Vana'diel Bestiary: Bendigeit Vran  

Saw it was 0% New Moon and remembered there was an alt to Haty (which I've failed to camp Haty). Decided to change to 18WAR/9MNK, tele'd to North Gustaberg, ran to Highlands. Started looking for him in G-8 but ended up in G-7. Found him standing off the roadway, unclaimed, killed him and got the drop. (G-7) Firesday 18:00 New Moon 0%.

Took me three hours, but I got him.

I marked out the areas he spawned according to Wiki and ran around inside that parameter.

The locations from Wiki:
(G-6)/(H-6)/(I-6)/(F-7)/(H-7)/(I-7)/(H-8)/(I-8)/(F-8)/(G-8)/(J-8)/(J-9)/(K-7)/ (E-8)/(F-6).

I found him at (I-8) 0% New Moon. Not sure what time... Wasn't long past 20:00, I know that.

Area G9. Firesday @22:25 0% New Moon

popped between 17:00-17:15, 0% new moon (I left the crag at 17:00 on a bird, spamming widescan). found him in H-8, all the way south up against the mountain. wewt somethin to pull with on dnc.

Killed this guy at I-8 SE of crag New Moon 10%. Second night of New Moon.
75 BST widescan wasn't enough to see him at telepoint.

Was camping this guy, Rampaging Ram, and Viking Shield NM while I was there. Went down to kill a tremor ram at around 19:00 and saw the NM there (on WS). Luckily I was going for the tremor ram too otherwise I woulda missed it ;x

New Moon (2%) top of H-6. Easy fight, good drop.

was on whm to tele saw this on choco killed as 39whm stoneskin blink 1 hit through bliunk 0 dmg. too weak i even had gimp club lvl. got drop lvl 15 rare/ex chakramoh yeah i was naked too

very easy fight

As I sit here and read through all these posts, my story is very similar to most. LoL

I was hunting tremor rams with my 30war/15rng, and pick up this guy on WideScan in G-7 @ 2350 on a 10% moon. I have hunted him before, just to add him to my total, but thought he only spawned by Crag. That's definitly not true. Anyways, got the drop. I'll use it when leveling my thf and nin.

i didnt even realize it was him. it looked like just a normal person at first then i looked at his name and checked him. he took a little bit on my NIN18/WAR but i still got him and the item is great

Found him at the east side of G5 on a new moon (2%) a bit before 18:00. As easy as you'd expect with 50RDM/1RNG :) He managed to hit me once during the fight for 5pts of damage.

Well I got this a long time ago back when I levelled thf, but tossed it after I hit 37 and moved on. However, I started nin up and wanted it again for nin so back I would go. I happened to work during full moon, so I waited a day or two, then new moon was up. I got my Tele-Dem and headed out there as DRK/RNG, spamming WS in his pop area.

Nothing for 5 minutes... 10 minutes.. 15... 20...

Finally I see him on WS and haul ass over to him, and... he's claimed. At a sliver of health, being dragged around the map by some anon guy wearing no gear. So, I do what anyone who gets pissed at someone showing off does.

I sat there and spammed Stun on him.

After like 20 seconds, the guy must have gotten too far away, cause he turned yellow. Stun went off, then he was red. One smack later, and bam dropped, of course. The guy started whining about how he was holding it for a friend, etc.

I told him maybe he shouldn't run away from it then and just tank it if he wanted to keep hate. And also that his friend should have been there camping too if he really needed it. And that I wished them the best of luck tomorrow night, since I wouldn't be back.

Ok first of all ive camped this AND its counterpart Haty, for 4, yes 4 characters.. heres my most recent experience.

well me and my fiance are currently lvling BLU, so i figure this thing will be really useful for both of us (thank you update for letting BLU wear chakrams), so i wait til full moon and begin my hunt of Haty..
first of all, all i can say that these 2 NMs are a complete bitch!!! the amount of times ive seen these get claimed by just a curious idiot and killed then they say "oh, this is crap" and drop it, well lets just say my stress lvls jumps a few lvls on these NMS >.>
anyay yes Haty, 6 nights in a row, i found it... most of the time just NW of the crag.. ALWAYS just being killed or just killed by a random rng / lvl20ish -.-
finally on the 7th night, im there at 7:25pm vana time, and see it pop on my WS just to the west of the crag, i get it and kill it.. theres my Rogetsurin!
unfortunately that was the last night of full moon.. so i have to wait to get my fiances ; ;

anywayz, i wait 2 days check on mithrapride.org and find its new moon... crap last night aswell ; ;
i logon to my fiances character in aht urghan, get a tele and jump on choco to begin the hunt.. now its getting on towards 7pm vana time so im kinda worried its already popped >.> so i start at the crag and haul my butt west, im chocoing and widescanning at the same time.. and i just get to the bottom part of G-7 when i see it on widescan. its miles away >< popped roughly at the top of G-6 -.- so im hauling butt there... i see it and press ctrl+A (attack) as soon as i do a curious RNG (asshat) pops outta nowhere with daggers drawn luckily i attacked it as i dismouted haha, and claimed it with no voke or anything...
i proceed to kill it.. while the RNG slaps me -.- Rogetsurin is now my fiances too :)

Defeated him as 33THF and only got hit once for 10hp.

I found him just before he crossed from K-6 into J-6 at 21:00 on Darksday, New Moon 2%. Rogetsurin dropped, of course.

I was running out there as RNG35 to do tactics pearl with friend and saw this shadow near the crag, no one was running for him so i decided to kill him. Was pretty fun because I didnt even want the drop >.> never really expected to kill this nm anyways lol it would seem people would be killing him alot. Right after i killed him someone ran over to where i was with widescan ^^. Oh well :D

Camped out for it since new moon phase started and no luck untill it was 2% new moon dark day found it arround 1am F-8 G-8 (probably spawned a lot more earlier) it was claimed by someones sheep and i was frustrated because i camped Haty 2 days before and no luck at all so i followed it because BST was elswhere. finaly the sheep died and i was happy like a little baby, finally it will be mine :P and i killed it no problem with my 30rdm/8rng lost like 50hp at most . Wide scan really helps. anyway goodluck to all who want this weapon

Found him running on south of crag just like Forgottenspirit said. Yay for me 8)

His name makes me chuckle, apparently. Boring night is boring~

I apologize for this post being (probably) in the wrong place, but I noticed that several of you have mentioned using widescan in this thread. Can someone please explain what that is? I've searched for it but can't find what it means. Thanks!

After a trip to Al Zahbi I decided to check this guy out or maybe Haty, whoever came first. I arrived late and because of the way he spawns I also were doing some adv job quests for my sons character (himself being very busy with school for a week or so) in between.
Anyway, second night, that he could possibly spawn, I am there and start searching. Then I see one of those big rams and think: "Sweet, I'll get some horns and stuff." I run up, provokes, being MNK/WAR, and after a few hits I realise this is one of those ram-NMs involved in a quest. I almost took him with hundred fist, maybe if I had been quicker, and a few WS's, but eventually I end up at my HP. In Jeuno, thank God, not in Whitegate or Nashmau, puh.
This is gonna take a while, I thought, got my son 3 new jobs and between one of those quests, waiting for a game-day to pass, I see once again that it is new moon.
I switch account and log in. I'm next too the chocoboo-guy so I hop up on a chocoboo, turn around to start running around and there he is standing next to me: Mr Bendigeit Vran. Nice.
Now I can continue with NIN, and drop the boomerang I had before.

Spawned at J-6. I saw him on RNG-dar at 19:30 so it's possible he spawned slightly before then.
Absolutely pwnd him as WHM70/RNG19.

Pissed me off. I logged in and he was right there. Got aggro as 14SAM and I got wasted. ><

Yea, I saw him today right as a got a Tele from windurst. I had my Lvl 12 War on so I had no chance of beating him. Luckly I followed him(suprsingly no one claimed) and had some of my LS buddies come out here and beat him to death. Got the drop and I was happy. Plus got my rare/ex katana too(chocoboleech in Dangruf Wadi) ^^ before I went to the dunes.

randomly checked /clock on my way to mining, and i see a 2% new moon.

Think "ooo i need that throwing thingy for my ninja" so i go bck to jeuno, sub rng and get on choco, found him at G-11 at about midnight game time.

Damn nice weapon for early nin ^^
