I was just fighting these as BST. They do not aggro to rest, and they donot link. As for the fire crystal thing...they dropped earth crystals for me. The fire crystal posts are pretty old, so SE may have changed it.
I hate these!

I was helping some friends get Vahzl crystal and 1 of them wanted to go check out Ulegrand.......We made it in and the lvl 30 just ran off....and trained 2 tigers back along with a snoll....we raised him then sneaked and invised 60RDM tried to solo one of these and yes....the dang thing spammed Healing Carrot and Whirl Claws. I warped like all the others that could lol.

These also drop Frost Turnips, they can also be stolen from them.

Great exp for a party 51-53, camp right at the entrance and pull Hares and Tigers.

Also yes, they drop fire crystals.
Variable Charms?

I'm a level 59 Beastmaster with pretty dang good charm gear (Light Staff, 2 Melody Earrings, 2 Pearl Rings, Corsette +1 and a Beast Whistle) but I failed to charm an Even rabbit quite a few times. Are they difficult to charm? Or was I just unlucky? The tigers seem to be pretty easily charmed but the Hares can be a pain in the butt.

Lv 59 Elvaan BST with Apollo's staff, probably about 18 CHR bonus with charming gear, and I really didn't have a problem with these. I'd get the occasional miss, but second time would stick. If you have trouble charming, just be careful if/when you use a tough pet, since they are likely to become uncharmed mid-fight.

These things drop Fire Crystals for some reason. I'm sure of it, I lvled off of these and the tigers once and ended up with a stack of fire crystals and a stack of lightning, knowing full well that the tigers were the ones that obliged me the lightning crystals, I am pretty sure that the hares drop fire crystals.

Please help me, I'm confused how a snow bunny could drop fire crystals, but it is true!

Stupid Rabbits!

OH the Horror! I hate these stupid Rabbits.
They like to spam their Healing Carrot and Whirl claws. I barely within spell range and I was hit for 400+ points by the whirl claws.

Stupid Rabbits!
