A lower level friend exploring Misareaux sent me a freaked out tell saying an NM bat had just killed a blm and a thf and to hurry up and come kill it. I came out, and not knowing what level it was I summoned Amigo Sabotender...and the bat was eaten alive by it. Amigo was hitting for 300 regular attacks and the NM didn't last long enough for me to get a 1,000 Needles off. Dropped the cloak and mask and I haven't been able to sell the damned things yet. Nobody wants this junk anymore. Cloak was 3 million a month ago, now it's listed at around 600-700k on my server and there's usually 5-6 up on AH. I've lowered the price 3 times now and still no bites. Despite the enjoyment of watching a level 48 thf die trying to solo this, it was a waste of time and a hard to find jug.
I doubt you would want to sell the Vampire cloak (unless you have more than 1), but how much are Vampire cloaks going for? I heard around 1.5?
I Solo'ed this at 60RNG/NIN o.O Shadowbind > Shot a few times to get 100%TP > Slug Shot > Barrage > EES

I probably could have killed it with another Slug Shot.. but I've heard killing with WS kills drop didn't want to risk it ^^; Also I already had like 80ish TP when I started fighting :) It was probably daytime too..

You guys know this is 100% drop on Cloak? Also it drops vampire earring too if you were wondering.

Noticably stronger during nighttime, killed it as 75DRK/NIN and 75DRK/RDM, I ended up with ~120hp while my friend died. During daytime it's soloable with little to no effort at high 60s/low 70s.
Spams a move called "Soul Accretion" towards the end which drains one of your buffs, this includes Utsusemi, often two times back to back.
Other tp skills are Blood Drain (Single target HP drain) and Subsonics (AE Defense down).

Same but i was camping / farming in the area. Nobody was camping it but when i saw a 75 JP Bst to pop and stand anon around there i figured he new something i didnt... he did lol.

Just running by and saw on widescan while exploring didn't have a clue what it was so I decided to give it a go. Here's what happened @.@

Hahahahha the funny thing is that you CANT wear the Vamp. Cloak and Mask toghether.....Damn hoddies...

I've killed this guy the past 2 days in a row. Here's what I have so far.

21-24hr spawn time (23:15 hrs for me)
Spawns in the area around F-7
First time I killed him, he spawned at 11:00 am vanadiel time. I killed him pretty easily as a 65THF/32RNG. Sleep Bolts didn't work, and Bloody bolts didn't work. He took me to about 50% health.
Dropped:
Vampire Cloak
Vampire Mask
No money or EXP
Was not able to get any gil with Mug
2nd day he spawned at 23:00. Sneak attack from behind did 350 damage to start and didn't make a dent. Killed me in 5 hits. Called in the reinforments and 6 of us were able to kill him. 73 bard kept getting resisted when trying to sleep it.
Dropped:
Vampire Cloak
Vampire Boots
No money or EXP
Mug did not work again.

That would mean this guy's level is completely random? If you could kill him easy one day, then you got owned the next?

he drops vampire items look at the time of spawn easily killed during the day at 11:00 next spawn was 23:00 night time incredibly difficult. This guy is truly a vampire he is quite tough at night

I think they should make it a rare/ex item. 4 mil is crazy for it when drks have to spend millions already on gear as it is.
Then don't buy it.
Right now the price has dropped to 2 mil on Ramuh and I expect it to go even farther down if gilbuying DRK (or people with way too much money on their hands) would stop buying it. Its not worth even 500k if you can't exp with it. Take a look at the Venerer ring. Started out big in price, but its <100k on Ramuh now.
At that level, you should be saving for Balmung and Dusk Gear or Cursed gear instead.

yea i would have also liked to have seen it be Rare/EX, but the price is dropping and will continue to. The cloak is a 100% drop, so expect it to floor out at 1-200k or so.
However the poster above is a bit shortsighted, this cloak is amazing for everything else besides EXPing (and last time i checked EXP is maybe 10% of the total game). Especially since at 75 youre EXP time drops off very very sharply since you start doing everything else. You will only EXP occasionally for merits and more buffer EXP you lose doing Dynamis etc.

It's a 24H NM Bat that can be solo'd by a 65, Pop in area (F-8). I've Seen it pop twice in the same genral area (Near the entrince to that area).. Drop Vampire Cloak, Cloak is Going for 4mil on Gilga. It's a real shame that this and others are gonna be camped for the gil and not for the DRK that wants it.. Goodluck to who ever camps it and I hope this was at least helpfull =p.

I do not believe that it drops Root Sabots. They have been at the AH on Bismarck much longer than Upryi has existed. Upryi drops Vampire Mask and Vampire (feet) i think.
My friend gave me this info. If it pops at night, it is much stronger than it would be in the day. He easily beat it as a 75 pld in the day, but at night it apparently destroyed him. x.x

I killed many times during daytime and once nighttime. the important thing is when it pops it does not get stronger at night if it popped daytime or get weaker in day if it popped nighttime. I never saw earring drop in daytime but we are (Ravager(whm) and me(war)) 1/1 on nighttime :). it was a hard fight for a 75war/nin and 75whm/nin at nighttime so I reccomend you to go prepared for it if you are going 2-3 ppl. earring is 6.5m on Shiva server ^^
I'm on the same server as Koosjuh in the picture of the cloak. I've camped this many time and have indead seen it even killed it once. But in 2 weeks of being there almost everyday ive only seen it twice.
The reason you've only seen it twice in a week is because that is not it's only spawn point.

supposedly 24hr pop @F-8. A red single bat model, drops the new Vamipre *** equip.

I had heard this as well and have been camping this NM for about a week now ><; still not even seen it. Was wondering if anyone could varify this?
only "verification" i have is seeing some dozen ppl idle there a long time (and some of them sold vampire gear on AH) ... not much<.<
