General Information

  • Multiple spawn points in the northern regions of Al'Taieu.

  • Rather than attacking an individual when aggroed, they will simply follow the aggroed player for a period of time before moving away.

    • Will not attack an individual if spells or job abilities that do not inflict damage are used on it, though if attacked or if a spell or job ability is used that does inflict damage, it will attack back.

    • Even though they aren't attacking the player, a Summoner's avatars will still consider it an aggressive act, and will auto-attack.

  • At certain periods of time, they will go from a closed mouth position to an open mouth position. At this time, their attack power increases drastically, but their defense decreases by an equal percentage. A large amount of damage inflicted upon it with its mouth open will cause it to close again.

Om'hpemde Special Attacks

  • Temporal Shift: AoE Stun effect.

  • Ichor Stream: Frontal cone AoE Water based magic damage with an additioanl Poison effect.

  • Sinuate Rush: AoE physical damage.

  • Rapid Molt: Self target full debuff removal and Regeneration effect.

  • Tail Thrust: Single target physical damage with an additional Paralysis effect.

urm.. its not only weak to magic...

when the "mouth is open" they are weak to any form of dmg...

rdm fire 3 did 950~

garuda predator claw did 2997~

carby hit increases dmg also

so how i farm these is to use carby to melee it till it opens its mouth n use garuda to kill it with predator claw....

oh n it will "shut" its mouth after certain time.. so u really want this guy to "speak up" abit more....

These things are WEIRD. They will not attack you no matter what unless you directly attack them (melee, nuke, DoT status). You can provoke, paralyze, sleep, slow, blind, bind, gravity these and they will not fight back unless you somehow damage their HP.

It's too bad these guys don't have MP that you can Aspir. They would be great sources of MP when killing other mobs in the area.

What's really sad is that you can't charm these.

Or anything else in sea for that matter.

my CoP static was going Mission 8-1. We were clearing out the area for the 3 NM, so we had to kill a few of these.

There were 2 times where Fire IV did a LOT more damage than I expected. One time it did ~1870 of damage, another time it did ~1930. Fire IV usually do ~950. It was Darksday and there was no weather icon.

The current theory is:

when these guys have their "mouths" open, they are extrememly weak to magic (espcially fire).

I have also seen a smn75 cast Flame Crush for over 4k of damage. That was the most damage I've ever seen in this game done in a single "blow". (I've read that a fully upgraded relic scythe can do more damage).
