Yeah, 3 days camping. 2.5 in the wrong spot. I hate Vomp Hill. It popped for me in I-8 for those curious

I camped him for like 30 minutes, droped GK only. The GK seems to be 100% droprate. And for those who havent even seen him on widescan, you know you cant see the lower/higher level of the mointain. You can only scan the level you actually are. so you might missed the NM while other player killed.

Went to camp this NM for 20 minutes. Used Bard75/Rng5. Started from the top level, used Requiem VI and V to train and kill the sheeps without using weapons. This way can save you tons of times. Run between top level and second level, keep requiem on all sheeps you can find. The NM poped on my 3rd run. Dropped the Great Katana. I believe Bio will work the same way as Requiem did. Hope this helps. :)

This ******* is getting on my nerves. I've been camping him for nearly 6 hours and not even SEEN him on Wide Scan.

Ok, I just got my Katayama Ichimonji Today, and i'm going to share everything that I know about it.
First off, getting to the NM.
Carnero is easy enough to get to, being in South Gustaburg on the second level of Vamp hill. As of all of the other posts i've read, he seems to only pop on the second level. I camped him for well over 30 minutes, however, as 43monk with Ranger subbed for Widescan. Widescan is helpful when there aren't many other campers, because it allows you to cover the entire I-9 I-8 range for Carnero's spawn. Although many believe it to be a 30 minute respawn, I feel that it is most definately a lottery pop, 30 minutes - 1 hour plus. I was there for at least an hour searching for mine, and I don't see that anyone else could have killed it, unless they were very lucky and it spawned right in front of them, and they were strong enough to kill it in a few hits :P When I got there, there was a 75Rdm/Nin and a 54Pld/War, both hunting for the NM. The Rdm and I were both hunting Ornery Sheep in the "intersection" of paths, lower I-9, second level of Vamp. We chatted abit, but then he went to the center of the path and didn't move, or attack any other mobs. The Paladin drifted off somewhere, didn't see him leave, and I continued to kill everything. After 45 minutes, the Rdm D/Ced, and I screamed like a little fat kid eating cupcakes. He never came back on, and I constantly checked widescan for Carnero. After about the 70th check, lol, I see his name on widescan, > Track > Run > Attack! I got him with no competition around. He died before I was able to fire off a Raging Fists lol. I was exstatic when I saw the item's name on my screen. Carnero popped at 9:53, in the top portion of I-9, right where other Ornery sheep spawned. The sword itself is very nice, incredible. Luckily, my Samurai job is level 10, so I ran into my mog house to equip it, and it is lovely^ ^ The stats are Lv. 10 Samurai, DMG: 28 450 Delay STR+1 DEX+1 I think i'm going to have to level Samurai now lol. I also have two pictures of my character with Katayama Ichimonji equipped, one a fashion shot, one of it in action wooping an easy prey turtle's ***, its very cool. Oh and one more thing, Fresh Bloo.d is too pop Chocoboleech in dangruf wadi, look fo a ??? around the ponds where wadi leeches pop, trade the Fresh Bloo.d and kill him, a Katana called 'Gassan' will drop: Stats: LV.15 Katana Delay:227 DMG12 AGI+1, I killed this leech in 5 hits with 65WAR. It is Rare/ex also.... ^^ Hope that helps yea

This is impossible!! I spent 2 hours camping this thing as a 30BLM/RNG, RNG for WideScan, and I would just grab all the sheep in a train on all 3 levels and kill iwth -ga spells. Then they would respawn and I would kill again and I never saw Carnero on my WideScan at all!! Please if anyone is on Quetzalcoatl server /tell Mythical and help me out please =(

Ok, just a little compilation of info from what i've gathered on this NM, not like it's the most important NM there is :P but i'll shed some light on it for those of you who are itching to get this katana as well.

I believe the placeholders are the two sheep on top of the hill. I saw two pops of the sheep on the second level within an hour of being there. most people have been saying they kill the sheep on the second level for hours with no pop. myself and the other camper were killing sheep on top as well. Therefore i think the PH is on top of the hill. As for the great katana, i'm quite sure it is 100% drop rate, or close to it, because i have yet to see someone kill it with no drop, even without thief subjob. hope this helps all of you lookin for this sheep ^-^b

Just owned this thing. Be sure that you're on the second level of Vomp Hill and at (I-8) or (I-9). I don't know what level to go at it, but I took it down with absolutely no problems whatsoever at 27 (only lost about 3 hp), even after drawing a gob with Banishga. Hope that helps a bit.

Now for the hard part: unlocking SAM.

EDIT: I don't know for sure if you have to kill sheep to get this to pop. I just ran up to the hill and happened to see this one as I moved around, so it may either just be a regular pop, or I accidentally jacked it from someone else. If the latter's the case, sorry about that to whoever it was; wasn't on purpose.

I'm positive it's a 100% drop, seeing as how I was a war/rng(widescan purposes) at the time and everyone else reports that they are 1/1 with the drop.

hehe drops a nice sam blade, pity Im past that level now ; ;

What's the lowest level you can take this thing down at?
