1/2 on earring 2 camp i miss claimed a gaint with voke then claimed padfoot with chi-blast linked 2 sheep and 2 giants took 20 dmg in total at 75 >.> and yes gotta watch for asshats dragging a fake away to hold ToD back oh well sell split time, Nxt time its solo attempt and hope i get lucky again. Usually the one LS I'm in camps this against the GS (RMT). I've gone a few times now but I dun get to be in a spawn area alone yet. ^^; Still need a few more levels on WHM before I dare go without someone guarding my back.
My first time camping (where I was able to stay the entire time till it popped) I snagged the real one. =o The LS leader was nearby so he came over to rescue me after I cast Flash to claim it. Got the earring drop =D so that made my day.

Can a lvl 64 BLM solo this mob?
Yes i would assume with bind >> nuke >> sleep >> nuke >>> sleep>> etc trick would work just be careful of links and your -ga spells you should be fine may want to take a yag drink or two just incase but you should be able to take him out, just need to grab the right one ^^
Whilst they are soloable as a 64 BLM, I think they are fairly resistant to sleep. I had trouble landing sleep on them as a Dark (obviously) but a LS member also reported they struggled to land sleep as a BLM. I don't know if they capped skills though.

dude... that is not a theory. that is a fact. i've killed him 100+ times (like 300 times alltogether with LS kills) and i sue the 30 min spawn thinger everytime. the only time it doesn't work is if someone hides one from you and holds it back. gotta watch out for that :P

From thursday untill today, Monday, me and my LS have been killing Padfoot everyday. We got 4 real, with 4 Assailant's Ring, and today, even though we had 3 of 5 Paddys, someone else got the real one.
Today, we also checked if that 30 min intervall theory is correct. And it actually did pop exactly 30 min after window opened. But that might have been a coincidence.
so 4/5 on Assailant's Ring and 0/5 on Astral ;_;

I just got the ToD a week ago after I time of camping him maintnance poped up sigh and I could not get ToD again Sigh!

okay. since i have killed padfoot more then a lot fo people have, i have very accturate information. Padfoot is a level 50 mob (around 50 anyway but since he is a nm he is more powerful than an average level 50). He has a 21-24 hour spawn, he CAN spawn every half hour from the 21 hour mark including the 21 hour mark (7 possible spawn times in all). There are 5 spawns that are in different locations that spawn simutaniously. Four of the padfoots are "fakes". Only one of the padfoots allways drops either a assailants ring or an Astral earring. And the padfoot at which the item is dropped at is random. there is no pattern although it seems to me that when you sub thf you get the ring more (ring is worth 300k astral earring 5 mill on ragnarock, which would you prefer?) i have camped this nm from the week it came out to today (in and out fo course) so if you need any questions answered just ask >.>

In all honesty, i'd seriously doubt it, first of all to camp a regular mob that is level 50 as a lvl 53 rdm your looking at a Even Match to Very Tough which is somewhat difficult to pull off (depending on their attacks and what not) and given that it's an NM, it boosts it's power and toughness to that of a mob about 5-10 levels higher, so it would be the equivilant of taking on an IT as a rdm which isn't feasable. Although shÃt happens and you might get lucky. I just don't see it happening though.
Edit: I've talked to a few people in my LS about soloing it and they say that it is harder than the other sheeps there because of it being an NM but not as tough of an NM as you would think it would be. They said its a fairly easy fight since he doesn't really have any big power hitting techniques so, it would prolly be like you taking on a mob of a Tough - Very Tough as a 53 rdm. Hope this helps a bit. I'm pretty sure though, that if you had 1 more person to help you out, you shouldn't have any probs.

I have camped Padfoot a lot (and I mean a lot) and want to clear up some things on him that have been posted. He does indeed spawn at 5 locations at once. Only 1 will drop either an earring or ring and there is no pattern either (i.e. earring has dropped 3 days in a row before, then rings for a day or two). Also, whenever that one Padfoot drops the item, all other UNCLAIMED Padfoots will despawn. Best to camp in parties for this guy, day after day of lanolin cubes and sheepskin will drive you crazy.
Is anyone else noticing anything funny about these guy's spawn timer? For the last few days they've spawned on the hour from when he was killed. Example: All Padfoot spawns die at 5:00 PM on the dot and then at either 5, 6, or 7 the next day, they'll spawn. Is this just a coincidence?

More updates to him;
4 of the Padfoot are fake. the real Padfoot is at random for now.. I haven't camped him enough to notice any pattern of the real one. I can at least say that I've dealt with him enough that he drops either the Ring or Earring 100%. He drops it every other day. Ring one day, Earring next, Ring again, etc.

Yes Padfoot is a 21-24 hour spawn time. It spawns in 5 different places at the same time.

Killed the padfoot closest to the Valkurm Dunes zone 12 times, no drop.
Padfoot will spawn 21-24 hours (RL) after its last death. Therefore, it has a 3 hour window; and you need to know its ToD (Time of Death).

Padfoot spawns every 21-24 hours, in 4 locations AT ONCE, which is probably where all the confusion comes from. (F-6) (H-9) (I-9) (K-9)
