If you plan on sleeping it when it uses hundred fists, be sure to put away your fellowship companion first. Soul Voice Paeons kept me alive through it, but barely.
funniest battle ive seen

Finally hit 75MNK/WAR the other day and decided to do a little adventuring and kill some random nms for the heck of it and since i was in altepa at the time i thought i would take on ol celphie. I started killing Desert Dhalmels and about an hr later she spawned and i started to pummel the poor thing down, after my first round she popped her 2hr and i just had to stop, if you havent seen a dhalmel do hundred fists then go fight her now :) i had to unlock and turn around just to watch her finish flailing around before i killed her. Dead before i got 100% tp and no drop =/ well worth the laugh though ^^

Found this one last night. I was there leveling 48 BST when I see it. I grabbed a Dhalmal and sent it fighting. At about 50% health, it used Mighty Strikes and quickly brought my pet to 25%. After it was dead, I grabbed another which linked with the NM. 2nd took down the NM with only a few HP being regened from the NM. All in all was about a 4 minute fight and got whistle to drop.
d'oh...

Went out hunting her as a 70brd/whm. Fight started off fine, watched her do her two-hour for a moment just for giggles, then slept her.

And that's where it all went down-hill.

As a bard with uncapped sword skill I couldn't do enough damage to out-do her auto-regen. I'd hit her for 40, she'd regen back to full. I ended up having to sleep her for half an hour until I could get someone else to come out and help me kill her >_<

Not my best in-game memory, though I'm sure my LS will never let me forget it xP

Hello there guys, I used this forum as research just to make sure I could kill the NM. Truth is, this NM is just as easy as its PH's. YOU CAN SLEEP IT DURING HUNDRED FISTS lol. I destroyed this as 61thf. Took 3 hours to pop. Fight went as follows, Sneak attack, had tp so Dancing Edge, Celphie 2hrs, Meri > sleep bolt, Celphie wakes, Meri > sleep bolt, 2hr wears, tp up and dancing edge again for the kill and the Drop. If anyone is worried about this NM being difficult, dont be, its easy as hell :D. The NM spawns where the other posts say, near i-7, there are about 5 dhalmels all around the area, they are all PH's. Hope this clears anything up for you guys. Good hunting.
i think this thing is like 48 to 50

i killed this guy in a pt of 6 all at 43. Got the drop but i was out lotted. Im comin back later as a high lvl thief to boost Trick attack.
This guy uses a thousand fists which is hilarious to watch when a dahalmal does it. If you havent seen it I highly recomend it.

Does it have a placeholder or is it simply on a timer with no placeholder?

Wanted to see a new face, and I like collecting weird items so I camped this NM.

Is virtually uncamped on my server. Popped in a short while and as somebody said below me with the exception of having hundred fists, is seemingly weaker than the desert dhalmel placeholders o.O?

1/1 on drop, lol.

Seeing this thing 2hr is freaking hilarious, it looks like it's rocking out.

Item itself seems a little useful for a pure, total evasion NIN.

Came across this NM while running thru West Altepa as my 62PLD, and immediately came to Alla to check the level. Saw a post where a 62THF said it wasn't that tough and decided to give it a go.

I was hitting her consistently for 70-90, and about 1/3 of the way thru the fight she used Berserk, which didn't really help her but allowed me to hit for 100-110 damage. Even with Berserk on, she was only hitting me for 22-25. At half health she used Hundred Fists, which, as everyone else is saying, looks hilarious. As soon as she really got going I used Flash, and she couldn't hit me. Got in a couple more swings, and used Vorpal Blade for 541 damage, which ended the fight. Never really noticed her Auto-Regen effect. XD

All in all, the fight only took as long as it took me to get TP. Got 23exp, a slice of dhalmel meat, and a giant femur. No drop, but the fight was easy- used a Cure III after the fight, that was it. She almost seemed easier to kill than the other dhalmels in the area.

I haven't really heard of this NM till a LS buddy came across it in desert. The Dhalmel Whistle sounded nice for NIN and RNG so i thought i'd bring my THF over to give it a shot.

I got the time of when they fought it and i totally forgot, so i went to the area and didn't seem like anyone was camping - but it took a good 4 hours till i finally got Celphie. She does pop at I-7 as lottery of Dhalmel, i'm guessing it spawns anywhere from between 2-4 hours, the area she pops in can be hard to track of without wide scan, or worrying about anyone going by and goin "Ooooh look and NM".

The fight isn't really tough for a 62THF, i had bloody bolts with me, her Hundred Fists was hilarious though. Everytime she actually hit me did about 40ish damage. And i did notice a decent HP regen i was trying to save TP to finish her off but i did notice her HP Regen a bit, so i hope you got productive damage, and if this helps for anyone soloing - i say biggest threat is links, Hundred fists, and HP Regen - other than that easy fight... and /sigh no drop =\

Celphie was a fun kill. ^^ I couldn't tell if the drop was 100% or not, the first time I camped it someone else got the claim, and the drop. 2 hours later it respawned, and I got the drop.
It was awesome having a little extra to pimp out my NIN for those subjob levels.

I went to kill this as a BLM42 with a SAM57 buddy. He recieved 17exp, but no drop. It used Hundred Fists when it was at 75% hp, looked very funny. ^^ I can say that it for sure doesn't agro, as my pt was going up to it, poking it, taking pictures, whatever. I was following it around, ready to claim and kite it if my friend was going to be beat to it. It spawned near very close to Revolution Rock.

I'd guess maybe level 45. I was leveling my npc with my bst and I had an uncapped (meaning always equal to my level) jug pet out, and it was hitting the dhalmel for 225-280 damage regular hits, my level 34 NPC was hitting it for 30-50 (she uses a great axe) and got in a critical for 89 damage. I didn't even get a chance to use a weaponskill.

Didn't drop collar. =/

Edit #1: I have killed it/seen it three times today now. At around 7am, 9am and 11am. A JP Thf beat me to claim third time. Seems to be a 2 hour, on the dot, respawn. Still no collar.

Edit #2: Had to log off after third sighting, but went back this evening and camped for close to 3 hours without seeking it again. Guess it's not a 2 hour-on-the-dot respawn. =/

Killed it easily as a 75rdm/rng (lol). Put up Phalanx and went at it. Maybe hit me 4-5 times total, including his 2hr, Hundred Fists. Maybe around lvl50?

Oooh, that whistle would be VERY nice for a Ninja.. The only problem would be getting another, unless they're cheap. Haven't checked, though.
