died when the NM was near death >< and actually asked me if they could have the NM since i was dead. Wow!

This is the only NM I have killed, and I have done it twice. Cool thing is while waiting for him to pop, the crawlers and the gobs can make pretty good income on the side. Silks 1000 gil each and items goblins drop go for 500-1000 gil aswell.
I am 1/2 on him. First time I found him I got cape and a silk. Second time he appeared I was telling my friend about him and he said "This guy?". Killed him but no drop. Just two silks.
Both times I found him in the upper waterfall area by a tree. Same spot both times. On the south side of the river. Neither time I was actually looking for him (first time just killing gobs. second time my friend was in there and I was watching him to make sure he didn't die). Nobody camps there on my server, either, so it is pretty easy to get once he pops.

I was doing the quest for the clay tablet and found him right next to it. I got the Cape too! And another crawler aggroed and I got a silk from him too.
I got him almost the same way ^^ Had just dinged 30 and was on a choco back to Windy when I saw 5 or 6 Crawlers not too far apart. Unclaimed and nobody around. Ignoring that much potential for silk thread was just too painful, so I dismounted and went to work. Crawler #1 dropped a silk thread, and darned if Spipi wasn't the 2nd Crawler! He dropped the cape and a silk thread^^

Had the best time with Spipi the other night.
I had just began Beastmaster and was getting exp in East sarutabaruta when Spipi pops right next to me, being only lvl 5 I knen I didn't stand a chance with him, but my girlfriend was also online and was at the AH in windy. So I sent my beloved pet bee off to attack spipi and ran for my life, in the meantime I had my g/f run out to meet me and kill the crawler, as she is a veteran hunter of him anyway. In the meantime spipi was chasing me at a distance thru the entire area, lol it was a great time, had at least 3 higher lvl ppl chasing me around beggin for invites, telling me to call for help etc, one guy was getting so mad he messaged me and told me to disengage so someone else could kill it, but seeing I rightly claimed it why should I? Finally Rowena (my g/f) meets up with me and kills it......no drop but it was fun as hell and got quite a few people worked up.

I have been trying to kill Sippi for the Cape for a couple of months but the only time I ever saw her I was a lvl 7 THF and she ripped me a new one.
Then I got RNG and Wide Scan (love it!). I happen to see her on and I am a lvl 9 RNG. I go after her and she wins in a tough battle. I then de'lvl. I HP to Windy Woods and head out again, this time I have 6 min until my 2 hour comes back. I get my lvl back and attack. After my 2 hour, a 181% TP attack with Flaming Arrow she beats me WORSE than before!! Frustrated, I enter my Mog House and change to 15THF/7RNG and head out again. She is still there!! I win a landslide fight and get the cape and a silk thread. I am excited because my WHM is going to love this cape!

Well I have been camping this crawler on the Leviathan Server on and off for about a month now. Those of you who camp him on Leviathan have seen me doing it. I used to get yelled at for doing since Im not a THF, Im a 25RDM/12WHM right now, I was told I was wasting peoples time by camping him and that everytime I fought him I was throwing away a chance for everyone else.
Just for the record I finally got the Cape, in the end I am 1/32 for Spipi drops and only wanted the cape to wear it. I consistently beat out rangers with Wide Scan and Thieves with flee when he would pop. Im not telling my secret but for those of you camp with neither Ranger nor Thief just know that It can be done. Anyone who sees me on Leviathan now can see my proudly wearing my new Mist Silk Cape!

You don't have to be any lvl for him to pop, just hang out in East Saru for long enough and he'll pop somewhere. A very hard camp if you don't have widescan.
well, been tryin to camp him for 4 days now, but not a peep, any chance that ya have to be higher then lvl 10 for him to pop? btw, not campin him alone at this lvl, lol... I like risk, not suicide ^_^
i can say for certain that you do not have to be at least lvl 10 for him to pop. i was killing off bunnies and such with my lvl 7 whm waiting for my pl to show up when spipi spawned about 20 feet in front of me. i attacked... i died. pl showed up and killed it but no cape. well im off to camp her again (not w/ the whm though =P) hopefully i can fix my horrid 0/15 record with her ive built up ><
cool, well thats one thing I guess I dont have to worry about... still hopin(sp edit) to find her tonight...
the cape really isnt much of a priortity for me, but my blm friend really could use it... just want to kill my first nm.... and I dont want it to be tom tit tat, lol

This is my first NM camp. Two days ago I decided to camp Spipi. The first day I fought him twice in a period of 2 1/2 hours. That means I got him both times he popped. I was siked about that but no drop. The next day I fought him twice. Again, twice in 2 1/2 hours. Got him both times again, on the fourth time I got the cape... I was siked because I am a Blm/Whm so this can easily be worn until level 32. So I am 1/4 on him, first NM monster I've camped.... and got him 4 pops out of the 4 pops I camped him.... amazing... the thrill of actually seeing him, being able to claim him and kill him is just amazing!

I was just walking along one day when i come across a guy fighting a crawler with a funny name. I figured it was a NM. i had never seen him before. i checked they guy, he was a 15whm/blm. being a 8blm/whm i figured i stick around and heal him up and see if he kills it...he did. then i discovered he drops a cape that is worth 30k..so i do some research and camp him myself. one day i find him right by the water in the middle of the out cropping of rocks right before the waterfall. i bind him and start to cast away. id say i got him down to like 30% health or so and i die, just then a guy jumps out from behind a rock and kills him and runs off. i was irrate. so i go back and switch to thf21/war and go out and try again. after 2 days of camping him, i run into him 2 times kill him twice and nothing but silk drops from him. first time i saw him was on the pathway , second time was in the rock out cropping, and the third time i found him way down the river at the end..no silk cape...ill keep trying. i figure the best thing to do is get the rng job and just widescan camp him.

08:06-igt 4:11-rlt 8/05 I defeated the Spini Spipi in Fairy World. I had been camping Tom Tit Tat and Spini Spipi all day, with no luck. I conquered Tom Tit Tat earlier today, then finally defeated Spini Spipi. Tom Tit Tat dropped nothing when defeated. Spini Spipi dropped 1 Spool of Silk Thread.
Now that I have defeated Spini Spipi, it is time to farm the final Spool of Silk Thread I need to have my stack.

Could anyone tell me the spawn time-range and rop rate on the Spini Spipi in Fairy World?
Sooo...I was out and about leveling my level 11NIN (trying to solo to level 12 - working quite well actually!) and am just randomly killing things in this whole general area. Lo-and-behold! Omg, Spini Spipi!!!! So I frantically contemplate "Take him, or no? Can I do it??" So of course, the answer is no and I die horribly (no 2hour - i used it earlier >.< ). No one had been there to see me die, so I respawn and change jobs and grab a Choco and head back out there as fast as I can. I'm praying that I'll get really lucky and no one will have come by (despite seeing people running by randomly while I was leveling). I get back there to K-6 and he's still there! I was so excited! And I killed his punk *** and got the Mist Silk Cape!! I know it's not much...but hey - this is my first sucessful NM kill...first time getting Spipi too. So I was really happy ^_^ And lucky that no one else got to him in between me dying and coming back.

I was leveling in Sarutabaruta just a little bit ago and happened to run into her as my Samurai (Tarutaru). I was kind of angry, since I camped it a long time ago, but to no avail, and I figured that I didn't stand a chance at level 10. I was just going to ignore it, but figured, "What the hell?" and went for it. I 2-houred immediately after pulling it with my bow and used a Distortion Skillchain against it (only SC possible for me at this level with Great Katana.) I got really worried after she used Sticky Thread on me, since my weapon's delay is already 450, but she was missing me quite a bit, possibly because of the Leaping Boots I am wearing. I ended up defeating her with 53 HP and received one silk thread and... one Mist Silk Cape. ^^

averytime i go there on my beastmaster i always find him. bst/whm if u are wondering...i killed him 5 times with 4 drops and 8 silks... sorry to all of u who are haveing bad luck with nm drops.
