yea, ive camped this for hours and hours too but got no pop. and sometimes i camp it for like a few and then it pops. i already know that you have to kill place holders on the cliff too, but is there certain ones that you need to kill? or all? w/e. if anyone knows please reply, ive been trying to figure this out for a while
This monster is no longer listed as a nm for some reason, but when I fight it it cons "Impossible to guage". I have now killed this nm 6 times. At level 66 it gives me 12 exp per kill still, and the only thing I have ever gotten from it is two bugard skins and a pair of Caitiff's Socks.
73 blm solo.. lol yea youd kill him the 30 hp regain thing is rough but it would still be kill. if you decide to camp him please let me know if he starts spawning regularly because i sat out there for 6 hrs and had enough of it.. basterd didnt spawn once.
Me and a friend finished doing our promyvion missions today and we killed this nm. Pretty easy fight my hp was only below 50% a couple times, this thing does have a lot of hp, but if you are a drg and sub a mage job it should be an easy fight. Oh and no drop >< might log on tomorrow and try killing the thing. Seems to be a 1.5 hour spawn time, saw it spawn someone claimed it then I wandered around the zone and got some awesome screenshots, 1.5 hours later to the minute it spawned again.
EDIT: Killed it again 1 hour 45 minutes later solo as a DRG/RDM level 65, long fight took about 6 minutes and no drop except a bugard skin. Also I got 12 exp from it which leads me to believe its not level 75 hehe probably level 52-56 or so.
EDIT 2: Attempted to solo it a second time, but its hp regen is what killed me, I even had to use a yagudo drink and still wasn't able to win ><... going to wait 2 more levels before I try to solo it again.
Came here my first time killed it with a friend me a lvl 62 war him a 59 pld. this thing is one hell of a fight ;; anyway down to 200 hp finally rampaged and killed it no drops but the boots. came back next day been here 6 hrs now no spawn mabey somethin with the update but damn its long spawn it seems
saw him on widescan for the second time tonight, so i went to check him out. there was a 73pld in the zone, but he seemed to be logging. i eagle eye'd mr megalobugard for 631 [67rng/33thf war bow+1 scorps] and that didn't put much of a dent in him. he was hitting me for like 70 some so i pulled out my loxley and sleep arrows and kept him asleep while i shouted. the pld came, rested mp, then we fought and killed it. it was a fun fight, i was in red hp [mostly from kiting it when the pld was resting] and the pld yellow with 60 mp. nothing dropped.
and where's the pic i submitted? i sent it in october ; ; http://img40.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img40&image=megalobugard.jpg
I fought this thing as a Lv60PLD/smn but didnt get the any drop.
!~!~!NOTE!~!~! He has auto Regen of about 50hp.
I would not have won solo as my 40-100 damage was not enough to keep him from regened to full HP for 45 minutes! I had a Lv54 brd/whm(healed) and a Lv65 Thf(for damage) to help me out.
He has about 2.5 times the HP of a Gigantobugard and hits *maybe 1.2 times as hard.
Think he is a lot/2hr pop. Never been there for more then an hour and a half myself without a pop. Just keep killing the Gigantobugard in the general area.
It seems like no matter how long i camp it never pops anymore. I have fought it 6 times in the little area in the valley yet now I haven't seen it pop at all. I used to think it was a 2 hour spawn but waiting for 3-4 hours and nothing, even some other campers are waiting forever it seems. Anyone else notice this?
~Ori (>.> just going after the ring lol Add: I'm 0/6 on it... 3 times I was with a 60thf friend ><) Add: omg nevermind lol it popped in front of my face. just seems the time between pops has been increased somewhat. Add: yes, another edit lol I believe pop time can range from 1-5 hours.
I soloed this twice now as a Thf68, it hit me once throughout the 10 minute battle. You can only rely on Dancing Edge to get his HP down every 100TP, otherwise its pretty much stalemate because of his HP regen. I also used Meat Chiefkabob for the extra damage. All in all a very fun battle :)
Did the same thing as a 67 Thf/Nin, couldn't beat it without Nin sub, if blink goes down he hits too hard. Only took damage when he Tail Whip attack took away 2 of my shadows right after i applied, had to wait a bit to reaply, but other than that, no trouble, whole thing took like 15-20 minutes and i burned through 20 Shihie. Didn't drop anything and he didn't give exp to me at 67.
sry must of been in lala land i just fought this NM and got ring from it i was 63 brd and friend was 61 sam i got 9 exp
NOW to make things clear i could not solo this period end of story it has a "Regen" effect on it and it heals anywhere from 25-35 hp per tick lol so.. unless u got major DD with you dont expect to kill this...
no finale doesn't work requim / dia work but not as usefull as you may think...
After me just sitting there with it lullabying it and paeoning me for about 20 min my friend came along and i 2hr minuet us and went to town on it still took about 3 min to kill... my guess has 6k hp... as 600 damage from my spirits within looked like 10% :p
Indeed, Anatidae and I took this at the prerelease. I think it gave about 12 exp though to me (60 WAR/RDM). It did indeed con Impossible to Gauge (while everything else in the meadow conned Too Weak to be Worthwhile).
This is not the same as the Gigantobugard, it is an NM of almost exact looks.
Actually, I believe Megalobugard is indeed an NM found in Lufaise Meadows as a lottery pop of the surrounding Gigantobugards.
As far as I know it drops the M-bugard Tusk used in the Igqira Lappas recipe. As far as level goes, I don't recall getting experience from it at level 60 and it did not feel stronger than a level 50 NM would, although that distinction is subjective based on my accuracy and how hard it hit. He does have a special attack that causes a new type of disease that acts similarly to poison except reducing TP and MP over time, which is very annoying. Like the other bugards, Megalo is weak to Ice, as Enblizzard did slightly more damage than the others (by about 3 damage per hit), however, I don't recall what elemental he is resistent to.
My claim to fame with this is that I duo'd this NM with a friend at the CoP Pre-launch event in San Mateo, CA with a 60RDM/WHM and a 60 WAR/RDM, thus being what I consider the first CoP NM killed in North America^^. This does indeed con "Impossible to Gauge" - atleast it did when I fought it - so the previous posters may have this confused with the normal Gigantobugards.
This is not an NM, I saw many of these higher level buggards and they did not check as impossible to gauge, in fact they were not even IT to a level 61 (at the time) red mage, although I cant be specific I think they were DC.
