General InformationLottery spawn of the Damselflies that spawn from (D-8) through (F-8) in Valkurm Dunes PH Info from SmokesalotThe PH is the mob the prevents the NM from spawning until it is killed. In the case of the Valkurm Emperor, it is one of the Damselflies that roams about Whitesands beach in Valkurm Dunes. What a kagillion people refuse to take into their minds is that VE has ONE placeholder, and that's it. Go to the beach with Widescan ability, and position yourself at the peak of the sandhill just northwest of the pack of trees in the middle of the beach. Pull up WS, and you'll see something like this. Damselfly Goblin Mugger Goblin Leecher Goblin Gambler Sniper Sniper Sniper Sniper Damselfly<~~~~~PH!!! This is a truncated list, but as you can see the PH is located in the set of four Damselflies between the leeches and the snipers, and is always the top one. These flies are always grouped in four, and are always located between the snipers and the thread leeches. When VE pops your list will look like this... Sniper Sniper Sniper Damselfly Damselfly Damselfly Valkurm Emperor Thread Leech Thread Leech Thread Leech Thread Leech VE always pops on the bottom of the list. If there aren't four flies in the list, that means someone else is killing them. Either nearby parties, or other campers. If this is happening, you have to figure out a way to nab yourself the PH, and be 100% sure that the fly you kill is the PH. After that, go ahead and let the other campers waste their time killing the other flies. Valkurm Emperor Special Attacks

Everyone wants it. That's no doubt. Prices on Remora raised from 500k to 900k wanting this very badly for my RNG, I farmed and synthed Sheep Leather for all that it was worth to get to 400k by that time I figured I should just try and camp for myself. Now I did get lucky at least 2 times and get the drop once. However, for those who are planning on camping him here's some advice. It's not impossible to claim him just have to be lucky. I also found out that the spawn area is now larger then it shows here, and the re-spawn time is 1-4 hrs. But if you have close friends who are willing to camp him with you, bring them. I found out at least 7-10 people camp this thing daily. Good luck.

The PLD gods are smilling on me :) I am 2 for 2 on this guy with the drop. Got one for me and Then went back few days later and got one for a LS member.
You know, I see a lot of false information on here, and a lot of bragging about secrets (Mattaroo, I don't toss this word out lightly, but like or not you are a noob).

You know, I have never seen this many posts on one thread from one person. And when YOU are dreaming of how awesome you are at claiming VE, just imagine how powerful a being that makes you in the REAL world, and that someone has warned you of OCD and that you have symtoms. Look it up when you log out dude. Quick. Seriously.
Define Packet sniffing... Lol idk wat the *** that is.
to put it the easiest way:
the packet sniffing programs read the code that SE sends to the game. (ie: what mobs will spawn) They realize that since this different code is spawning, its the NM. Since they see the code before it reaches the game, they know the NM is going to spawn 2-3 sec before it pops.

On the Fenrir server. There are 4 Packet Sniffer Bots who camp VE 24/7. The reason I know they are packet sniffing... They cast Flee and Hide 2-3 seconds before VE pops on Widescan and then they Flee to him and Voke. There is a slight problem though. They do not know where he is at as soon as they flee. Ive personally watched three of them flee/hide and run in the wrong direction.
They are not IMPOSSIBLE to beat. I only missed 2 claims to them after camping all day! ^^

Umm, I kill the 4 placeholders at the same time (a common strategy), and at the appropriate time, I can flee (as can anybody else) when those 4 will spawn again ... and wouldn't you know it, sometimes the Emp spawns instead of one of the four placeholders (but I didn't where he'd be, exactly).
Does that make me a bot?
And, since this isn't abnormal to see, you don't even have to be the one that kills the PH's ... all you have to do is be scanning, and if you see all of them go bye-bye from one scan to the next, you now know when they will respawn ... therefore, it would be kinda smart to Flee when that time comes, just in case.
It's all about speed, and if hitting flee before it spawns will save you a second, then by all means you should do it ... they do.
Please, don't judge so fast ... I've seen people being called RMTs and Gil Sellers before when they're actually not ... and I've been called that on more than one occassion as well - just because I'm seemingly faster than I should be.

Well, your right but your language makes this one a rate down. Yes, TH1 is there for a reason, and it does waste drops camping without, but it is a game friend. You don't like the way others play, don't play or take it up with SE. And you arleady know what they'll say.

Me n my friend camp this he subs Bst for charm n WS so he usually betas bots. And there is also no secret to this Nm its purly a lottery n random pop. Ive seen birds in the ocean and all that stuff and there just a Quidincdents ( bad sp on that 1 )

i knoe the trick to finding VE u gotta figure it out but it is in ur widescan and after u find it u just gotta be fast >.<

Don't think you are special cuz you know the secret. I know at least 30 people who are CLOSE FRIENDS who know what you are talking about. All the JP know it and those Packet Sniffing Bots know it too.
Plus there was a high level Thief who released the info over Allakhazam one time. I will try to find the link.

You people from caitsith are just too weak. Im from caitsith too and Ive been camping Valk Emp at JP hours and I am so far 0/14 this guy has crap drop rate. I use stun voke and usually get claim cuz its closer to me. There have been instances where he does pop claimed which is annoying. But to fix that Ive called a GM on a few people and never had problems when Im against them again. They get the idea when they pull it once get kicked out of the area and Im there when the same guy is there next time. I sub thf but thats why I need Valk Emp so I can use the drop when i lvl thf

Okay, well I don't know how many servers have "gilsellers" or people that just camp this thing non-stop, but I'm guessing most. On my server(caitsith), if you're going to try and camp emp for the first time, DON'T. Would be a waste of your time, the gillers there have the thing owned. When they are claiming as THF/WAR, you know you don't stand a chance. I don't mean to lower all your self esteem, just trying to save you from wasting time that you could use for farming to buy the pin...

I have tried several times with friends to claim this dragonfly as I call it...I never claimed it because of GS (I think) I can't exactly afford the pin atm and I need this for my equip. What I wanna say is that they should make the drop Ex/rare that way ppl who need the darn thing will have a damn chance to get it instead of Gilsellers getting it and making tonnes o money. But I am going to keep trying..maybe one day I will achieve my dream XD. Meh I just wanted to voice my opinion/ Almost had it once..I ran up to it...did something retarded and pressed flee macro instead my bow >.< coulda had it...but then guess what? GS got! oh well
