Vana'diel Bestiary: Serra  

Was using the beach here to EXP on my BST (39BST/19NIN), this guy popped so I set a Toucan on it, and it was a lot tougher than I expected. Ended up with me using every single monster on the beach (apart from the monkeys) to throw at this guy, even the Uragnite were taking ~110 per hit.

Doesn't link with the other fish, so was basically dragging it from one end to the other, pretty sure that a mischarm would be disaster at this level.

Took about 20 minutes of constant pets to eventually gain 200 exp. That is all ; ;

I was bored and had never been to the Isle so I looked up NMs on the isle. Came across this one. Killed PHs for about 3 hours, Serra popped. Destoryed it as 68DRK/34THF. Dropped only the greaves. yay 1/1. :P Only goes for about 35k-40 on my server (Fenrir).

(-_-) camped this thing for about hmmmm....7hours now total (yesterday for about 4hours, just hit hour number 3today). Nothing yet, I'm killing every Jagil in sight. Cannot get it to spawn. any ideas??

Okay,check this out.Well,I am a 60WHM and I've been leveling DRG recently. I just got to lv.40 today. Looking around the A.H. and I see these boots. So I check alla to see what's up with them and how I can get a pair. I read through all the postings and seen that a 75WHM had trouble with Serra. I was kind of discouraged after I read that,but not enough to make me not try to solo the N.M.XD I headed right over to Bibiki Bay to see if I could best her. I brought along my npc because I already knew if I tried it on my own I would not succeed.(not enough damage)I got RR2 up and P3 and S3 up. I casted Ice Spikes for Paralyze. I even casted stoneskin a few times throughout the fight but realized very soon that if I continued I would run out of MP. I let Serra take my HP down to around 200 and used Divine Seal+Cure4.Then I let her do it again and this time I 2hr'd.Keep in mind I was using Flash to keep hate on me because my npc is only level 37. My npc was set Fierce Attacker. Well,anyway,I beat Serra and unfortunately didn't get the drop,but I beat Serra :). I was so happy,60WHM/30BLM FTW!

farming U Shells, figured i'd look up some info on Isle to see if any NM's are here, found out about this one, so killed the PH's and Uragnites for about 1hr, Serra pops, did Slug shot for 1.8k, took off maybe 20%, did barrage, took off 1.2k, did Slug again, same damage roughly, took her down to about 5%, didn't take much to finish her off, no drop. this is a nice place though, farming for U shells and killing this NM, could make alot of gilz doing this if all goes well...shells drop maybe 1/10, but i'm /nin, i shoulda went /thf, or /sam even to help get free TP, cause i kill the Uragnites w/ just slug. oh well, i'll be here for awhile doing it again.

this Pug is annoying, I was out Farming U Shells with my LS mate and we come across this bugger while healing, I was DRG/THF and She was i think DRG/WHM and we was kicking its Striped ass, untill it hit her hard and fast quickly killing and De-levelng her, when that happened we got it down to about i'd say 30% then After she died, I called out Firewing, he was down to 20% and i was down in the red at about 100hp, thats when i bust out the Spirit Surge, and i got him down to 3% before it killed me off, Me and Dantai are going off for round two later >=) hehe

Camped Serra a few times and caught her, with the unfortunate no drop. I really want these greaves but my THF is horribly trained and I'm just not up to getting TH2. Anyone on Pandemonium send me a /tell and help me out? ^_^

I'm raising Dragoon, so I decided to after this NM as a RDM/BLM Lv.60. Fight was simple, the Coral Uragnites on the beach caused more damage to me thanks to their poison.

Couple of pointers to those attempting to camp.

- Pretty good guess that Serra is between levels 48-50 based on the 26 exp I got after killing her.

- Does not aggro to healing

- Pretty much just another Jagil with a lot more HP

- There are Jagils all over the beach, I found Serra hiding behind a rock after about three hours of camping. So be sure to look all over the beach if you think she is not popping.

- Not quite sure how sucky the drop rate is. Got the Greaves on my first kill. But based on some other posts here, sounds like I got lucky.

This guy is easy to kill, leave your character on for 3-6 hours and do something productive, if your over lv 60 nothing will aggro, and if you see she wasn't killed, if chatfilters stay down, then kill PHs and she will pop quickly, than standing there dumb founded for 10 hours

Killed place holders for a couple hrs. last night, no pop, I gave up (this place is empty so I was only one)

Got on this morning, popped after just a few kills, started to fight it as a 58 THF/RNG, wasn't hitting too hard, but had way too many HP (4000 +) had to flee and warp out. (didn't have any bolts but sleep)

Got to Jeuno, bought a better xbow, and all types of boltheads, went back, was still there, killed in a couple min. now (slug shot did 300+ now instead of 100) just filled TP with Bloody Bolts then switched to Venom for SS, put acid and blinds in occasionally too. No drop.

Logged out for a couple hrs. it popped in about 1 or so, same fight as before, got the drop.

Gave 26 exp. both times. (not sure what the new table is, but that should give a good idea of its level)

To the 51 SAM, you're probably gonna have a really hard time killing it if you can.

this nm isnt that bad camped him for maybe 25 minutes no one else on the whole island killed every pugil as soon as they spawned. Serra hit me maybe 5 times outa all his swings Monk68/Thief33 and he dropped for me. good luck everyone!

ok ive solod Serra last nite as a 52drg/26rdm
yes its soloable for us at this lvl.
ok well im frickin 0/7 with her y can i get the drop??? ive had a lvl 73 thf help me no drop, a 63 smn no drop, did it with Yogtheterrible like4 times no drop...WTF...its pissin me off and i think SE changed the spawn time to 3hrs bc i killed it once waited 2hrs (killed her at 12 went back at 2) an she didnt pop till like 3....i really want these so what if they look like crap once i get the wyvern mail it will start lookin better lol...if someone on hades would b so kind to send me a pair if you really dont need it i want it so i can wear it not sell it. i would never sell them these r great for DRGs jump Acc....please someone help me out.

i have camped Serra as my 70DRK/35THF its no problem to kill.
1 to 2 hour lottery spawn from killing other Jagils. Im 0/3 on this NM but it drops Volans Greaves there Dragoon only foot armor +4 acc. to jump ability. i believe there lvl 38. These boots have sold about 6 times on Bahamut server for 500K+ i assume ppl sell them off AH since not many have been listed as sold.

3 days ago I went to camp this, as 60drg/rdm. I was able to keep killing placeholders nonstop, they were very weak. Serra poped within 30 minutes all the way on the south end where the kraken is. after that it took me 3 hours to pop it again. it poped in the same spot. no drops from those kills. at Lv60 I got 20exp each time.
I came back late last night and was able to pop it in about 20 minutes, maybe even less (spawned in the middle of the beach this time) Killed it and got the drop. From what people are saying hear, I guess im lucky to get it on the 3rd kill. The fact that there was absolutely no competition (other than two people sitting and watching the waves :) really helped.
For a long time the only ones on AH on Ramuh were people afew people selling it to themselves for 1gil or so. 1 person I asked that had it wanted 400k. Just recently one went up and went unsold for afew days, than the seller baught it from himself for 1mil. When I checked again late last nite, someone baought it from him for 700k. That was the first one sold on ah from 1 person to another. I think the price is kinda insane. Its not hard to pop, or kill. That guy got away w/ murder, and I'm now tempted to sell them now. I kinda just wanted them as a novelty for 40 and 50 cap events, but for that much money I can do w/o them ^^

Got the drop yesterday and am now camping her again to give the boots to a firend of mine. Only one other camper nthere with me, and it's quite a nice place to hang so i'll likely do this for awhile. ^.~ 1/3 as of now. 55DRG/20WHM. For me she's spawned twice in the far right corner (looking at the beach), twice the far left corner, and trice in the missle of it, slightly on the beach. (I think the two in the middle might have been different spawns, but still same area, one was more to the left.) Got half the claims while i've been there, so that's quite good.

About a 1-3 hour lottery pop, i'd say, but I can't be sure; alot of times I went afk for a few hours after getting claim, when there's no other campers there.

If you're a DRG/Mage around the 50-55 l;evel then be careful. One time I paniced and claimed, but very nearly died due to lack of mp. Another time I nearly did the same but there were no other campers so I remembered to rest; if I hadn't I would have died.

I get 33 experience points off Serra at level 55; maybe level 51-52?

Just got these for my fiance, we were 1/4 on them. It is def a 2 hour spawn with multiple spawn points. i would say mob is high 40's low 50's. we are fighting as 58 whm/smn and 58 blm/whm. took us a while to kill, does not hit hard but had a but load of hp, and we get 15xp from him. on one kill we had a 57sam friend with us and it was 13xp.

1 hour lottery my ass. I been here for 5 hrs now and no pop. and might i add i am now 0/16

0/5. And so is this other DRG I was talking to while camping.

Only sale I've seen on Lakshmi was a self-buy for 1 gil, and only once have I seen someone wearing this on our server.


I want these boots so bad. I will find them keep them and name them Fluffy. And I will never sell them and they will be my precious... o.o;;

...AKA, If you camp this and you're not a DRG while I'm camping it, I will eat you, and then my wyvern will sell your gil. >=P Drgonryyesplz.

...But I digress. You really didn't hear that from me, honest....=D

I must say drop rate sucks really bad cuz i'm now 1/16 -.-

is 1-3hrs pop to what ive seen. went as nin/war was like 1/7 prolly thf sub or a thf job helps more with drop or then again am just unlucky =X

Me and my level 60 drk friend camped this thing a good 2 hours before it spawned. We killed it, but it took alot to bring it down, i'm guessin' it's around level 50-52? But that's a guess.
We didn't get the drop, and i've heard from others that it's not the best drop rate ever.
0/1...I'll fight it again soon.
