i remember when this guy was in that event, i was walkin back home to bastok after lvling mnk in valk, walkin walkin walkin all the sudden i hear the boom boom boom that the big creatures make when they walk, i thought "theres no mobs like that in south gustaberg..." turn around and bam... sent to my hp in jueno... i was so mad cuz i didnt have my airship pass then >.<
Well, I was fighting this little bugger in East sarutabaruta on my mule(level 6 WAR with scythe)...I could hardly scratch it, but I got about 1/8 of its' health before I got to my Home Point. ^^;
Which, by the way, if you're going to solo it, I suggest finding a corner so you're only delayed a few seconds in attacking, as opposed to having to keep running back. ^_^
I fought it yesterday on my Mule, a Level 3 WAR with a scythe. No one was helping me, Besides some other lowbies, And NO ONE gOT WARPED untill after about 100 Knockbacks, Overall it too about 2 hours to beat with just us and the occasional Passerby.
I know this is a little off topic, but once I get a screen shot of this mob, how do I post it so it shows at the top of the screen on this page? Also when you click submit screen shot on the home page, it gives you an e-mail address to send stuff to and then they say something to the effect, "Include name, linkshell, server if you wish to be credited. Please no images with the UI showing or images that are too dark to see what is going on in the screenshot. Thank you."
what does UI mean? I've never heard that one before.
if u get warped by it in Rolanberry u get taken to San'doria. if u get warped by it in Sauromugue its will take u to Windurst. if u get warped by it in Battalia u get taken to Bastok.
How it warps you is *various* what i mean is you can be any where and it will warp you anywhere. From bastok, sandy, windy, and jueno.So yea its various.

I walked outside of Bastok Markets and I see this thing been taken out by this group. I decided it not to attack it just quite jet since I already done so in the past like 10 times already and every time I time I hit it, it would kick me all the way to Port Bastok. So im standing there, and in less than a minute Toro sended every one in that group fling. Players keep coming in and going out. When is see that Toro has less 1/6 HP left I joined, shoot it one time it did 300+ damage, it hit me back but I dint go fling, so I went for the kill and did EE for almost 2K damage. So the thing died, it dint get a chance to hit me back and as I’m watching the body collapse right in front of me…………………I got kicked all the way to Port Jeuno. The thing got its revenge after it die and I dint get a chance to check the??? ……………………….
Is there a way that you can get the toro to hit you without making you warp? Just wanted to know so I could train him close to zones for easier fighting.
Also, once I get a screen shot of this guy, how do I post it on this website? can someone please explain this to me?
i tryed to get my pet warped but he woundent go after him so i joined in the fight. i was doing 0 damage my pet was doing 30+ damge still liked me more. got warped after the fouth hit. just wanted to put my two since in g2g at work
I know steal, provoke, and shadowbind work. I've seen some people cast blind and other debuffs and it seems to work, provided you do not damage him you're fine
ganked and cross posted from my post in Blitz Buffalo news thread
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got both sashes and promptly threw my 'Red Sash' (dropped from normal Toro), it's pointless if you get the 'Dash Sash' which is dropped by Miura, which seems to spawn as a lottery spawn in place of the normal Toro bull. It also seems that Miura will spawn in the 3 zones connected to Jeuno, Battalia Downs, Rolanberry Fields and Sarmongue Campaign at the same time. I got Bullwarped from Rolanberry Fields to Sandy and came back via warp cudgel to find it dead. Fortunately someone whom I helped get the bull in Rolanberry fields told me that there was another in Battalia Downs. I found it and pulled it back to Jeuno and dispatched it with the help I shouted for just inside Jeuno on the first Bullcharge.
Incidentally, any non damaging attack is good for pulling it. I use shadowbind. Ive seen a THF steal from it, to pull it. I've had Toros charge me from almost Pashow Marhslands right upto the gates of Jeuno. If you damage it, it will eventually Bullwarp you you. It seems the more hate/damage you draw/do the more likely it is you'll get bullwarped to the outer cities.
Standing on the zone line is the best trick as previously stated. The zone will trigger before the 'Bullwarp' will. The WAR and WAR subs have a great deal of fun being human ping-pong balls whilst everyone else unloads for the zone line. The point to stress here is DO NOT damage the bull (Toro or Miura). You do not get Bullwarped if you do not damage them. NON DAMAGING ATTACKS, for all hate holders/pullers.
Killing it, from the zoneline, is easy, anything with range is great, BLM's and RNG's have a field day with big hits. SMN's and BST's have an equally good time. Melees... sorry fellas, just sub or main WAR and become 'the ball'..:) Voke to your hearts content.
Anyone is free to hit it. No matter whom the current claimer is. Pink, red, yellow, no matter, you can attack it. Mind you, if it's red to you, you have successfully landed an attack, which means that if it gets far enough down its ********* it will charge you. If you have damaged it, you better be on the zoneline, otherwise you're likely to be taking a holiday. If you didn't damage it, it will still charge you, but not warp you.
No spell or skill will bind it. Which makes sense given its abilities.
An amusing event, well worth the trouble if you need the item/s.
What's also fun is the bull attack effectively gives you about half Chocobo speed. People following me had trouble keeping up with me and the bull as I led it across Rolanberry fields.
Oh... and Bullwarp is a great way to get to the outer cities..:P Shame about the randomness. Shame this event wont be a permanent fixture. Beats deathwarping and Airships..:P
I don't believe that the whole NON-damaging attacks and not getting warped works. I casted stun on the toro and started running towards the zone to fight him there. Stun spell is non-damage dealing and I also had my back turned to the toro, and I still got bull warped.
try a special ability or a de-buff like blind perhaps
shadowbind, steal and provoke work.
remember this guy does no damage to you so you can sub whichever job you want and just grind him down to size even if your sub weakens your offense or defence.
i saw this thing in east sarutabaruta and said (and i quote) "what the heck it'll be funny" i fought it and its attacks knocked me back but didn't deal any damage.it saved me an hour long hike to jeuno. until this event is over im flying air toro.
It can definitely be nuked, blms are one of the better weapons against these things.
Debuffing is another thing. I've only seen the Frost, Choke, etc line of debuffs stick. I've heard Bio and Dia will at least damage it initially. I have no idea if any of the spells i've mentioned actually do the DoT or stat lowering. I would guess that at least one does occur or why would frost stick? All it does is DoT and AGI down.
On a side note, why does it says it drops stuff other than the sash? Because it clearly does not. I have been around countless deaths of them and even got credit for the kills of a couple (both Toro and Muira (sp?))
My friend from ls (BLM58) and I (DRK60) were fighting this the other night, and he tried to Sleep II it. When that failed, I tried my luck with Sleep II. So in the end, I would have to say no. It doesn't seem that Sleep, Bind, or Slow type of spells work on this thing.
The same LS member who helped me with my second kill did a lot of damage with Freeze. I didn't see Gravity or Bind land yet, but... at least the nuke part works.
The warping attack follows a simple patern : It will warp you either to 1 of the 3 cities (Don't know the exact zone in each one) OR it will warp you to your home point.
If you fight it near Jeuno (Battalia, Sauromugue, Rolanberry), you get warped to 1/3 cities or your Home Point. If you fight it at 1/3 cities, you get warped to that city or your home point. That means wherever you fight it you will never end up in Jeuno unless your HP is there. And if you fight it in a city which has your HP there, you will never leave that Region.
I was coming back from Garlaige Citadel from a exp party. I zoned out to Sauromugue Champaign, becuase i couldnt get a warp2.
So i decided to run back to jeuno on my way back to jeuno i came across Toro at (H-7) he was near 2 taber beaks, so i had an idea. Attack toro and get knocked to my Homepoint so i attacked it, but i didnt realise that taber beaks aggro. so one of the taber beaks aggroed me.
I stayed around and let the toro hit me about 3-4 times but i wasnt homepointing, and the taber beak was hitting me for 50's so i started to run back to jeuno, to toro was hitting me all the way to jeuno. I lost the aggro from the tabber beak and was just inside the jeuno gates still getting hit by the toro, determined to get homepointed i stayed outside jeuno letting the toro beat me around. but it must of hit me about 100 times, but still no Hp. a couple of people who were coming out of jeuno attacked the toro, and took the hate so it rammed them and they got taken to there hp! this happened to about 4 different people but i hadn't got homepointed yet, i thought it may of been a glitch. but then the screen went black, and ............. I was in Windurst. :( i was like wth. why didnt i get taken to jeuno or my homepoint in jeuno?
The Toros in Sauromugue Champaign are alot tougher then the ones in Ronfaure, Suratabaruta and Gustaberg. i only did 0-24 thats if i hit (i missed 9/10 attacks) were as in the starter zones i would hit 100+ on toros. i got a very quick warp2 to jueno and am now Moto Master Matador. it seems wat ever starter town your Zone is nearest to the toro will take You to that town, not jueno. :(
Toro, as well as Miura, is part of the Blitz Buffalo event. I've killed Toro twice; it doesn't actually "drop" anything, but there is a ??? mark that appears by its corpse. You have about 10 seconds to click on the ??? mark before it disappears and you have to kill it again (spawn time according to a LS mate is very, very short). If you are successful, you'll get a Red Sash, a Rare/EX item that grants +1 Emnity.
You're encouraged to jump in and fight it whether it's claimed or not; the game will let you attack it even if the name is purple. If it falls, EVERYONE can click on the ??? and get the item while the corpse is visible.
The general hazard is that if you gain hate, Toro will use an attack that won't do damage, but will knock you back a long way, and then ZONE you into town (I've consistently landed in Port Bastok each time I've been hit). Fortunately, I have had no experience with him regenerating while you're gone.
Toro doesn't aggro - you can safely walk past it without getting launched a long way. It seems to spawn in the towns just outside of the three cities.
When I fought Toro (maybe "fought" isn't the right word, but I did the best *I* could), someone had pulled him to the Bastok Markets entrance (I was HP'd near there). I started the fight as a 50 DRG/WAR, swung at him, and then went flying. I landed in Port Bastok, and ran via Mog House exit back to the fight area. On my way through, I switched to /BLM sub so I could Warp back to the crystal in Markets. I gained TP on the level 1 mobs in the area, saw the nearby RDM in full AF go airborne, and landed a 935-point Penta Thrust. (I'll add that this Toro's defense is like that undead dog... What's its name again?) It then swatted me back to Port. Rinse, lather, repeat. Of course, when I finally killed it, I forgot to click the ??? mark (D'oh!) and had to find it again. I think we found it on Vomp Hill the second time. I'll note that the second one survived the 1143-point Penta I hit it with.
I think 10,000 HP is a good estimate of how much health it has.
