Xolotl's Spawn Location
Xolotl's Spawn Location

  • Spawns between 20:00 and 4:00 every 21-24 hours after it's last ToD.

    • If it is unclaimed by the time that it reaches 4:00, it will despawn. If this occurs, Xolotl will respawn at 20:00 the next game day, and will continue this spawn-despawn process until defeated.

Xolotl Special Attacks

  • Black Magic Spells: Capable of casting all Tier IV single target and Tier III -aga spells a level 75 Black Mage possesses.

  • Gala Macabre: AoE Charm effect.

  • Danse Macabre: Single target Charm effect.

  • Silence Seal: Single target Silence effect.

  • Envoutement: Single target physical damage.

  • Final Revolution: AoE Magic damage.

  • Memento Mori: Self target Magic Attack bonus. (Effect can be dispelled).

  • Blood Weapon: All physical attacks performed by Xolotl will drain HP from the target equal to the amount of damage the attack does. Denoted by the characteristic mob two-hour animation.

Historical Information

In Aztec mythology, Xolotl was the god of lightning, fire, and bad luck, often depicted as a skeleton or a human with the head of a canine. Xolotl's primary functions were to guard the Sun whenever it passed through the Mictlan (the Aztec Underworld), as well as to act as the ferryman for the souls deemed worthy to travel to Mictlan.

I seen this guy at E-7, just a grid above Tiamat. He also had two skeletons constantly following him around. One was Xolytol's Sacrifice. The other I can't remember.

Fought this guy 2 days in a row, fun as fight. First time we kited one bone and I tanked teh other. 2nd time around we kited both. This nm is pretty easy if u have a bst dealing with XO himself.

Be warned, he can charm people and will cause them to attacka your teammates. I was charmed and I wacked the blm in alliance. LOL. I had to be slept.

This guy is a fun fight thats for sure, only the ******* didnt drop anything! not a crystal or anything, we got 25 exp and cool titles! im looking forward to killing him againwe had 14 people? give or take a few, he wasnt that hard at all, just deal with adds and he dies in about 5-10 min. he does have charmga, and an aoe silence. i think we lost one person and thats because he got lost on the way and never made it to battle. id guess level 75-79. im sure a pt of 6 could deal with this guy if they had solid tatics

I fought this NM the other day. In addition to the two items listed above as loot, he also drops bandomusha kote.

Stats on these are as follow:

Bandomusha Kote
DEF:21, HP+3%, Fire-5, Ice+5, Wind-5, Earth+5. Lightning-5, Water+5, Light-5, Dark+5, Attack+22, Evasion-10. Lvl73 MNK/SAMN/NIN.

The NM is moderately difficult, but with good strategy not so hard. He summons two undead near the beginning of the battle. If you kill these he will re-summon, so you aim towards either sleeping them, or as we did it, have a seperate thief/nin tank each until NM is dead. I happened to go on Ninja for this fight, and myself and another Ninja switch tanking back and forth after one of the other of us got charmed. When charmed, you aim to sleep the charmed PC. At one point I disconnected during the battle and apparently because of this I killed our black mage. ^^;; He did not drop Perseus Harpe, but dropped the BST hat that gives pets effect of meditate and the kote above. Lotted 763 and won them~ I probably wouldn't wear them that much in XP, but Soloing easy mobs the -10 evasion on ninja may not be too bad.

When we 1st ran into Xolotl in AC there was a Japanese player standing by watching us, when I asked him what Xolot dropped, he said that it had dropped a crystal the previous night. So I was not expecting much.

I believe we were the 1st ones on the Bismarck server to actually get the two drops (Perseus's Harpe, Zoolater Hat).

Here is a link to some great photos:
