I tried to solo one today...
After about 15 minutes of kiting and 2 converts, him being at about 20% health, he charms me and regens to about 65% health. -_-
by then it was morning so i just ran off aggro and let him despawn.

SO im a level 70 bst xping in attawoh(sp) I see this bad boy pop up on WS. So im like What the heck, i was told they drop the jewels so im thinking MONEY! heh First one..took 4 pets mainly cause i was charming Ts to attack it and didnt want to mischarm. so i let them die. 2nd one I started with a EM antlion charmed and 2 houred a T and then bounced it around the 2. 3rd one...was almost bad, mischarmed a scorpian and almost died from silence ><. But I won. THe point is 3 corses and NO DROPS. Stingy undead lol
But i gotta ask anyways O.O... but uh...
I know it can charm you and it makes you fight your partners... but... can you fight your charmed partner? Would be kinda messed to kill your partner and make 'em de-level lol ^^. I dunno... i'm not gonna try yet since i'm 58 and what not... but still ^^... it'd be a good laugh ^^.

Indeed you can. Once your party member is charmed (it's always the person with aggro) he becomes in the eyes of your character, an enemy. You can nuke him, sleep him, wail on him with your swords, whatever. I always tried to be kind and sleep my pally when he got charmed. However, palladin's Resist Sleep ability sometimes forced me to resort to stronger measures. Charm lasts for about 1 minute and it can do it as many times as it likes, though only 1 person can be charmed at once.
Myself (75pld) and my linkshell mates (75brd, 75drk, 74rng, 70drk) decided to farm these a few nights ago. We had all kinds of fun, so I'd recommend anybody with a sense of adventure and some high level friends go try these guys.
Spawn time is between 20:00 and 4:00.
They can and will charm whoever is holding hate at that time and have AOE silence so bring some echo drops. It's a good idea to have either a whm or /whm in the group for poisona/erase so that you can sleep anyone who becomes charmed. Once you kill the AC the charmed person/people become uncharmed.
Also, I thought this was a funny fact for anyone curious: the bard in my group tried to charm me with virelai after I was charmed, but it didn't work. I don't think it would work for a bst either.
The drop seemed pretty common. We got 6 iolites in 2 nights of farming (about 12 kills I'd estimate).
You want to be careful of links (they don't actually link, but they will aggro if you get too close) and elementals. The only time we had deaths (full wipe, in fact, no matter though thanks to hymnus) was when we were resting and one of them attacked us. Then another aggroed us... then an air elemental came after us. We did kill 1 AC, but the rest was too much for us :P

as cool as this guy looked i had to fight it ... it hits real hard so underestimation leads to death..
got raised then tried again,not exactly ninja tank material (nin would do better than pld though) i got charmed and killed the rdm in my party , then finally , barely killed it

even tho they hit hard, pld got resistances to undead. also cure em for dmg, extra whm mp= extra dmg
Undead: PLD > NIN anyday.
ok so what if your a bst with your pet... if it chamrs u, Do Bst get resistance to charm?, and u kill ur pet, will pet attack u if u have it charmed and are charmed?, and at end u still charmed does it turn to u and attack u while charmed? or maybe once a Bst gets charmed his pet will become uncharmed, thus causing the pet to attack the bst... or would that be like a release and the pet just goes off to play with something else.... very very confusing thing to think about! ^^;
Bst doesn't get resist charm trait but we do get alot of base CHR which helps use resist charm. And if someone with a pet gets charm the pet will disappear.
This was amazingly fun to fight. I even got a .3 staff skill on my pally when I got charmed! =D Anyways, here are its abilities:
Memento Mori: INT Boost
Silence Seal: Silencega
Danse Macabre: Charm PC currently holding aggro
Envoutement: Damage + Curse
It can also cast all BLM spells.
This guy is serious business- conned VT++ to me at 73.

lvl 60 is a bad bad bad guess, id say corse are 75ish and arch corse are at least 85-90. I used chainwarp to escape when aggroed while exploring to avoid getting hit and killed, landed in jeuno with 23 hp left... i warped at full health.
As I said before, some mobs are really strong for their lvl. The level is based on the "Check" at lvl 60 they found to mob to be an "Even Match" and at lvl 45(w/e the lvl or regular Corse is) they found them to be "Even Match" which is why things get so hard at higher lvls. Mobs get strong, and at lvl 30+ "Easy Prey" becomes more of an "Even Match" depending upon the mob. Arch Corses, are just ridiculously strong.
Although this is true in many cases not for this mob. Read some of the other peoples' posts on this guy including mine I posted awhile back. While I was Attowha Chasm I saw this guy and did a check. When I was lvl 65 Arch Corse conned IT++ to me, not an even match. At lvl 65 if Arch Corse was a lvl 60 mob he'd be either EP or DC, not IT++.

Citapati is a lottery of Arch Corses near Tiamat. He drops Harpe, one of the highest damage and most sought-after daggers in the game.
Citi is a lottery of the regular Corses, not these.
man i want to get charmed by him!!

There's no way these things are only level 60. After completing the Attowha Chasm map quest my friend and I decided to go look for one of these. There was a 75 THF and a 71 RDM fighting one. They hardly made a dent in it before it killed them both. @_@
Some things are ridiculous for their level. Take Manticores for example. As a lvl 61 DRK my friend was too afraid to go near the lvl 45 ones. Some monsters are just really strong no matter what level they are.

The info is wrong. The page says Arch Corse is a lvl 60 mob and that couldn't be any more incorrect. I'm lvl 65 and it conned IT++ to me. It's gotta be at least lvl 75, and most likely higher than that.

Man! this guy like one bad *** ****! I like the dark-wizardish robes they give it. Really puts the "mage" look into this creature.

Be careful of this mob. Conned as VT to me at 68, I had a Tough Antlion charmed and two-houred (Job is BST) and it was hitting my pet for 200 average dmg. In addition it will charm party members. It charmed my WHM partner, and turned him against my pet antlion. We decided to make a quick exit shortly thereafter and didn't stay to beat this mob. ^_^

Freaked me out when my WHM partner decided to go whappy happy on my pet antlion. I suppose if you were in the mood for some Ghetto style Balista, it might be fun to experiment with. But seriously, that arch corse hits HARD. So... experiment with a full party ^_-
